This is an excellent hotel, with comfortable well appointed rooms. The food is original and well presented by friendly but efficient staff who are keen to make your visit enjoyable. I will certainly be visiting it again
We were delighted by the warmth of the staff especially the lady at reception who was first class. The hotel was very nice and had a beautiful view from the restaurant so it was a lovely way to start the day looking out on the harbour while having breakfast. We had dinner one night which was delicious so despite us thinking that the food would be expensive, it wasn't! The lounge area was a peaceful place to enjoy a drink and we were entertained by the beautiful piano playing of Collette on the first evening of our visit. A highlight of our stay.
Amazing hotel the location is excellent uninterrupted views wow. The staff are so help full and willing to spend time and help make your stay fantastic. They're all so good it's hard to pick anyone out in particular. Andre in the bar is a great guy funny and so helpful. The food is great. We're sorry we have to leave. Thank you so much for our stay
Great hotel. Fantastic views round the bay. Restaurant food is excellent. Staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. Hotel is walking distance down to the marina. Our room was a bit of a let down. We were quoted £100 more per night to upgrade which I thought was a bit expensive as we were there for 3 nights.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend break. We could genuinely not find fault with any aspect of our stay at the Somerville. We would recommend the hotel to family and friend's at the drop of a hat. A massive thank you to the management and staff of such a well run establishment.
Yet again the Somerville looked after us well on our annual visit to Jersey. Excellent location close to really good restaurants and transport to other areas of the island. Views from the public rooms are hard to beat especially at sun rise and sun set.
From the time we arrived at the hotel on the Saturday afternoon to the time we left on the Tuesday we were made to feel welcome and as though we were family rather than vising guests. The hotel is beautifully situated to overlook St Aubins Bay and whilst the weather could have been kinder the hotel had plenty of umbrellas! The breakfast sets you up for the day- although you need to leave room for the Jersey scones and cream. There are plenty of organised trips from the hotel should you wish, although the bus service on Jersey is fabulous. This hotel is well situated and we will definitely be back again soon
Hotel’s location is great, overlooking the beautiful harbour with easy access to the main town (St.Helier) and airport. Lovely staff with warm welcome, delicious and great quality of food served in restaurant (recommend to book as they alway busy). The decorations of the room are nice with toiletries supplied. Bus 15, 12,12A and 14 would get you to the hotel, just get off at St.Aubin stop with 5 mins walk up hill (easy to walk which I saw lots of elderly with no problems at all), once you get off the bus, walk toward the restaurant called “The Tenby” along the harbour, keep walking, lots of restaurants on the way, come to the end (would see the yacht club in front across the road), on your right it’s a hill going up to the hotel, this is easy access to the hotel with luggages, it also has a path behind the hotel, another way up to hotel but we find this is more easy to slope downhill, so we tend to use the back path going downhill to bus stop. It’s sure a fantastic hotel and I’m looking forward to come back and stay in my next holiday.
We had lived in Jersey for 5 years and had visited the hotel numerous times previously but never stayed overnight. The food was just as good as we remembered. But sound at night did seem to travel through the walls.
Quaint hotel in a perfect setting. Needs ‘tired’ areas updating and beds replacing. Unfriendly staff particularly in the bar. Will definitely visit Jersey again but maybe try somewhere different to stay.
