Just back from a romantic weekend with my partner. Hotel staff so friendly & helpful especially Carlos. The room was very nicely decorated & had an amazing view of the castle. Bar served some very good cocktails & the breakfast menu had lots of different items to choose from. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Club hotel. The room was fantastic and very clean. The staff where really lovely and helpful, especially the breakfast staff who where all lovely. I read on this site that some didn't like the breakfast room. Which I thought odd as it was a good size room with plenty of room. I did not try the spa as I was out but would recommend this hotel to others.
Visited a year or so ago and was impressed with every aspect but particularly the customer care generated by the entire staff. This time have observed a considerable staff turnover but the ethos still remains which is brilliant staff equals customer care. Restaurant, bar, reception, concierge, cleaning all first class and the service we received in Tassilis was exceptional with thanks to Daniel. Will never go anywhere else when in Jersey as this hotel is superb.
Enjoyed a short 3 night break where this grand hotel has been substantially modernised of late & since a previous stay over a New Year probably 20+ years ago. Excellent location on the Esplanade overlooking Elizabeth Castle, and a brisk walk 10 mins (or gentler 15 min stroll) from the town centre/quay. My 1st floor room had been recently refurbished, with all-new bathroom fittings and a walk-in shower (rather than a bath) which suits me; lovely view, westerly facing, toward St Aubin in the far distance across the bay, with The People's Park in front. Large & comfy Queen-size bed, loads of cupboard and drawer space, writing table & comfy chair with large wall-hung LED TV, free wi-fi. An oddity was the "micro" balcony - in reality about a quarter of a larger balcony of which the neighbouring suite had the Lion's share of 75% - with two chairs facing INWARD and not room to put feet down, totally pointless, imho .... A little noisy in the daytime with ambulances heading into the one-way system to the nearby A&E thru traffic but not a problem in the evening/thru the night. Staff throughout visit were excellent, as others have reported: professional and efficient, friendly but courteous and invariably helpful, whether at the front desk, the bars and restaurant and indeed housekeeping. Top marks.
The staff are very attentive, well trained and keep an eye out if your looking for service. Friday after work drinks, trendy music on terrace and comfortable outdoor sofas. Stayed on for food from their snack menu which was very tasty and exactly as described. Will consider making it a summer regular.
We have stayed at this hotel many times. It was taken over a few years ago and seen a few changes, but it remains a nice clean luxury hotel and lovely breakfast. The best concierge in Jersey works here, his name is Hugo and he has a colleague called Carlos who expertly parked our car every day! Sadly a lot of the restaurant staff have changed and don't quite show the same enthusiasm as the previous staff one morning we didn't receive our tea and toast until after we had eaten our main breakfast. The evening restaurant menu is mainly the same each night with limited desserts so we would recommend bed & breakfast. One efficient waitress to mention was Luminita who always ensured everything was okay. In summary, still a nice hotel, perfectly placed overlooking the stunning Elizabeth Castle.
We had a nice time in Jersey but I'm not sure the hotel did anything to enhance the experience. The positives were: - friendly and helpful staff - terrific location and view - quirky but modern spa and leisure facilities - nice outside bar - comfortable bed We only stayed for 2 nights but had a number of minor issues you wouldn't get in a proper 5 star hotel. I've no idea how it got that rating as we stayed in a 4 star hotel recently that was half the price but double the room size and quality. The same goes for most 4 star hotels. You're really paying for the location. Despite having a deluxe room, it was small and cramped. We ordered room service both days and you could barely fit in the food trays. The toilet was small, dated and awkward. The shower only had two settings; cold or scalding. You couldn't move the shower head so taking a shower was cumbersome. The room had a Toshiba TV that looked older than me. There were very few channels for a '5 star' hotel. The furniture was the same but there was nothing worse than the iron. It was the cheapest of the cheap and was incredibly difficult to iron clothes with. On to some of the minor problems we had. Every time we ordered food, the order was wrong. Day 1 breakfast came with mushrooms and tomato which I asked to be left off. We got a serving of poached eggs and toast that we didn't order. Breakfast also came 15 minutes before the window we gave for breakfast. Night time club sandwiches were cold and not made with good quality ingredients. Again I specifically asked for no side salad and confirmed none was on the sandwich before ordering. Got both. Day 2 breakfast was a puzzler. We got tea instead of coffee with no sugar or milk. I asked for a bacon and egg sandwich but got a bacon sandwich and 2 egg sandwiches. Didn't get any sauces like Day 1. The breakfast was ok in general. Poor quality tea and coffee facilities in the room. The other issue we experienced was not getting a seat at the outside bar. Half the bar was sectioned off for a function that hadn't started and the other half was full. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table in our own hotel. No such problems at the Radisson Blu. The hotel looked much better when we went for drinks. Got an outside seat without any problems. This Grand Jersey hotel is ok, but could be so much better. It's definitely not good value for money at well over £200 a night.
Me and my boyfriend had afternoon tea. Lots of cakes and scones and sandwiches. A choice of loose leaf tea. The champagne lounge was very tidy and we had a sea view. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. I'd recommend to anyone for a lovely treat to yourself or any other ☺️
Just back from an excellent stay at the Grand Jersey Hotel. Very nice room with nice view of the park and the furnishings and decor to a high standard. Staff very attentive and friendly even though it was busy. With a variety of places to eat, we were never short of options. Terrace bar with views over St. Aubins bay very nice. We used the spa facilities and were excellent as expected. Additionally, with the central location of the hotel, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend staying there.
I am staying at the Grand Hotel in Jersey this week, and if there was another hotel available, then I would walk out of this Hotel, this is not a 5 star hotel, I am in a Single room, with a front view (well actually its a side view, but you still get charged, as if you have a front view) and I can honestly say, that this is the smallest room, that I have been charged £190 a night for! When I arrived and walked into my room, it was so cold, it was like an ice box, and I had to request for the heating to be turned on. I have stayed in a lot of Hotels, and Value for Money, I would not recommend this Hotel. I was told that I could only be down graded, if I wasn't happy with the room! Dated and over priced, well for my room anyway, maybe some of the others are better!
