The bathroom needs some work. Wall peeling behind sink. NO towel racks to hang up any of your towels, not even by the sink. Seemed clean enough, just worn. The bed was very comfortable!

Room was dated, cold, drafty and bathroom floor needs to be replaced. No place to put your clothes and no towel racks in bathroom. Bar down stairs was excessively loud until after midnight. Will never stay here again and will not recommend

The building is very old (the oldest hotel in Alaska) but it was a great stay. I never had any issues. I couldn't open my window because I was on the 2nd floor and the building looked to be built into the mountain so there was a lot of foliage right outside my window, but they provided a box fan. There was a Daddy Longlegs spider on the ceiling but I left him alone and he left me alone. I would stay here again.

This isn’t a hotel that everyone will like. It’s old and historic. It’s quirky and odd. There is no elevator. Many rooms don’t have a private bathroom and the rooms I’ve stayed in that do leave a bit to be desired. They are not too diligent about maintenance— stuff will be broken. You will hear noise/music from the bar downstairs. It’s also cheaper than most of the accommodations in the area. This is a place to stay for a night or two. If you want comfort and convenience this isn’t the hotel for you. This is a basically clean place and if you like interesting places to stay, this is it.

The staff here are very friendly, and my room was exactly what I expected. The hotel is very conveniently located downtown, which, expectedly, comes with downtown noises. There isn't any AC, but the room cooled down at night to a comfortable level. The "biggest" issue I had was that the bed was very squeaky and was loud any time I had to shift around. Overall, I had a good experience here.

Unique experience. A look at old Alaska and Juneau. I enjoyed it. Not a place for people with mobility issues for sure. The only down side wasn’t the hotel but the numerous cruise ships. Plan to do things as early as possible to avoid the crowds in the afternoon. Unless you like crowds.

I chose this hotel for the history and the vibe of it all did not disappoint. I knew to expect an older facility so it is an old hotel with slanted floors and visible wear and tear. But it was a really fun experience to stay in a hotel with such history. My only complaint is there parking. There are only about 6 actual spots and you drive down a steep hill behind the hotel to get to the small lot. It is in bad need of some work at the bottom of the hill. My car kept scraping the pavement going over that part. But other than that, the hotel was great. It's in a location with stores and food all around it. Would definitely stay again.

Tiny rooms, very antiquated. Be happy that there is electricity. Major amount of skinny stairs with nails protruding, very steep with inadequate railing. Our queen room with ensuite was about 12' x 12', that included the bathroom which was put in the closet. It did have a small electric stove right next to the sink - odd placement. Extremely pricey for what you get. Almost $200 a night in a place that, while historic, has not had any real improvements since it was built in the 1800's. The light fixtures are all 50+ years old. It is right in the middle of downtown, so it is very convenient to shopping, bar hopping, and dining.
