my wife and I stayed here for 4 nights for an anniversary break, the hotel is very nice with a champagne lounge at the front of the hotel overlooking the sea and Elizabeth castle in the background, it also has 2 restaurants, one fine dining and one more casual we had afternoon tea in the champagne lounge which was very nice, however there is a main road between the hotel and beach/sea. the staff were very polite and professional and check in and check out were quick and efficient. generally we had a good stay apart from 2 issues - firstly on our first day we booked a trip for the next day (our anniversary) through the hotel and checked everything was o.k at reception as we left but when went for our trip we waited and eventually found out it was not running so we went back to the hotel and were able to book another tour. secondly one day we ordered room service breakfast - it arrived 25 minutes late and was the wrong order so we phoned reception to notify them and went down to the dining room for breakfast - this delayed our start to the day which meant our plans were disrupted and we did not get to do what we wanted for the day. we did also order room service on other occasions and this was O.K we did not get to use all of the hotel facilities but they did look good and what we did sample of the food and drink was very nice
Have just returned from a short Easter break staying at the Grand. Prior to our visit we were called to confirm our booking, room requests and any special dietary requirements which was a lovely surprise. Having arrived at the hotel on the Friday we were quickly checked in by the efficient reception Staff and then taken to our room and shown everything required for our stay. We had booked a deluxe park view and ended up with a sea view as well which was a bonus. The room was a great size, nice and light and airy and everything you need for your stay. Tea, coffee, biscuits were all replenished twice a day. The bed and pillows were super comfy and housekeeping do a fantastic job in keeping everything spotless. There is also the benefit of free movies from the TV which we have never experienced before, normally you have to pay. We ate dinner in the excellent Victoria's restaurant which I would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable and the food offers excellent choice and quality- I would highly recommend the honey and lavender icecream. Breakfast also offers plenty of choice with the added benefit of being able to order other items e.g kippers, pancakes, smoked salmon, eggs, haddock etc all cooked to order. We also used the champagne lounge for evening cocktails which was lovely and relaxing. The indoor pool and spa is a great facility, although I never got chance to experience any treatments. When travelling to the hotel, public transport offers a very regular service and is super cheap. Get the number 15 from the airport to the bus terminal, which is basically the last stop in the service and only costs £2.00. It is then a literally a 5 minute walk from the terminal to the hotel so really easy. Overall a fantastic short break in Jersey staying in the Grand. I would highly recommend.
We spent three nights at this hotel. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Hotel is just on the edge of town with everything in short walking distance. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of choice and all the food was very fresh.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with friendly helpful staff.concierge was fantastic and always ready to advise. He gave us a fab tour of the rooms and is a massive asset to the hotel(Hugo) Our rooms overlooking the sea were comfortable and the view was breathtaking across to the castle. Breakfast was varied and well cooked and the staff were very friendly. Hany managed to chat away to our teenager Daniel who was impressed he was spoken to as many staff in other hotels only acknowledge the parents. We had dinner and Easter Sunday lunch in Victoria's which was to a very high standard. Room service was quick and reasonably priced. Precious was great in the spa both for facials and hot stone massage. Communication between guests and spa staff could be improved and spa staff need to ensure they check ages of guests who ask for treatments as under 16s are not allowed treatments. Pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi were well maintained. Beds were very comfortable and the free film library in the room is a great idea. Overall a great break in a lovely hotel with friendly staff. Many of t he negative comments from other guests are quite picky. Definitely visit this hotel.
We stayed at the Grand Jersey for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel was easily reached by bus from the airport with the stop only 2 minutes away. We had a classic room which was a good size albeit a strange shape and did not have a sea view. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet plus unlike many hotels was not too hot!! The breakfast selection was good and we really enjoyed the fresh fruit. We also had a couple of items to order including the eggs benedict and an omelette which were good although did take a little time to arrive at busy times. The service was generally good although we had one morning when our drinks and toast order appeared to have been overlooked. The pool, spa pool and steam rooms were good although were accessed by a number of steps which may be a problem for some guests. If we were to return to St Helier again we would consider this as an option.
My partner and I went out to jersey for a little R&R but also to research wedding venues and accommodation. We chose The grand because it was well rated on trip adviser and it was centrally located in St Helier. Don't bother getting a hire car as there is such a huge variety of transportation options from bus to bike that a car would be a waste of time and money. The number 15 bus from the airport took us along the costal route to the hotel in 30 minutes and dropped us right outside the hotel. We hired bikes from zebra bikes in the town and spent our holiday biking, walking or bussing form one location to the next. Ok, onto the hotel...... PHENOMENAL customer service. Vary rarely have we experienced such good customer service and with my partner working in the travel industry, she has even higher expectations than I! HUGO is the concierge and have been resident at the hotel for over 20 years. What this man doesn't know about the hotel, the best places to visit and where to eat is not worth knowing. Super friendly, helpful and exceptionally charming. The hotel itself is part of the handpicked brand which are unique and of a high standard. We paid £105 a night for a standard room and we were not disappointed. There are 6 sea fronted suites available if you should fancy some additional luxury but in all truth the normal rooms are lovely (with a massive bathroom which includes a walk in shower and separate bath). The hotel has a large spa, indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna and the gym is well equipped with lots of cardio (and a decent weights area) if you should choose to venture down there. The food is of a v good standard. I'm a real fuss pot so if I'm happy, it must be good. The breakfast has both hot and hold options including a full English, cereal, fruit and even crepes. Dinner was also v nice with a decent variety of options to suite all tastes. There is also a lovely sea fronted champagne bar which is open all day and serves drinks and lite snacks. I'm struggling to say anything other than positives things about this hotel so I'll end my review there. Don't both booking other hotels, this one will give you all that you need and more. Have a look at my other review at Dorans restaurant in St Helier if you fancy a lovely meal out.... it's a must if your visiting St Helier
Fantastic hotel & Spa everything was amazing, the service is some of the best I have come across. Nothing too much trouble, rooms are lovely and the beds are so comfortable and king size. A super place easy to get everywhere from and parking for the car, brilliant.
Really enjoyed our stay at Grand Jersey Hotel. Conveniently located, the airport bus stopped right outside but then again the main Liberty bus station is only a 5 minute easy walk away. Arrived early but we were checked in straight away and had a room with a wonderful view of Elizabeth Castle and the tides. Really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner in the evening at the hotel. Very friendly staff. There is nothing negative to be said. Thankyou to all the staff for an enjoyable stay. Would definitely look to stay here if visiting Jersey again soon.
Booked a double room with Ocean view and the room did not disappoint. The view was wonderful out to Elizabeth Castle (which looked lovely when lit up at night). The staff in the hotel were excellent and extremely helpful. Breakfast had a great choice with a specials menu if you wanted something different. Good location on the Esplanade so you only had a couple of minutes walk into the centre of St. Helier and you avoided all the late night noise.
Check in was smooth and stress free. Nicole spent 5 minutes checking me in and then I was on my way to my room, being ushered by a lovely Mauritian gentleman (apologies for not getting your name). The room was spotless and it's amenities more than sufficient. There is a bathrobe, slippers, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and plenty of hangars provided. One thing I found intregued (and also a brilliant touch) was that water in the mini fridge + over 20 films.on demand to watch - all for free. I also had the easier of using the swimming pool / steam room / sauna and they were as you'd expect from a reputable establishment. Lockers, towels and toiletries are provided so you don't need to take anything else but yourself (and your swimming clothes) The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows had the right firmness for me. I didn't see a 'pillow menu' so If you're big on that, I'd call and ask. Breakfast the next day was superb, with a wide selection of pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juices, smoothies + hot food (standard English breakfast stuff). However, they also encourage you to order from a breakfast menu and that is included in your package. I would definitely stay here and can't fault this hotel for anything. Ill try my best to be back again.
