Mum and I travelled with Majestic for a five day break. The Hotel was undergoing an update , which it very much needs. There was buffet style breakfast and evening meal. There was variety but much the same every day. Quality should have come first. Tea and coffee was awful. Coffee tasted of chicory. We bought our own. There were cold desserts only, and these were instant whip, solid jelly, dry pieces of cake every evening, and a fresh fruit salad which was not 'fresh'. Cucumber and beetroot were tasteless and watery . The bingo was run by a guy with hearing problems so it was unfair calling. I wouldn't visit that hotel again for these reasons.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is very out dated and is desperate need for a renovation. The room and bathroom was clean and there was only one day the bin didn't get emptied. We were on the 1st floor which was brilliant. The food could have been improved by having more options on a night. I would recommend going for tea quite early if u wanted to get some hot food. The breakfast however was wonderful and couldn't complain about it always plenty of food on a morning. There was a pack lunch that was available to order for the day that we travelled home which was very handy to know. Overall the hotel is in a fantastic location within a few minutes walking distance to the town centre and the harbour.

We often have a mini break at this hotel. We pay extra for a better room and premier dining. Got no complaints at all the staff are always friendly although the nightly security guard is ignorant and arrogant. Food was ok and always varied, superb breakfast steven in the Entertainment room was very nice and Maria in the office was exceptionally good. We shall be back yet again

We arrived on friday evening, if youre travelling by train it works out much cheaper to get a short taxi ride which costs £5.00 to drop you right at the door rather than waiting for a bus that costs about £4 each. When we arrived it was SKABOUR weekend so the hotel was extremely busy, it wasnt a problem but would have been nice to have been prewarned as it wasnt really a family atomsphere. I booked through and paid on arrival (just make sure you bring photo id if you intend to pay cash). Our room was on the 5th floor, it was very spacious, had a seaview and most importantly clean. I was a bit worried we would experience alot of noise due to the music and amount of people but we honestly didnt hear a thing all weekend whilst in the room. As some other reviews state the ceiling tiles were stained and the bathroom wasnt amazing but the bedsheets we clean and looked like a brand new carpet had been laid. We had a bit of an issue with the door as the lock was pretty much on the verge of coming off, if you stood outside and pushed hard enough you could have got in, but after explaining to reception that we didnt feel secure we were told maintainance would be up to look and was offered another room. Within 10 minutes of getting some fresh air and deciding to move rooms the lock had been secured and we decided not to change rooms. We didnt eat here so cant comment on the food but we did make use of the pool. It cost £4 per adult and £2 per child, no complaints about the heated pool or changing facilities both were very clean and we enjoyed our swim. I can see that the hotel is trying to modernise decor wise and i understand with such a large hotel this will take time but little and often they will get there. I would definately stay here again as its in a great location and we didnt really have any issues.

Stayed here for one night only - luckily. The room was clean enough and had a TV, kettle and extra pillows. However, the decor was very poor. The wallpaper was scratched and torn in places, the ceiling was very bad - looked like it was going to fall down in parts (right above our heads!) and was very dirty and dusty with water stains in places. The shower did not work - when we spoke to reception they advised they would fiddle with the boiler - however, this was not the problem. The water simply did not heat from the shower but did in the taps. So we had no shower all weekend. The lifts are painfully slow and stop at every level regardless of what button you press, with one being permanently out of order. The main seating areas have old furniture which is scratched and saggy. In fact everything was just old and grimy. The food is mass produced and therefore was cold and tasteless, but is edible and if you got a good deal on the hotel I guess it's not the worst meal you will ever have. I wouldn't really recommend this hotel, there are lots nicer ones for perhaps even less money in the area.

Travelled with National Holidays again to this hotel for a getaway to France and Canterbury this hotel is starting to look tired the decor of the hotel and rooms need updating the beds were comfortable but the bathroom and room we had was showing its wear and tear,the food was good hot and plenty of variety bit rushed at times but due to delays caused by French strikes not the hotel the bar prices have shot up compared to previous visits the staff were all friendly and eager to please The coach driver Bob was excellent great fun and knowledgeable kept as best as traffic would allow to the timetables would recommend National Holidays for coach trips as this was a bargain for us and there are still some good deals available.

Booked via which shoes fantastic pictures of the rooms. As does the Britannia website. When in reality you get a horrific unclean below basic room where the rats are checking out as you check in. Dirty stained linen and towels. Wonky artwork and mouldy bath seals. From hairs on the carpets to kebab left in the bin. This is a horrible horrible place. No hot water and reception staff that don't care. I can't believe this place is still open. It's vile, filthy and not worth the £130 I paid for two nights when travel lodge is cheaper and immaculate. I would strongly recommend people avoid this place. It's horrific.

Shocking is all that can be said for this place. It would or could be a nice hotel if it wasn't so neglected. There were stains on the decorative pillows, stains on the ceiling. I washed in the sink as the bath was cracked and worn away. Only 1 towel and mold in the grout. The entrance was far from inviting and the tide of worn leather sofas was not apealing. Staff were less than friendly apart from a friendly waitress in the dusty dining room, which again has the potential to be pretty impressive but the cobwebs hanging from the crumbling coving, walls that looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the smoking ban came into effect and chandeliers that boasted the same brown tarnish. The room cost £62 breakfast another £5 each although when booking you are lead to believe that breakfast was included. I'd like to say that you get what you pay for. But I would not pay to stay here again. We slept in our clothes. Need I say more?!

Hotel is quite dated but for the money it's brilliant. Had a room on the 7th floor with large windows and a fantastic view of the harbour ....rooms are smoking which is very strange . We are both non smokers but the room did not smell of cigarettes.... Food was Great, good selection and staff are very attentive. Bingo and evening entertainment is a bonus Will definitely visit again but would book a room with a balcony.

Great value for money, we booked dinner, bed and breakfast for a very good price. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Jess on reception. The bedroom was a good size with a nice view over the harbour, decor was a bit dated, but was still clean and comfortable. The evening meal was a buffet with a reasonable choice (we ate quite late). Breakfast was also buffet with a good variety of cereals, full English breakfast and fruits. There was good evening entertainment on Friday night. The hotel is in a great location on the harbour, within a few minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes to the shops
