i always stay here every time I'm in town. It's conveniently located near the Turkey Creek Shopping Center. There are several restaurants close by, fast food just down the road or if you cross the interstate and go to the first light and make a right, there's Turkey Creek with shopping and nice restaurants. Restaurants like Texas Road House, Conner's Steak House, Olive Garden and many others. There's a Walmart Super Center, Target, Ross Dress for Less, Pier One Imports, Motherhood Maternity, Bath and Body Works, Bed Bath and Beyond, Dollar Tree, and a Regal Cinemas Theater and many others. If you're looking for night life. instead of crossing the interstate turn right on Lovell Rd and turn left on the road immediately next to the Harley Davidson dealership and Cotton Eyed Joe's a county western dance club is on that road. They offer a mix of music to dance to, but mostly current country western music. If Karaoke is what you're looking for there's Asian Cafe nearby. Google it for directions. Big Mike is the DJ and he'll keep you entertained even if you don't sing. They offer a full bar as well as Chinese dishes and fountain drinks. Karaoke is every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm-11pm. There are also some other places that offer Karaoke, but if you want to sing I recommend Asian Cafe. Econo Lodge is affordable lodging and I have gotten to know the owner, Mike, and his family. They are very nice and safety is their main concern for their visitors. If you have a concern they are quick to respond to your concern. I have stayed here many times over the past years and I have been very pleased. The rooms are very nice, especially considering it's a budget friendly motel. It's nothing fancy, just your basic motel. I've stayed in a lot of budget motels and this one is tops on the list. Great for overnight stops or extended stays for construction workers. There are a few cosmetic blemishes here and there, but overall it's comfortable, clean, and the rooms serve their purpose. If you want the Ritz then keep on moving, but if you want a room free from cockroaches and bedbugs, that's safe and affordable well then this is the motel for you. Stay safe and happy travels :)
Room was filthy and service was pathetic! Traveled for 15 hours and just wanted a cold drink and some sleep! Ice machines didn't work! Pop machines were empty and front office really didn't care! "I could check them again in the morning"! was their response! Room (both of them) were disgusting! DON"T STAY HERE! YOU WILL BE MORE "AT EASE" SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR! (or under it!)
I went to stay a day to attend a concert that evening, i chose to stay here. Everything was fine it wasn't a holliday inn but that was expected, but 1 hour before check out i get up pull my clothes off and in walks a house keeper, a male house keeper, im furious, the male house keeper walks in no knock, not a word, and there i am naked, trying to get dressed and get my things together. I complained at the main office they wrote me a bogus reciept saying they would refund my money. Well i wait and eventually call, so they can tell me 'your not getting a refund' WOAH, okay money or not regardless that was un called for ill spend all the extra money making sure they pay. Needless to say I'll be making a trip to knoxville in the morning.
Hope you like cold showers. We came back to the room late in the evening and our room hadn't been cleaned. We went to the front seat for towels and they said sorry but they didn't have any clean towels and we are out of luck. The room does have a nice big flatscreen tv and the room was a good size but we never got a hot shower. The bed was ok. Air conditioner works very well. Not in a great area but is right on interstate.
I was looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay during a UT home football weekend. Everyone else had increased their prices for this weekend. I came across this motel that was more reasonably priced. Upon arrival, the girl at the front desk greeted me and quickly provided my room key. The room was a little outdated, but clean. The TV did not have the greatest picture, but I was their mainly just to sleep. There were a few sketchy looking characters staying here, but nobody bothered me.
How do i even give this a one star. Worse hotel I have ever stayed at, we arrived at the hotel and had booked a king bed guaranteed online but they wouldn't give us that and got two doubles instead. Finally got into the room there were black streaks on the walls, pee coloured stains on the sheets and marks all over the pillows. Had to become my own technician for the tv that wouldn't work. There were stains all over the toilet and bathtub. Went to the bathroom that first time and the toilet wouldn't flush. Was so disgusted by the beds that lucky I had my own camping equipment in the vehicle I had to cover the bed with my own sheets and used my own pillows. There is no sound proofing in the building you can hear everything outside and the people from the other rooms. To top it all off there are some very sketchy characters staying at this motel.
One day/night stay was great. I arrived and was granted an early check in. Room initially given was not ready according to cleaning staff adamantly. I was directed by him to go to front desk and ask for Room 108. Did so. Front desk said that was an upgrade. No fuss. Gave that to me. Cosmetics of room such as peeling paint was only visual I saw. AC worked great. TV was great for a day of watching college football.
Atmosphere of people cleaning cars out, running up and down the stairs and people. Strange smell of overly covering up the smell when we walked in and no smoking room had cigarette ashes in different areas through out the room. Fresh dog food still on the floor behind the door and the vacuum pushed it up all around the room. . Bathroom was clean bed looked clean other than cigarette burns in the bedding. :) Just off interstate to get some sleep... beats sleeping car....
The room was decent. The price was decent. Booked last minute while traveling from VA to CA. I only needed a place to sleep, didn't need the breakfast. I really wanted Waffle house, which was across the street. It is a pet friendly hotel with one of the cheapest pet fee. Right off the freeway and you could hear it. If I was driving through again, I would stay but I probably would not pick it as a destination.
If you come by this place, keep on driving. I checked in and went out for supper. When I came back, hotel staff had been in my room and the front desk had no idea who or why they were in there. The next morning...even though I had complained the night before...the same thing happened. Hotel staff were in my room again! Very seedy....and no reasons offered by management. Needless to say, I cut my stay with this establishment short, and left right away. Keep on driving by this place - there are several other good hotels close by.
