THE FOREST Our small treehouse Cabin opens to the outdoors for views and direct exposure to the forest. This exposure to nature provides a wonderful inspirational relaxing effect. Japanese call it 'Shinrin-Yoku' which translates to 'forest bathing'. The idea is simple: If a person visits a natural area and walks in a relaxed way, there are calming, rejuvenating and restorative benefits to be achieved. Studies have documented reduced stress, lower blood sugar, better concentration, diminished pain, improved immunity...
Taking in this forest atmosphere has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Researchers have established a robust body of scientific literature on health benefits of spending time under the canopy of a living forest. Many trees give off organic compounds that support “NK” (natural killer) cells that are part of our immune system's way of fighting cancer.
JOHN MUIR wrote: “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home. Wilderness is a necessity.”

Truly Into The Woods
Incredible location and Cabin/Treehouse even better than description/Photos. Unfortunately, it rained all three days of stay which limited our activities. Fortunately with a Spa/Hot Tub the interior was very cozy, clean and all the amenities one needs. Beautiful view and would definitely go back! It was a real hidden gem!

Lovely romantic cabin
We loved our stay. The cabin was very cozy and the surroundings were beautiful, even if we couldn't see much due to the foggy misty weather we had. It made it feel like we were in a cloud, which was cool. The jacuzzi was great and very much needed! The place is awesome but not for someone who has trouble climbing tons of stairs. Just a tip, consider whether you have the strength and stamina to make multiple trips up and down to your car carrying luggage or heavy bags. We made it, but we know now exactly how out of shape we are! Even so, we would love to come back.

Incredibly well equipped
Should you forget anything, the chances are they will have it. We brought a bunch of blue apron meals to cook in the well-appointed kitchen but forgot salt, pepper, and oil. No problem. It was all there. The property manager even left us a sweet little welcome package. We fell in love with the little knight wine holder, whom we've named Sir Apothic, after our wine bottle. It was stormy outside the entire time but that was the perfect setting for us to enjoy movies, cooking, and the wonderful hottub. Oh and we even spotted some wild turkeys. This is an amazing property and we can't wait to come back in the summer to try out the hiking.Be aware that they aren't joking about the stairs. We are both incredibly fit and still got really tired taking all of our stuff up into the cabin. It was more vertical than I think we expected. We made sure to eat all our food so we didn't have to take anything back down! The hot water is plentiful. I'm guessing they have an instant hot water heater. Having a washer and dryer was great for drying out our clothes and towels. And this is probably the easiest checkout I've done in a VRBO. They don't require you to strip beds, start laundry, start the dishes, or any of the stuff we've encountered in other places. Just get your stuff out in time for the housekeeper. We tried to leave it really tidy so she didn't have extra work, though. The one chore required, which was putting the garbage can out on Thursday night. Easy.

Wonderful deck!
This vintage cabin has been updated with all the necesssary modern amnities, although staying true to its roots in decor (kitchy). The favorite part of our stay was relaxing on the deck, surrounded by trees, enjoying the lake view and watching the birds and squirrels. It felt secluded in a good way. We were pleased to see that spices and oils were stocked in the kitchen as well as plenty of dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and utensils. The floors were impeccably clean, so we had no qualms going barefoot. The AC worked well. We fell in love with the reverse osmosis water filtration in the kitchen; the water tasted wonderful. The stairs to the cabin were challenging for bringing in our luggage and food...quite a workout. Packing lightly is recommended!
Also highly recommended is taking a tour of the California Wolf Center.

Fabulous!
We both enjoyed the Treehouse inside and out. The views were magnificent. Weather was great. It was neat to see the fog come down and sweep past us during the storm the last night there! It’s so quiet and peaceful. Everyone in town was marvelous and the town restaurants were delicious too! Our favorite part…the 91 steps up and down! LOL You do get used to them and keeps your weight down! Oh and also the enormous pine cones! We don’t have them that size here in Delaware! We would definitely stay here again if we make it back! Thank you for such and cute little cabin and all the history on the walls!

The cabin/treehouse was wonderful, relaxing and a place to enjoy the views and nature. This was one of my bucket list thing s I wanted to do. I turned 65 this year and my daughter gave me a gift card to go to a treehouse. I was worried about the stairs, but I just had to go. It was everything i want it, just perfect.
