We extended our trip from Utah one day longer to make a detour and see the Painted Hills o. Our way home to the Oregon Coast. We made a last minute reservation in John Day and chose this hotel. Check in was quick and easy and the gentlemen behind the counter was friendly…he even gave me some Lindor chocolates:) The room was clean and had a huge flat screen TV, super comfortable lounge chair and exercise bike! It’s a little outdated, but I could care less. I look for clean and comfortable and it was both!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom sink was slow to drain and the faucet was stiff and difficult to operate –– a minor issue. Overall the motel looked dated with the furnishing having a thrift store look but everything was clean and the stay was pleasant.

Took two tries to finally get the right room. Booked a room with double beds,1st given a two bedroom w/a double bed in each room. Then exchanged that room for another two room, bedroom with a king in one room and and 2 doubles in the next. The king bed in the main room was not clean nor was the bathroom from the previous quest and the owner acknowledged it and said these are clean. They offered laundry, for $2, only one washer that worked. At check out they tried to charge me $3 for the dryer. Very old outdated room s and bathroom. I dont recommend.

Well to start off with the room was very dark and took all of the first evening to warm up. One chair for 2 queen beds, the price was about double of what i was quoted on hotel.com site, and the warm water took about 15 minutes of running to just get to luke warm. Definitely wont stay at this one next time. They didn't even know what kleenexs were

Chill and comfy place to stay for the night. Especially if visiting the fossil beds ! I came with a friend but would feel safe solo too. Owners were super nice ! There’s a bar right next door and a cafe which good drive thru breakfast right down the street within walking. Found a hair in the pillow and a stain on the blanket so only reason it’s not a 5, but it wasn’t a big deal to me personally !

Poor ad and Difficult Communication but Met Needs

Ordered a room with 3 beds; was told only 2 rms not even adjoining were all that was available - with 3 beds separated a ways. In addition, it was very difficult to understand the reception person.

The motel is usually quiet but this stay there were some noisy guests. Although we had a non smoking room a guest from an adjacent room was smoking in the parking lot and the smoke was pulled into our room by the air conditioner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tub/shower in our room wasn’t fully clean and so we didn’t use it. Overall the motel was a good deal even though things could have been a little better. This was my second stay at this property.
