Victoria House Hotel

Since my last stay here 4 years ago, the owners have made some impressive improvements. They have added extra, beautiful bedrooms, moved reception to a better location, and installed a lift. However, the quality of food and service remain as good as it was. It may be a little way out of town, less than an mile, but I would not hesitate to recommend the Victoria House Hotel to anyone visiting Killarney. And the Guiness is the best I've tasted !!

A delightful building with contemporary decor. Very good food and service. We can recommend the fish and chips. It gets very busy so it would be wise to book although we did get a table without a reservation. Parking in front of the hotel.

Victoria House has gorgeous rooms with comfortable beds, excellent customer service (Maura is fantastic), delicious breakfast with scones to die for. It is in a great location also. We will be back!! The Smyths and Roams

We had a great stay at the Victoria House Hotel, the hotel was first class, the staff very obliging, the service and food very good. Maura on reception was a bonus she made our stay so interesting with her recommendations of what to do and where to go and was only to pleased to make arrangements on our behalf. A special thanks for her kindness and attention.

Let's face it, Killarney is borderline chaos. A wee bit out of the centre, Victoria House was an oasis. We had a lovely day on the Beara Peninsula and this place was truly a home away from home. Spent two nights here in late June. Two wonderful dinners, a VERY comfortable bed and a luxurious room. Maura at the front desk was a the best ambassador. The Ivy Room Pub staff was terrific. Couldn't think of a better place in Killarney.

The Victoria house hotel was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. All staff were so friendly and helpful! We had some lunch in the ivy bar before we checked in and it was so tasty! Would definitely return.

This was a cute boutique hotel, with very reasonable prices and the restaurant was reasonably priced as well. Maura at the reception desk was lovely, and greeted us warmly! The room was beautifully decorated however the room was tight with not much room to open more than one piece of luggage at a time. My main complaint was that there is no AC, yes as advertised, but when we entered our room, the heater had been on full blast on a 20 degree day. It took some time for our room not to be boiling and never really cooled down during the night making our night’s sleep less than ideal. Additionally, there was no coffee available in the room or down stairs. Other than the heating incident, the hotel was nice, could speak to breakfast because it was not being served before the time we needed to check out.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay here with very attentive staff who are clearly very well trained.Enhanced by the attention to detail shown by Maura on reception beginning by the personal welcome being addressed by name. In spite of arriving simultaneously with a coach group she handled our check in with the utmost of politeness and care. Her attention to detail in knowledge was demonstrated in advice she gave on the various local attractions and excursions all gained from her personal experience . Excellent evening meals are served in the bar which has a warm atmosphere. On some nights there is live irish music. The decor and furnishings at the hotel are chosen personally by the owner . Will certainly recommend hotel to others . John Surrey UK.

First of all we got upgraded! Beautiful hotel and rooms. Attention to detail, clean and modern room and bathroom with a jacuzzi! Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Did not want to leave this hotel. Will def be back! Not far from city centre, in walking distance. As I have seen on TripAdvisor before, should be rated as 5 stars!

This is a lovely hotel with excellent food and attentive staff. This was part of a trip we took around Ireland where we stayed in a different town each night. The welcome - The lady on reception welcomed us in such a pleasant manner, it can really make a difference to how you feel when you arrive at a hotel (we’ve stayed in some places where the reception staff have been very rude). The staff - The staff appear to be genuinely attentive. They seem to love their jobs, which is rare, and they are very polite. The room - The room we stayed in was furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Not all furnishings maybe to your/our taste but it has a distinctive look and is of excellent quality. They have clearly spent some money here. Food - We dined in the bar on the evening and the food was fantastic. We’ve eaten in a wide range of places from Michelin Star restaurants to having street food. We love our food and our meals here were not a disappointment. Sleep - The bed is very comfy, a good size and we both had an excellent nights sleep. Location - The location is excellent and is very close to the National Park. There is plenty of private parking and it’s easy to find the hotel (set back off the main road). We genuinely could not fault this hotel.
