Recent guest reviews

We stayed in a Family Room 4 of us. We were greeted by reception in a pleasant manner. Room was big enough although the doors slam when going between rooms - must be noisy for other guests. Room seems old and in need of some renovation, the phone had all the access keys pulled out (to contact reception etc), sheets were clean and so was bathroom. We only stayed 1 night and it was okay. Our area of disappointment and concern was really the restaurant on the 2nd floor - Library Point. The waiter was honest with us and told us a big coach party was in ahead of us so we knew the service would be longer. 3 of us ordered the steak which to be honest was a joke. 1 was so chewy that we spat it out, the other 2 were mediocre but we ate because we were hungry. The garnish isn’t worth putting on the plate (really ... you should put some nice vegetables with it). We informed our waiter straight away but nothing was done about it. We immediately went to reception and cancelled our breakfast after further reading reviews about food at this location. Save your money and don’t waste it. If I were the Manager I would take a more serious look at the situation of the food as there seems to be several reviews of dissatisfaction.

We drove in from a great day at cobh and was really happy with the check in and area. We decided to have to have dinner at the hotel at the library point in the hotel. Big mistake!!! While the service was reasonable considering a huge party was in just before us, the food is awful to be kind. My family of four with the exception of one chose the Irish steak. We ended up leaving most if not all of it on the plate. This is not a place you want to eat at and while we actually booked breakfast for the next day as I type we are going down to the front desk to cancel it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND EAT HERE!

We stayed here two nights while exploring the area. It is a short walk to town to see all Killarney has to offer. The staff is very friendly. The lady at the front desk gave us recommendations for the best places to dine. The hotel is comfortable and clean with plenty of parking. The lobby had comfortable sofas by a fireplace. They have a cool bar called Saddlers Pub that we hung out in at night to have drinks. There is free wi-fi so it gave me time to catch up on my reviews. The health and fitness center has an indoor heated pool, steam room, and jacuzzi. You sign in at the desk and enjoy the facilities. We used the jacuzzi after walking around all day. It felt great. The room was nice and clean. We got the room with 1 bed as it was just the two of us. There was a sofa by the window and a table with a chair, mirror, and a hair dryer in the drawer. There is a TV but we watch very little TV when on vacation. Breakfast isn't included but if you purchase when you check in it is discounted. We chose this option as we knew we would be eating breakfast here. We had a nice stay here in Killarney.

Stayed here overnight. Staff attentive and courteous. We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good. All in all a place I would stay again. It is within walking distance of Killarney town centre

About a 10 minute walk into Killarney, but this hotel offers a decent free breakfast with your stay. The rooms are bigger than other Holiday Inns we’ve visited, maid service was very kind, rooms are clean, pillows comfortable.

Visited as part of an organised tour. Acceptable level of comfort. Very small gym. Pool warm, but there were 2 men who spent their time circling the perimeter of the pool making it difficult to swim lengths. Pool & gym only open very limited hours except during Juy & August, so only got limited use of these facilities. Good choice of food for breakfast. Catered for my complex dietary needs.

RECENTLY RENOVATED THE PLACE IS CRISP AND CLEAN. I had a lovely welcome from a great receptionist. The breakfast stafff were curt and because I hadn't paid for breakfast in reservation insisted on me paying for it before I sat down. He was curt to the point of being rude. The food was ok. The rooms are clean and big. Very close to INEC.

Stayed here for the June bank holiday weekend on bed and breakfast deal we were very impressed with the new make over the holiday inn is getting all nice and freshly painted and new carpet .Check in was quick with a nice young girl at reception didn't catch her name.Room was big had tea/coffee making facility, plenty shampoo/shower gels also.Had breakfast on both mornings very tasty full irish and plenty of choice if you wanted cereal or cold meats or porridge.Staff are very friendly and quick to bring tea/coffee no waiting around for it .I have stayed here a few times and i will def return again,we didn't eat dinner here so can not advise on that ..

Stayed here with a friend for two nights. Got an unbelievably good deal on one of the booking sites. Hotel was really nice (redecoration/renovation going on at the moment and our room had a recent makeover). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast wasn’t included in our package but, as we were in a hurry the first morning, we ate there before heading off climbing. At €12.50 each for “ok” food, it wasn’t great value- especially for my friend who just had juice, porridge and coffee. Staff were very helpful though and we were told that if we had breakfast there on both mornings of our stay, we could do so for €10 each per day. They also happily gave us another pot of tea to fill our lunch flasks and filled our water bottles for us. Pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc were a welcome stop after a difficult days climbing. Would definitely stay here again if I got the same deal.

The room was big enough and clean with everything that one needs. The pool and spa is decent , although some may find the pool a bit too small at busy times. Overall the staff were nice and attentive to any requests. The breakfast is ok, you can eat as much as you want on a help yourself buffet. The only thing I would not recommend is eating dinner in the restaurant , we tried on the first night , and the quality of the food was average. They also have bar food in the pub which we didn't try . Nonetheless we had a good stay .
