Spa Hotel Thermal – I.P Pavlova 2001/11 Karlovi Vary Spa hotel Thermal or Thermal hotel I am still confused with the name. Both names are used on their website and business card. We were on a business FAM trip to Karlovi Vari and spent one night in this hotel. Ideal location, walking distance to market Colonnade, on the way you can taste from the numerous spring water, shop from the beautiful gift shops and even branded shops. I stayed in a standard room and the layout of the room is very uncomfortable. Two single beds in a line, like school hostel. Toilet closet is in a separate small room like a cabinet. You have to physically go out to the next room after your business, to use the bidet and shower, which will be quite embarrassing and impossible if you are sharing the room with your family or a friend. Don’t expect complementary water, tea or coffee, not even a kettle in the room. There is Wifi but very slow. A/c was not properly cooling, when informed, they promised to send someone but nobody turned up. The next day morning I heard a similar complaint from our fellow passenger about the TV which was faulty but never got it repaired until check-out. However the rooms and the “toilet” and bathroom are very clean. I stayed in a river view room and the view from the balcony is amazing. It’s a spa hotel where people are also coming for treatment which reflects in their buffet dinner and breakfast, reminds me of hospital canteen. One good thing I noticed they have a dietitian at the restaurant to take care of the diet of the patients. Be careful about choosing a table, many of them are reserved by room number. I saw just a number “617”,at a vacant table for two, I thought it was the table number and occupied the table. In the middle of my breakfast I saw an angry waitress questioning me for using a reserved table for room number 617. When she realized that she forgot to keep the “reserved” sign, she immediately place it on my table, even though there were vacant tables available. If the guest walks in at that time, she is clean and I am the culprit. Thanks for the professional service. After check-out I visit the hotel toilet behind the reception. Much below my expectation from a 4 star hotel, so smelly, unhygienic and dirty closets. Immediately I brought the matter to the attention of the management, I don’t know if they care. Even though, it doesn’t have the ambiance and service level of a 4 star hotel, location wise it is very much recommended.
pretty ugly from the outside but quite nice on the inside. room was fine and the location great. the reception lady was probably the grumpiest person on this planet, not very welcoming. wellness area was nice but not enough chairs if it's busy, which is a shame. parking there is really easy, buffet breakfast was a lot of choice and very nice. we would come back!
Very bad services & they lie to costumers & they charge as per person since I booked for 3 guest even staff was very rode & they don't talk nice with guest even I try to contact manger in hotel but not chance
if you want to give your body & mind a break, go for 1 week treatment. good value for money, not a luxury hotel but acceptable if you are thinking budgeted one. excellent treatment and the best value for money
There are good bits and bad bits to this hotel but netted off it was a pleasant stay. The good bits were It's a great central location. Very near to everything you could want The food was nice The spa was good The view was great It was clean and the rooms were attended to daily The staff were helpful If you were convalescing for some illness this would be an ideal place as they have a medical centre on one of the floors The not so good bits The rooms were a bit tired looking. The decor could do with some attention . It's not 4 star standard The hotel is is set in a shopping mall that has seen better days Street beggars greeted me on the way in to the hotel The actual architecture of the hotel reminds me of a car park in a run down city in the north of England. -Note there is a huge debate about the historical importance of this architecture due to the Russian influence but it did not work for me. Lastly although the staff were helpful they all looked miserable. The management really need to develop a culture that promotes smiling and enthusiasm. Having said all of the above the good bits outweigh the bad so I would still recommend it if the price was right.
I was sceptical of this hotel when we booked our package stay because of its brutalist exterior reminiscent of communist influence but was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was, lovely staff and best of all it's location.
This hotel is clean and excellent.Staffs are nice.Foods are great.Wifi is definitely strong. The view from the floor we have it's amazing.Just have a wonderful stay there.Better place to stay for a tour in Karlovy Vary.
Great location. right in the center. So easy to walk to Spa area or the town itself. The SPA area is for 20 people. Overtime we went there there was 40 people plus. SO you had to dodge people in the pool, and wait in lines to use sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. Rooms all well equipped but worn out through heavy use. All staff are helpful and nice. They plan to sole reconstruct hotel soon over next two years.
Rooms are convenient & enough for a spa stay. View from the room terrace is great. quality of food improved a lot. During our stay ( mid to end September 2016) there were several street & indoor concerts.
This hotel has a long tradition and should bring sense of spa and glamour, but yet is just on the standard of 3 star hotel (not sure if this is really classification). It is centrally located and famous, we had a conference there, AC was not properly working, so the air in the room was usually heavy, but than the lobby was very chilly. Staff is not really happy to say you or serve, we had lunch and buffet was organised funny - we had to pass obstacles to go around it, the choice of food was poor, no coffee added to the lunch and juice and tea mashines were not filled enough. At the reception lady was not very kind or trained and the public toilet was locked! Did not stay in the rooms, but after conference experience would not even try.
