The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable but very dated. The lifts need better maintenance, 2 of 4 had faulty control panels which meant that I couldn't always select the floor I wanted. The pool and sauna are great, however some padded seat covers for the sun lounges would be a great improvement. The gym is like a sauna, no a/c which makes it stifling and uncomfortable to use. Reception staff while being friendly and engaging need greater training, our check-in was really challenging. Breakfast is good, a broad range of food available both local and international. Eggs can be scrambled, fried or omelette but usually like much of the food it is cold by the time you get it which makes it unappetising. This hotel has some great qualities, it's location and friendly staff but needs some significant improvement.

Wrong Room Number Given on Key Card: Upon check-in, I was assigned Room #1914, but the front desk wrote the wrong number #1913 on my key card. As a result, I was unable to access the room and instead tried to open another guest’s room #1913. To my great embarrassment, that guest opened the door, thinking someone was attempting to enter. Room Key Cards Stopped Working: Aug 13, when we got back to hotel at night, both room keys suddenly stopped working. I had to travel from the 19th floor to the ground floor to get them replaced. The front desk issued new keys, but they still failed. I then had to call for help and wait for staff to come up and fix the lock before I could re-enter my room. As of today, there has been no response from the Holiday Villa Management after repeated attempts.

Not bike friendly

Hotel is not bike friendly. The only carpark for bikes is at a road side below the hotel. If you want to park at the hotel, you need to pay 20rm per day! Means if u stay for 3 days, u need to pay 60rm!! That's even more expensive than a car and heck car can park for free if u stay there. I was constantly worried about my bike the whole stay and there's 1 time it was shifted by someone. Felt really unsafe. The toilet does not drain properly. The shower is in the bathtub and it was slippery to get down frm it and the floor right beside the bathtub pooled water. The toiletries like body soap, shampoo and conditioner was too little. Need to ask for more. The wardrobe doors was unable to open close properly. The lighting for the room was good with natural light but at night it was too dimmed. Not enough lighting. Other than that, the cleanliness was good and the breakfast spread was up to standard. They had an infinity pool with a view which is nice.

Holiday Villa Johor Bahru was situated at a good location, whereby just across the street is the KSL mall and also along the road there are a few eateries and massage shops throughout the day🙂🙂🙂. Room and facilities at the hotel are spacious and clean. Not to forget to the housekeeper who clean the Room 1228 for the period 27th July to 28th July 2025. Thank you for all the staffs who make the stay here a pleasant trip😘😘😘. We will be coming back here again whenever we coming in to Johor. Breakfast buffet was quite standard and I like the ambience and the varieties of foods that was available. Good job to the management and to all staffs at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru👍👍👍
