Downside: The hotel is generally a bit old and worn out. The biggest drawback is that it has a central AC system, so you can't adjust the temperature yourself. In November the central AC was still set to cooling, so no heating was possible and we were cold. From reception they gave us heaters, but most of them didn't work. Also the room has a mold smell and the AC had a lot of dust. Upside: the location is good and the staff was welcoming. There are pijamas and umbrellas provided for free and they can send your suitcase to another hotel, airport, etc

The room is surprisingly spacious. Location is super convenient, many bus line stops are just a few steps from the hotel, my small restaurants on the same street stay open past 10pm and will good prices. However, the hotel is old, the bed is thin, linen and pillow are very uncomfortable, I neck hurt after one night sleep. Unfortunately I booked for 3 nights, I had to buy a pillow to survive the other 2 nights.

Despite the size, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The complementary umbrella service was great. Location is also within walking distance of the shopping malls. The staff were courteous. Nothing I can complain at this price point, I would rebook in the future.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Supermarket and convenience store right across from the hotel. About a 10 minute walk to the nearest station and 25 minute walk to tourist destinations such as pontocho alley! Shijo station had the karasuma and hankyu line making it great for getting around the city. Laundry facility was great and the hotel can store you bags.Great options for food in the area. Definitely would stay here again 🙂

We did like having 4 separate beds in the room. Bedding was comfortable. Reasonable size and fine, although finishing are dated. The location is safe and accessible to transit, close to some of the high-end shopping, but not particularly aesthetic neighbourhoods. The 15$ breakfast was definitely NOT worth the money. Nowhere near as good as the basic breakfast at nearby Holly Café. In fact, I found it hard to find anything even reasonably palatable at the buffet breakfast for western taste and usually I am fairly adventurous with foods. Scrambled eggs were so runny and undercooked.
