Nice Hotel downtown Juneau. What more can I say? ww

This hotel was nice and clean. It was centrally located near shops and restaurants. However, it was very noisy. I think because it's an older hotel, the walls must be very thin. So if you stay here and want to sleep, bring some good ear plugs.

The location of the Baranof Hotel is excellent. Walking distance from everything downtown in Juneau. It's an older hotel, and we knew this going in.....but the TV remote did not work properly. It was very hot the day we arrived and spent the first night very hot - hard to sleep. They provided a small oscillating fan, but it wasn't enough to cool down the room (Juneau doesn't have AC as they usually don't need it). The beds were good - very comfortable, but the bathrooms are small (a consequence of this being an older hotel) and the bathrooms have no fans or exhaust fans so it gets quite stuffy and hot. It was a good value, and again the location is excellent.

Hotel is older with small elevators. Staff is friendly. Rooms are small but well maintained.

My room was haunted on the 4th floor! The steak and eggs for breakfast was quite good.

Staff at check in inefficient and surly. Room was okay.

Centrally located and worked well for my purposes. One improvement I will suggest is that they have a sign that one can see at night. I drove past the hotel and ended up on a road that took me a long way on a narrow street and made getting to the hotel very difficult.

There are not many options in Juneau. Location is great and close just to everything! Understable that hotel is not new and rooms while on smaller side are still ok. But there is probably no sound insulation whatsoever: phone conversation and sneezing next room was literally heard as it is here.

Perfect location. Can walk everywhere easily. Arrived early and was told check in only starts at 3pm. Really. Most flights leaves early in the morning so many early check outs. Walls are paper thin and flushing toilets sounds like a hurricane. Doors seems to shut with a bang too, so forget trying to take a nap in the afternoon. Room was warm so opened the window just to be entertained by the homeless in the street below. Called the front desk around 7 pm for some extra towels. Was told that housekeeping had gone home and that a bellman will bring them. 9pm I went to the front desk to remind the agent that the towels still have not arrived. I asked if somebody could take them up to the room. Ummmm they never arrived. When checking out I asked the agent if she could please print my bill. She said no. Bizarre. Another agent came to the rescue. I stay in hotels about a 100 nights a year. This experience will not be repeated.

Reasonable hotel in city center, a bit worn and renovations ongoing around it.

Super expensive price for old run down hotel. Creepy hallway. Smelly dark workout room. Was bummed to pay so much for this place in the off season. I think I’ll stay elsewhere next time. I’m always cold but as per other reviews, this place was very toasty. Had to sleep w a fan pointed at me and get ready w theee windows open in winter.

We booked two stays a week apart and missed the first one due to flight interruptions. The night manager wouldn't even speak to us on the phone about alternate arrangements. During the second stay my wife was seeking an apple or piece of fruit before we went walking as she has sugar issues. The manager's response was let her order a fruit basket from some other company. What a jerk! The rest of the staff was helpful and professional with the concierge in particular stepping up to give us directions to a nearby grocery after the managers embarrassing response.

The hotel was an older building, quaint, comfortable. The room was cozy and well equipped. Our beds were so comfy. Though we turned up the heat, the room remained quite cool during the nights. There was a slight odor to the room, though -- aged wood? Carpeting? Other than an access panel behind the bathroom mirror falling down, and waking to no running water one morning, our stay was fine. Friendly service, prompt assistance.

The hotel was as described. Enjoyed our stay. The restaurant served plentiful and good food. The environment was old fashioned, but clean and the service was good.

Let’s just say this hotel added a certain degree of adventure to the whole Alaskan experience…It was rated 3 stars but that is stretching it to say the least. The building is very old and it rains a lot up there so the hallway outside our room smelled musty and mildewy. We booked a 4 night stay with a standard king room. At the last minute our son decided to stay with us…I called ahead and asked for a roll away bed for our room. It was waiting for us upon our arrival. That was the only positive. The roll away bed did not fit anywhere in the room. When I called the front desk they suggested taking the mattress off the springs and sliding part of the mattress under our king bed…but we had to do a lot of furniture rearranging to even get that to work…it left us no walk space at the end of our bed. It was either that or in the short hall outside the bathroom with part of the mattress going up the wall…we laid the mattress at the end of our bed…but by the foot of the roll away mattress there was a very strong urine and BO smell. Our bathroom tub was half full of water because of a leaky faucet and the drain plug in place…once removing the drain plug we could deal with the leaky faucet. At this point I went and asked the front desk if we could upgrade to a larger room because of everything, plus there was no fridge in the room which I was told specifically that there was maybe…??? They were totally booked 2 of our 4 nights. We had a sack of food that they labeled and placed in the hotel kitchen fridge. That was nice of them too. This hotel is conveniently located however if you are traveling with small children there are quite a few homeless and intoxicated people panhandling money every time you come and go up and down the street. That made things a little more interesting and cut down our desire to go out after 9…

The room was adequate, but very crowded with a double and a twin bed, leaving little room to maneuver. Don't accept room 303, at least in the warm months, as the bathroom window is right above the kitchen exhaust. Despite the cramped quarters, the bright side of the Baranof is its restaurants. The café serves a very good breakfast and the main dining rooms was truly outstanding with and creative chef, very good wine list and great service.

The Baranoff Hotel is an older art deco style hotel in a great location in the center of town. You can walk everywhere. To get views you need to be on one of the top couple of floors facing the harbor. Staff was very nice and polite. Rooms were smallish and dated but clean and the beds were comfortable. Would not want to stay out by the airport in newer motels unless I had a car. We did several excursions and ate at a different restaurant every night within a short walk. I would stay there again.

Cosy and clean room. Hotel located right in the heart of Juneau within walking distance of shops, restaurants and waterfront. Great view of the mountain from our room.

My room was one of the older rooma (which was not remodeled like the higher floors) for the lower price I paid. I would have paid an extra 10 bucks for a better room. Otherwise, the service was awesome and friendly.

Thank you for the nice response and the suggestion to provide ear plugs. We will be taking this seriously and making sure we have some available as we are an older hotel and the economy rooms can have thinner older walls.

Though we are pleased you enjoyed yourself in general, we regret that you experienced an inconvenience regarding your tv remote and how warm the hotel was during those hot days.
