Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Nice location. Tge event we were in town for was cancelled but the hotel offered shuttles to downtown anyway. The complimentary shampoo items smelled soooo good! Free breakfast in the morning would be nice.
Place was clean inside and out They Advertise there restaurant for steak Place was like a ghost town Steak was over done and server acted as if she had better things to do then serve me. Spilled water on table and left it there........very slow in kitchen when I was one of 2 people eating. To many other places close to the hotel to eat and get better service and food. Front Desk staff was Great (John) always happy and helpful!
My wife and I travel often and come to Battle Creek, Michigan from six to eight times a year. The city is great, however the Holiday Inn here is not quality or quantity driven. The gentleman at the front desk was rude and also was caught being dishonest. The rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves unless you upgrade to king size business class. No complementary breakfast, not even toasts. Our smallest tv in our house is much bigger than the one in our motel room. That is okey, because our room had reception issues. The WiFi was equally difficult to maintain. Rooms were clean though. We have stayed here in Battle Creek at other motels that were clean, had refrigerators and microwaves, good WiFi and TV, and complementary breakfast, for less than half this price and didn't have a rude front desk clerk.
The front desk staffs were easy to deal with. The room we stayed in on the fifth floor seems big, room air-conditioner worked well. Exercise room nice and sizeable swimming pool but small for 3 to 4 families. The breakfast is not free here.
We were in Battle Creek for a softball tournament. Arrived on Friday afternoon, and our room wasn't ready, which was not a big deal. My daughter changed into her uniform in the lobby bathroom. When we got into our room later that evening it was pleasant, but warm so we turned up the air conditioning. By the time we were getting ready for bed the carpeting by the wall unit was wet, not just damp, but wet, and cold. I told the front desk in the morning and they sent maintenance to dry it. Long story short, the carpet was still/again wet Saturday night, and we had to put towels on the floor to walk around. I asked the front desk about the "guarantee of quality" or whatever they call it in the literature. Was told to call when the manager was there. When I reached her 3 days later, I received a $25.00 refund for each night. Consider the fact that we reserved nearly 40 rooms at $150.00 a night, I think a $25.00 refund is a pretty lousy way to thank a team who all combined spent $12,000.00 to sleep for two nights. On top of that, if you want anything warm for breakfast, it's an extra charge. You can have the Kellogg's cereal or Post cereal they are so proud of for free.
Very standard hotel yet showing its age in some respects. Good breakfast in the lobby, yet not free as in a Express hotel. Room way very adequate with great WiFi. Cocktail lounge in the lobby was a great gathering location after a long day on the road.
The holiday inn for me has never really been "special", but it is a really good utilitarian hotel. It gets the job done. Does it have a great pool? No, but it is adequate for young kids. Is the gym world class? No, but it has a couple of treadmills and some weights. Do they serve an amazing breakfast in the morning? No, but it is good enough. You get the gist. I would recommend it as long as you set your expectations at the appropriate levels. Oh, the staff WAS really nice! I have to raise my review a bit higher for them!
What I like about this place is the feel it gives you, the staff go out of their way to accommodate, it's clean ,and has a great location. ..the front desk manager Kelly Blackston was very helpful with my situation. ..something I don't come across often. ..thank you Kelly..
Neat Holiday Inn. They are enhancing there image with this hotel. They have a good gym and pool. There is a restaurant too. There staff was friendly. They seem to be a little busy so I guess they are in demand. Good location and plenty of places to eat near by.
I will never be staying in another holiday inn after my experience here. I was double charged for a room and now management is only "considering" giving me my money back for ONE of the charges. What makes things worse is that I was told I was given their absolute lowest price on a room since I was originally planning to stay with them for 3 days a week for 7 weeks but what they charged me when I checked out was $200 less than their "lowest possible price". I was really looking forward to their close proximity to Binder Park Zoo where I will now be commuting 2 hours to for the next 7 weeks just so so do not have to deal with this holiday inn anymore.
