Stayed at this hotel for a quick business event, and I must say, I had a wonderful experience staying here! First and foremost, the location of the hotel is very strategic - near to everything you'll need - coffee shops, grocery, and shopping stores! Since I was here for an event, I had to deal with their events team, and I must congratulate them for being so accommodating and responsive to our changing requirements. From the sales team to the banquet guys, kudos for the job well-done! Room amenities are definitely OK for business travellers - bed is particularly comfortable. I also appreciate the separation of work and rest in the room - workspace and bedroom is not in the same space, which allows people to really focus on work (without the distractions of sleepiness), and I can rest well without the distraction of my laptop. Definitely well-thought! Overall experience here was great - would definitely be back!
Clean rooms. This hotel has everything one needs if Subang Jaya is your choice destination. Located within the Empire Shopping Centre, with Fitness First gym available to hotel guests. The hotel restaurant serves a good range of breakfast and meals! Whatever is missing is well complemented by the hundreds of eateries in the complex! The hotel provides complimentary carpark which is big bonus in a hugely busy and populated area!
Stayed with my family for 3 nights and had a good experience. The hotel is located within Empire mall which gives you the shopping opportunities without the need to go far and also you get to choose from a good number of restaurants near by. The hotel also provides free shuttle service to nearby malls and sunway lagoon park.
My company had arrange a conference here. The floor personnel were very accommodating. The tea break spread was good. However the lunch buffet was horrible. It was very limited & most of the food were not fresh. The LaLa had sands in them. They were not properly cleaned. Starters & desserts were so limited. The only thing was good was chicken soup & prawn mee soup.
Room has terrible lighting, the irony of having a workspace yet it was so dimly lit while the bathroom light was the 'brightest' of all. No soundproof windows, stayed on the 8th floor yet I could hear the railway train going past a few times late night and the traffic which woke me up (definitely not recommended for light sleepers), air conditioning didn't work halfway through the night. Missing amenities which I had to phone for and bizarre how there wasn't a shower head but only a rain shower. Terrible breakfast with little variety. Waffles were burnt, no one at the egg station throughout the 6 days of my stay, sour yogurt (spoilt?), food wasn't topped up (literally 1 small piece of roti canai left), juices were not cold. My safe wasn't working as well, phoned concierge after checking in and waited for 30 mins but no one came up. Called again and was told that they were busy and that I will call back after I return from my meal. Returned and made the call again waited for another 35 mins and no one came up, phoned the concierge that the person should return in the morning as I had a long day and would like to turn in for the night. Surprisingly, concierge said that they were able to send someone up immediately.. Came up and didn't know what was wrong, said would schedule maintenance at 10:30 the next morning but never showed up, phoned concierge and no one picked up.. Overall, would not recommend. Perhaps decent for a 1-2 nights stay but definitely not longer and especially if you are traveling for business which would require adequate rest and a decent workspace with decent lighting. Poor service and thoroughly disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for.
+ Hotel set up is very good . Located together with a shopping mall . Booked the Family room and was very impressed with the layout . Hotel guests get a 3 hrs free karaoke session at an outlet near to the hotel lobby . You only need to pay for your drinks . - Since it co-located with a shopping mall, carpark can be very chaotic on wkends and public holidays . There is a swimming pool located on the 8th floor but it only allows 18yrs old and above to enter . Huge disappointment for my young kids !!
Where to begin with this hotel and it’s sheer awfulness? Let’s start with rooms. I stayed 14 days and not a day occurred where I didn’t have to phone down because the they forgot something during make up - soap, towels, laundry bags, laundry tickets, water. Often waiting in vain I ended up going to reception to get it myself Food. Cold, uninspiring (this is Malaysia, the home of great food), bland, poor quality ingredients (the beef really did die of old age). Breakfast especially was poor. Stale bread, no proper coffee and the attitude of staff - as poor as the food Staff. With one or two notable exceptions these guys care little or nothing for the people who (they clearly don’t understand) pay their wages. Everything is too much trouble, even asking for a coke at dinner gets a wince in return. Make a complaint and get a shrug at best or they just walk off. Don’t trust them with your tailored shirts or white cotton Summary. Poor value for money, no understanding of international standards of customer service, old decor, bad remedial work when done. Current owners clearly milking this place as a cash cow for as long as they can Find another - there’s plenty
I have been staying on and off in the Empire Hotel for the last 8 years. When I first when the place was clear and the service was good, how things have changed over the years. The common areas are generally in pretty good shape, and outwardly it looks like a very nice, if not somewhat unconventional place. But behind that, the place is badly run down and dirty, truly lacking from any real investment, and it shows. Dirty carpets, stained and water damaged ceiling and in the room I stayed in the shower was fixed at a hight of 4 foot? It need a major refit, one floor at a time. Sadly, this will be my last visit to the Empire... Such a shame.
