We enjoyed our time at Fairmont Orchid. Clean room and friendly staff. Great Job Fairmont Orchid! My only request is I wish they had a store in the resort with more groceries goods for those late night cravings :).

We were at the Fairmont Orchid on Christmas day. It was very busy, and I think the hotel was noticeably struggling to keep up (but its Christmas so this is somewhat understandable). Given the circumstances, it was still an amazing stay. The highlight was the snorkeling just outside their beach.

Terrific resort. Very relaxing and friendly. The restaurant is overpriced, but there's a number of dining options available within a short distance.

Beautiful hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Only negative was our room was long walk to main desk, restaurants, and husband has mobility problems so there were problems until we contacted desk and got some help with a cart/ wheelchair.

5 star luxury just outside of Kona. Excellent service!

great attentive staff....quick check in...unfortunately no loyalty points while booking on Orbitz

This hotel is close to beach, or rather to a little Bay - good for children - but for adults it doesnt even reach any eyebrows. Hawaii has Dream beaches, but the water in front of this resort is dissapointing. So dissapointing I wouldnt recommend it. Ive been to Hawaii before...years ago, and this time we only had time for 8 nights stay, and we choose to give a go to Fairmont Orchid. Three people..two adults and one Girl teenager. Quality is expensive, but if you pay for it you expect to get it too. Here not...I mean why add 30 USD/Night for towels and a simple chairbed, and why in Earth not include or at least give the possibility to include the breakfast when you book. Its ridiculous to pay more than 100 USD Per breakfast...especially when the teenager eat one croissant and two small Nutella. And the quality of the breakfast buffet was far from European standard. Selection of restaurants/beach cafes were poor. Its not recommended to stau at Fairmont Orchid resort without renting a car...you cannot get a decent impression of Hawaiis beauty by staying only at the resort, hence rental car is the best possibility: 1) you Can reach Real beaches, 2) at Fairmont Orchard snorkling were poor...other than turteldue which was the highlight at our stay 3) you Can reach other places for meals. The hotel were clean, and most of the personal were friendly...but in the reception it was roulette...some were very friendly, others were not really serviceminded. It was dissapointing stay

My trip to the Fairmont Orchid was AMAZING!!! This was my first time flying since I was 11 and I’m 31 now so my phobia of flying was broken when I decided to go to Hawaii and I’m so glad I went! Every single person there was amazing, super nice, always cheerful and smiling!! I had the most wonderful experience there. So many things to do, so many places to go! I can’t even express how amazing the staff was! From housekeeping to the concierge answering the phone with my silly questions!! I had so much fun! From the cultural hike, the hula lessons, being able to snorkel, the ki'i pohaku hike! To laying on the beach watching the sunset! The views were gorgeous!! A+ for the staff!!! Kristen, Elijah, Joel, Josiah, everyone there was amazing. I loved it!! And to top off my trip was the luau!! The only bad thing about it was leaving there lol I wish I could stay but I will definitely be returning!! Amazing is all I can say! Words can’t express how much fun I had and what an experience it was!! A++

This is a really nice hotel, especially for the cost. It was originally a Ritz Carlton but later was bought by Fairmont. If you’ve stayed at other Fairmont properties (Chateau de Frontenac in Quebec City, Banff Springs, Grand Del Mar, etc), then you know they do things right. I’ve stayed at the Ritz in Maui and would pick this hotel over that one. The protected lagoon is great for kids, and it has a nice bar right next to it for the parents. Staff are friendly. Great hotel.

Fantastic sums it up- first rate hotel. Similar to four seasons Maui.

Awesome! In room dining was great, the grounds immaculate,

From the valet to the hotel staff - very nice Would gladly come again

Staff needs to be retrained professionally: They can’t tell the difference between tea to soup spoon . I waited entire breakfast duration for them to fill my water glass. They still sit in their chair when I approached to ask some questions. They get annoyed if I ask too many questions. They are too quick to assumed the worse without the fact check. Then the food: I paid $35.00 for eggplant in miso dressing!. Same old buffet! every day! . Most of the day’s staff don’t pay any attention to emthey dishes on

Snorkeling with sea turtles from the hotel beach. Lots of equipment rentals available, great service

Absolutely gorgeous resort. Like something out of a movie.
