I traveled down with my family last Saturday. We didn't know there was a Country and Western convention going on, so we couldn't park at the hotel. But there is a car park just over the road, so that wasn't a problem. The rooms were surprisingly big and the bathroom actually had a bath in it. Ok, the towels were worn and small and the furnishings could have been better, but the hotel was quite cheap to stay in, so you get what you pay for. We went downstairs and saw some of the entertainment, although there were no seats available as it was so packed, but I thought it was really good. We were on the fifth floor and didn't hear any noise at all. The only thing is the mattress was too hard for me. But the location by the harbor was excellent. We didn't eat breakfast as we had to leave early, but if you're after a reasonably priced hotel in a great location, this hotel could be for you. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Room in the basement, below the car par with a view of a metal shipping container. Room very hot. Could only access the bed from one side as jammed against wall. One of the two towels provided was dirty. Breafast was just dire. It was just awful.
One night stop over with wife. Light tasty snack for dinner in a clean friendly bar. Room was great, modern and warm. Huge comfy bed and clean bathroom. Huge breakfast selection and fresh too. Let us stay on past check out time with complementary coffee as we waited for our ferry time at Dover
booked 2 nights omg . To start no parking.. Requested a room with easy access etc because i am disabled ,end up on 4th floor room was so far away from the lift I was in agony. Had to get help in and out of the shower ..(using towels the size of hand towels) ..no rails to help me. No remote for tv. good things ..bed was clean and breakfast was good . Be aware The que at reception for keys etc was a looongg time.
Travelled down on a Sunday night for a Monday morning visit to Calais, extra £3.50 to park but still great value for money. Slowly but surely looks like they're renovating the place and could not fault our room for cleanliness (bar the toilet brush which needed throwing out and a 49p replacement!). Read reviews about this place being popular with more senior folk on package deals, you know what if you can't beat them join them! Would definitely stay again!
Would not stay again but ok if you work late and leave early. WiFi does not work and there is no free parking. Must say the views outside are very nice, but that’s it.. leaks of water In the roof, no shower gel or towels supplied. Very poor in my opinion.
The Three Star rating is falling into a black hole. The bed springs played me a tune as I turned over. Bathroom in need of complete refurbishment with cracked sink, old calcified taps and peeling sealant. Only two very slow and creaky lifts working. Food was OK . Spa area staff trying to make the most of what they have Needs a cash injection.
Stayed last week for a couple of nights ! Read all the negative reviews . I was very sureprised how nice it was . Minds a cabaret show the room was spotless overlooking The Harbour ! Didn’t eat their but it looked ok ! No problems would stay their again
Take a look at my reviews. I travel a lot across Europe and have stayed in five star hotels and four star. Three star. Even two star.. but by Christ the grand burstin should be ashamed. It is disgusting. I stayed for one night here waiting for a coach trip to bolounge. Dirty doesn't even begin to describe the room. Paint peeling off the walls. Cold. No heating. Shower coming off the wall. Carpet full of cigarette burns. Shower curtain mouldy. Bed covers had a blood stain on. Beware the burstin. The only good part of this hotel is the staff who came to change the covers. Yuck. Avoid.
Lovely room and very warm and cosy! The spa was fab. The staff were really welcoming and lovely in there. Will definitely use the spa again. Lovely time all round in the hotel, felt very at home and happy.
