If you have the availability to book a room in the Club level, do it. The Club located in the 37th floor gives you an amazing view of Kobe. The staff is always eager to help. We arrived our first night a bit late to enjoy the night cap cocktails, but the Hostess was very kind in getting us a sample of what had been offered earlier plus a glass of wine. I must say THANKS as we really needed that after a long day of travel. Very close to the Foreigner's Home area which is about the only highlight in Kobe....besides the BEEF!
I stayed in three different cities in Japan, and this hotel wins for best sleep quality. The location is also quite convenient, near the train station and lots of restaurant options. Note that the rooms do not have their own climate control system, and the Japanese seem to like their rooms a little on the warm side. The staff quickly brought me a fan when I requested one, however, and that made it perfectly comfortable (as someone who can't sleep when it's too warm.
This hotel is ideally located a couple of minutes walk from the shin-Kobe station where the Shinkansen stops, and only a pleasant stroll from the hefty nightlife of the downtown area and the harbour. Rooms are spacious for Japan, very clean, with a good bed and a fine bathroom with all amenities. Most of them have beautiful views over Kobe and the harbour. The hotel also includes a nice pool and a spa area (extra cost for the spa). The breakfast is just fantastic, with a wide array of both Western and Japanese food. The concierge service works perfect, and restaurant reservations are made with a smile (it is necessary to get help with this in Japan if you do not speak the language). For those upgraded to the clud area, there are free drinks and snacks at the top floor between 5 and 7 pm. Only drawback is a rather sterile lobby, and the price. Hotels like these do not come directly cheap.
Located just outside of Shin-Kobe Station, the hotel is connected by a foot bridge from the station. It is also a short stroll to Sannomiya and other tourist spots in Kobe. City loop bus has a stop at the station, hence, getting around the city is quick and easy. Our room offered a good view of the city skyline - truly beautiful during the night when the city was sparkling with lights. The harbour and the cable car to the mountain behind the train station can also be seen from our room. The room was a lot larger for Japanese standard, the bed and pillows were comfortable, toilet was clean and the water pressure was very high - very good for a hot shower. The hotel lobby is impressive and can be accessed from several entry points. There are restaurants and bars within the hotel premises. We tried the coffee, cakes and sandwiches at The Lounge - a bit pricey but worth the price. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended.
This is a well-positioned ANA Hotel that has well-organised and friendly staff. The hotel rooms are of a good size (by usual Japanese standards), very clean and have great views of either the city area or the nearby mountain. Breakfast was extensive and plentiful. The real benefit of the ANA is its direct link to Shin-Kobe Station and the Shinkansen. This means you can get from the ANA Hotel to pretty much anywhere else in Tokyo very efficiently. The hotel is a little way from the city centre but it is an easy walk.
I appreciated staying close to Shin Kobe and the view from my room was beautiful. Besides that, the rest of my stay was disappointing. The rooms need an update and while I reserved a non-smoking room I was given a room that was clearly a smoking room at some time. You cannot control the room temperature and it was very hot as well. I moved to another room on the 2nd night and it was better but still unimpressive. Restaurant hours very odd with the bar on the top floor not opening until 9 pm. The “shopping center” connected to the hotel is mostly vacant which was disappointing as well. Definitely recommend visiting Kobe but I would choose another hotel next time.
The Crowne Plaza is in a great spot adjacent to Shin-Kobe station and a short walk to some great neighborhoods. The property is quite large with high-end shopping, a Doctor on the premises, and several very nice and well-regarded restaurants. The hotel is aging and, though it is regularly renovated, has a feeling of an older but not historic property. The bathrooms, for example, are dark and lack the wonderful tubs Japan is known for. Kobe is not a big city and there aren’t a lot of luxury properties such as you would find in Osaka. The Crowne Plaza is pretty good for Kobe but not what you might expect for the money elsewhere.
Stayed here for two nights and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is located next to the bullet train station and end of a subway line. So travel to other cities and within Kobe is very convenient. Our room was spacious and had a great view of the city of Kobe. The lounge at the top floor had an even better view. The indoor pool was big and great. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel.
The ANA Crowne Plaza is located at Shin-Kobe Station. The direct Access to the Shinkansen Trains makes it a perfect Location for a Business trip. the rooms are small but nice and the hospitality is great. It is always a pleasure to come back.
Stayed here for about 5 days and did day trips to various places (hiroshima, miyajima, yamaguchi, osaka). Being literally connected to the Kobe Shinkansen station made the daily excursions extremely easy. Even on rainy days you don't have to worry because the walkway between the two is covered. Furthermore the subway is right under the hotel and you can use that to get around Kobe. There also is a hop-on-hop-off city-bus loop that you can take if you prefer that for sightseeing. The restaurants in the hotel were quite expensive and the quality was sub-par. We tried the chinese restaurant Suzhou which was not all that. Service also was lacking. Breakfast buffet had a large selection but it was exactly the same each and every day, no variations whatsoever. The good news is that the hotel sits atop a mall called Shin Kobe Oriental city which has a plethora of food options so you are not stuck eating at the hotel in a pinch, you can just take the hotel elevator to the B1/B2 level and grab a bite at one of the restaurants there. Only thing to keep in mind is that most of the restaurants there close early, the latest being 9pm. So if you need a late night snack then you are stuck with the hotel room-service and the selection there seems sparse. We tried a bunch of restaurants at that mall but the best one was this Indian restaurant called Namaste Taj Mahal. We were surprised to find such authentic Indian food there. The hotel seems a bit dated, the rooms are clean but everything inside looks old. The only saving grace is of course the convenience and the views from higher floors, if you get a corner room then you pretty much get a 270 degrees view and the night vistas are really spectacular.
