This is a family run hotel with excellent service. It's a bit out of the way, but easily accessible via the teleferico or inexpensive 15-minute taxi from the city center. It is basic but very clean with hot water showers and super comfy warm beds.
We stayed in La Paz for two nights at the Qhini. The family were so helpful with all aspects of the stay. It is in a good position for taking the green line cable car, although it is quite a climb up there especially with the effects of altitude. Our room was perfectly comfortable although I would say our neighbour was rather noisy.
This boutique hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. A relaxing place to come back to after a long day out. The hotel is family run and everyone is very friendly and eager to help out. Oscar and family are fantastic hosts. The breakfast is simple and good, I enjoy the local fruits. This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, away from bustling downtown and main tourist attractions. Commuting to other places is convenient. I took Teleferico during the day, and taxi/uber at night. They offer transport service from/to the airport/bus-terminal, one that I highly recommend. I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I am in La Paz.
I arranged a pre-dawn airport pick up and the hotel owner, Oscar, greeted me as I came out of customs. By that time it was 2:15 a.m. Oscar was such a friendly helpful face in a large new city for a woman traveling sola at that hour. This is a family run business - very friendly and helpful. Oscar's son, Joaquin helped orient me to La Paz after I groggily woke up to the spectacular views from the hotel of life at over 11,000 feet and the denseness of La Paz, built opportunistically on steep vertical grades. The hotel is a healthy work out stair climb to the Teleferico -- Linea Verde (public transit in the sky, currently 11 lines of gondolas that get you all over La Paz and some portions of El Alto). Other reviews referenced some road construction near the hotel -- it really isn't a big deal and maybe is complete by now. It was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel as a good landing place.
We stayed for 3 nights in November 2018. Hotel managed by a nice, helpful and generous family. Good location. we had a special room for our honeymoon with many gifts from this family. I recommend you this hotel.
The day before we arrived Daniel sent us an email if we want an AirPort pick-up. After we said yes, everything was arranged and the dad came pick us up. We were warmly welcomed by the brother of Daniel. We were early, so the room wasnt ready yet. We got an option to stay in another room (very nice) and could enjoy a complimentary breakfast!! The room was great and had no comments on Nothing. The next day we had a plane to catch and the dad brought us to the AirPort again, saying already an accident happend. All the flights were canceled and we didn’t know what to do. We were stressed out, because we had a flight to Rio to catch the next day and the airline had no clear offer or option for us. We didn’t had an idea an then came Daniel to the rescue! We didn’t see him before, but he was so nice. He stayed calm, helped us in every possible way (calling a taxi, arrange a bus and helped booking a flight from Cochabamba) and we can’t thank Daniel and his wonderfull mom enough! Don’t hesitate to book/stay at this amazing place with even more amazing staff (family)!!!!
We stayed here for 2 nights after a tour from San Pedro to Uyuni. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy few days and was immaculately clean. The family are very accommodating and friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They even let us have our room early at 7am even though check in wasn’t until 1pm - which was really appreciated as we’d been travelling on a bus overnight. The breakfast was lovely - delicious fresh bread each morning was great. Only negatives was the WiFi was a little slow at times and we had laundry done which we felt was quite expensive (310 bobs) although we did have a lot. We would still give the hotel 5 stars though as these were only minor things and they really are a lovely family.
Such a great place to stay. This family was so welcoming. We were a family of 4, plus 10 additional family members in other rooms. We pretty much took over the place for a bit. Joaquin and Daniel plus their parents and sister were very friendly, always available and ready to assist. They helped us out with everything we needed. They stored our stroller for the whole week. Breakfast was perfect and included. Their father collected our baggage from another hotel. We needed laundry done, which we paid for, however instead of finding a place to drop them off and pickup, Joaquin's mother washed, ironed, and folded within 24 hours. Snacks/beverages were available for purchase in your refrigerator. We asked for recommendations for lunch, dinner, attractions, local best foods, coffee (as we are from Washington State) and they gave great advice. They called taxis for us, even one of their housekeepers, who was waiting for one on the street, helped us wave one down and bargained a fare price to our destination. The yellow line Teleferico is just up the stairs from this hotel. It is a steep trek, however a great way to see the entire city and its beauty. Overall, this was just a great experience. We would return to Qhini. The family mentioned that #2 Qhini is currently under construction, hopefully completed by 2019. My family wishes them the best. We were visiting Bolivia, as my mother was born and raised in this city. We took a 4-day trip to Cusco, Peru to see Machu Picchu, which was amazing. A DON'T NOT MISS TRIP! We had great weather in July, a few showers on 2 of our 18 days total. Great memories were made.
This B&B was amazing. From the welcome by the father, Oscar to the rest of the family greeting us on site, it was a perfect experience. Everything went smoothly and we were totally taken care of. We truly wished we had more time here. The rooms were spotless and we really loved La Paz. It is a unique city with lots to see and do. We hope to make it back here one day and thank you again for the warm welcome and stay!!!!
I stayed for two nights for a leisure/business trip and wished I could’ve stayed longer. A beautiful family-owned hotel with lots of vegetation and wood in a quiet area and delicious breakfast. Thank you Oscar, Alicia and their sons for the great hospitality, picking me up from the airport, welcoming “mate de coca”, and overall attention to detail. I surely recommend this place and heard a second Quino is under construction in Sopocachi for those who want to be close to the nightlife.
