If you are used to 4-5* western standard do not choose this hotel. It is worn down and not the standard you would expect from a Thistle hotel. *** star hotel......maximum. Hotel staff is very friendly.
The hotel is awesome. Nice breakfast. Nice view from my room. Excellent service from staff. Lots of food places nearby hotel. Hotel provide free shuttle to places like legoland and johor premium outlet. Overall its a great place to stay. Will consider coming back here for future trip.
Thistle was really nice and good hotel. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, so hotel management upgraded our room to junior suite for free. It was really nice to have separate living room, bed room + really big patio at the eight floor with sea view! Hotel has a nice pool area and gym, really help full and joy full staff and great looking facilities. Hotel is in quite good overall condition all thougt years can be seen little here and there (building has been there for over 20 years). Rooms were at excellent condition and renovated lately. One small minus comes from food. At buffet food quality was 3/5 and restaurant by the pool 5/5, but price level excpecially at the pool restaurant was expensive. We enjoyed and we can recommend Thistle JB for anyone looking a good value for money.
Ok the bed sheets are clean. Rooms are big. But the toilet is a little run down. There's no bath robes provided. The brushes of the toothbrush fell off as you brush. So do bring ur own. Its easy to use grab/Uber to move around. There's 24hr KFC and Macs nearby.
This was formerly Hyatt Hotel in JB but now changed name to Thistle Hotel. It has a new management team that oversee past mistakes, setbacks and disappointments of past guests' comments about this property. They are trying to fix the system in placed and make do with whatever they can to provide guests with better services and satisfaction. Although it will take time, efforts, energy & financially to place itself amongst the best four star hotels in JB. Currently, the services has improved and staff are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The area is spacious and great for families and individual travelers. It also has good parking spaces at the back and covered underground areas with great banquet halls and meeting rooms available to suit your requirements. This hotel has frequent royal and VVVIP visitors patronizing the property, which demonstrated the hotel maintain certain standards to these important guests. Look at the bright and positive side of things. Even the MAS cabin crew stayed here.

I not the first timer for this hotel. I been requested for the next door room due traveling with young kids. I had register in the early morning but only check in at late nite. End up my 2 rooms was few door away and each room only have 1 access card! The reason given by hotel management are over given access card to the client in the morning. My credit card had been validated and charge me in the morning but when I check in the late nite, your front line need my card to validated again. Where is your company standard? To the management team, this a at least 4 stars hotel, but I can only rated your hotel at 2 start now. For this visit, it is very disappointing me and confirmed that I will not come back again!
well, i saw the feedback is like most of it bad comment. but its different with us (me and my family) yes its true the hotel is not giving us 100% satisfied for the service. but base what we see there, their a most friendly staff and its like their already do the best for giving the service. specially staff at the front desk Sabree also the Sabahan ladies at the lounge lisa.thanks for the welcoming us! BAD -the room and the surrounding .look little old.need more deco or renovate maybe.
Please go for a better hotel if you can. We were excited to spend a week in Thistle JB as we thought it was a good 4 star hotel. We got the executive room thinking that it would be a better option. When were first arrived, we were given a room on level 12 which the aircond was not working. They were kind enough to change our rooms but we ended with a room that smelled damp instead. By this time we were just too tired to change rooms. The pool was ok but cleanliness was questionable. The water was dark and the view from one end to another was non existent. The floors were slippery and not just because its wet! The worst for us was housekeeping. They never bothered vacuuming the floor. For 6 days we had to bear it despite telling them to clean it up. Everyday there were issues - they forgot to clear the towels, they didnt change the glasses, they didnt make the bed properly etc etc. And this was supposed to be an executive floor.... One relief was the guy from housekeeping that was working the PM shift on saturday 23/12. We had an accident on the bed. He came by and attended to it speedily. On top of that he gave our room a clean for a second time. Thank you for coming to our rescue. Another huge disappointment was breakfast. Plenty of choice but cleanliness was horrible. The waiters didnt bother to clean the mess where food was served , glasses, plates and cups were dirty and the list just goes on and on. It was not a 4 star hotel standard for sure. It’s sad that they just dont try to make it a Thistle standard hotel. I would avoid this hotel next time.
Check in is veeeeeerrrrrryyyyyy slow. Even 4 counters are open, there are at least 3 people waiting at each counter. Turns out the front office have to go up by themselves to check if the room is ready. Don’t hotels normally use walkie talkie for that?! I am sure the hotel can afford it right? The room is okay, but in the shower, it always floods after you showered. Breakfast spread is good - many varieties. But taste - some okay and some so so. Pool is super nice, my kids loved it but the water is quite cold.
