..if relaxation and luxury is what you're looking for, then go with this place. It was amazing. The service was incredible, the food was great, there was always something going on, and the property itself was next level. I can't wait to go back.

This is a hard review to write. When you first arrive and see the truly majestic views or sink into the absolutely gigantic beds with the softest sheets known to man, you feel like you couldn't/shouldn't have a worry or complaint in the world. However, given the fact that this is a Ritz Carlton (perhaps that is actually a cross for these resorts to bear) and that the price is quite high, I'm not sure the place lived up to expectation. Much about this resort is fantastic. The rooms have quite a wow factor with the huge bath tubs, Moorish architecture, and again, those giant beds. The pool is gorgeous. Breakfasts are robust. Twice a day maid service was lovely. Most of the staff couldn't be more smiley or friendly (loved Yanni and Mas at the pool, Anna, Ruby, and Sabai). And in many regards, there is incredible thoughtfulness-- the hotel sent us an email a week before arrival asking what kind of music we wanted to be played in our airport transfer car (!), and a special tonic found its way to our fridge after my husband merely mentioned a small stomachache. So...while I hate to be negative, I can't say the whole experience was exceptional. There were a number of things that I was surprised to find here/wished were different. -Resort is showing some wear and tear. The purple paint on the buildings is streaking and peeling, and (to my eye), it's not as sophisticated as it could be. A number of the beach cushions are stained. As you walk around the resort, there are construction areas minimally covered with ripped tarps. Some of the gardens are on the disheveled side. Our villa had a roof top with gorgeous views, but it was unkempt up there (peeling paint, lots of leaves/brush there). That being said, you'll often walk past a workman on his hands and knees picking bits of leaves out of the gravel. It seems like there is a lot of attention to detail in some arenas, but more focus could be directed to different areas for bigger impact. A fresh coat of paint everywhere would be a huge start. - Gym is pretty mediocre. Other gyms in hotels of this caliber have had nice views and more interesting equipment. - Spotty/weak wifi. After a day out in the sun, it's nice to relax in the villa and have access to the internet. My husband and I both found it frustrating to have very piddly wifi that often completely conked out. Similarly, the very few tv channels in English were pretty glitchy. - For a resort of this cost, I would love to see more interesting, innovative complimentary activities. Maybe something like stand-up paddle boarding yoga? Free Thai boxing? There's a complimentary boat ride to Hong Island (though you have to pay 300 baht to visit), a morning exercise class, and kayaking, but the other water activities come with a charge, as well as the more interesting activities. - In that same vein, we just felt a little nickel-and-dimed. We paid for a package that included our dinners in our nightly rate, and we did that partly because it's nice to arrive at a place like this and have the money aspect already taken care of/no decisions to be made surrounding it. We were told about the "50% off spa deal!" more times than we would have liked, and the (extra cost) barbecue dinner was pushed a bit unrelentingly. - Butler service. This was the first time I've stayed somewhere with this kind of set-up. It seems very cool, and lovely Sabai was so sweet, but it didn't really add a ton of value for us. It often seemed like an unnecessary step that slowed things down (i.e. Call butler so that she can call restaurant to make reservation, then wait for her to call back to let us know it's confirmed. I appreciate being taken care of, but it would have been more efficient if I were able to call the restaurant directly). I didn't enjoy having to ask someone else to do something I could easily (and more quickly) do myself. I am sure other people feel differently, but that was my experience. I also wonder if the whole concept of having a personal butler sets up too high a expectation. I think we were a fairly low maintenance couple, but when you read about having someone at your beck and call 24/7 and then don't really use/need/see them all day, it seems like a wasted benefit. - Food was fairly good but there were a few misses. We found the seafood restaurant to be extremely rich (surprising), and breakfast was a little inconsistent (husband's request for medium eggs came out more hard boiled, waffles didn't look much like waffles one day.) The settings, however, were magical at sunset. - Service at the restaurants came with an eager smile, but they seemed a little understaffed. We had to call people over to us for more water or to signal that we were done about 3/4 of the time, rather than have those things being watched/anticipated. - It seems like there's a lot of unused space. The reception area/big walled gardens away from the beach have a bit of an eerie feel because they're dead empty. I realize this is all quite critical, but I think it is fair. We DID have a nice time at Phulay Bay and will remember the place happily, but we will try another hotel if we return to this part of the world again.

Appreciate the warmth we received during our stay with particular shout-out to Khun Sabai (our butler), Khun Aek and Khun Kat (bartender(s) at the pool), Khun Gai at the Thai restaurant, Khun Oliver and Ms Peng (the trainees) with Ruby busily running around making sure everyone is having a great day

We had an absolutely amazing time at Phulay Bay earlier this week while on our honeymoon. Starting from the moment we were warmly greeted in the gorgeous sala by Ruby Garcia (shes fantastic!) to meeting our butler, Tanya, who helped us with every detail we could consider or desire, the staff provided excellent service. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful resort that is spacious and one of a kind! Hope to come back here one day soon!

Stayed for 8 days. Our main goal for this holiday was to chill-out and relax; and we were certainly not disappointed. The outstanding staff ( with their beautiful smiles ) were so attentive and friendly that they made us feel almost like family. We would love to name particular staff who were special, but they were all so special we would not want to miss any out. We must however mention our Butler "Beet" who catered to our needs without a fault and always with a genuine smile. The food in all the restaurants was superb. The Executive Chef, Wade, not only ran outstanding restaurants he also made himself available to the guests and took a genuine interest in their experiences. Next time we go, we will definitely stay a few days longer

Had a good and relax holiday Service is good and they have Lovely bed and bath tub. All staffs are friendly and professional from restaurants’ to villa butler.The hotel always providing accommodative services. Rooms is well appointed with attentive arrangements of room amenities separately for gent’s and ladies. The resort is truly spectacular. The main pool providing daily complementary chilled young coconut drink . Buffet breakfast of good food quality and a suitable range for selection. The Phulay Bay is a place likely to recommend.

What a resort ..what an experience ...true Thai hospitality ...very luxurious and extremely hospitable ...the epitome of luxury...and staff that will spoil you to the core...chef sandeep and all his staff made sure we had no problems with food.

This property is stunning we stay in villa #9 which we felt was the best villa in the house, get it if you can! Our private butler Sid is absolutely THE best, he thought of things even before I could, he was on top of absolutely every detail! He made our stay A++, as well as the perfect, sweetest nanny Sabai, And our adventure tour guide Som O I highly suggest you request this team if your able to get them. I promise you will not be disappointed! If you had any sort of problems which I can't imagine happening I guarantee the general manager would more than correct it as we greatfully had the chance to speak to her and she's a very genuine kind lady striving for nothing but the best service. We had our own pool in the villa which was very nice, but the big pool was just as amazing! The cocunuts we're the sweetest I've ever tasted! Great hotel shop, I did some damage there lol 😉! The ocean does have underside so be careful of that but was soooo warm. The water is gorgeous!!!! I promise you an amazing stay and use my recommendations for THE best experience of your life! You definitely get more than you pay for!

If you are looking to be swept off your feet, this is the place to be. Everything is near perfection. We've all heard of Thai hospitality but this place actually left us in awe from the start to the end of our stay. It seems to have gathered the very best people into one place. The premise is absolutely beautiful. The service is out of this world. This is the first hotel that I rated 5 stars for every section. Special thanks to my wonderful Butler Khun Yid, the perfect hostess Khun Poppy, the very friendly and warm Gerard and Khun Jom. You and the rest of the staff members have left us with a lasting impression and we look forward to visiting you again.

We can't stop talking about our stay there it was amazing. The staff, the food and everything was perfection and we can't wait to come back... If you're going to Thailand and plan on staying at other hotels as well you better stay here last cause everywhere else will be a disappointment after... Amazing !!!!!!!!
