Radisson Hotel Louisville North3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel has recently been updated, the room was a bit small with no mini fridge or microwave. The rest of the hotel was good, very nice and helpful staff. Buffet was ok and the bar good. The indoor pool seemed to be a favorite.
If you get a good rate for this hotel I would recommend it to an alternative to staying downtown Louisville...IF you have a car. You definitely do not want to be walking around outside at night. Rooms are average. Lobby and pool areas were nice. Workout room gets a "poor" ranking. Cardio equipment did not work. Treadmills stopping and starting on their own..fairly dangerous really. SInce they only have cardio equipment I would say if you need to use a fitness room do not stay here.
Hotel was in a decent location, clean, and the staff was friendly. There is No hot tub, but the pool is fairly warm. Uber was cheap to use from this location to get to downtown Louisville. Only takes about 5 minutes or so to get downtown. All in all good value.
This hotel is a hidden gem. Be sure to meet the famous hotel resident Al, ask about his story. Thank you to all the staff that went well beyond their call of duty to insure the wedding went perfect. KT
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon after visiting Kentucky kingdom we arrived and got to our room the rooms and hallways smelled gross! Our daughters wanted to go swimming so we went to the indoor pool. My youngest daughter begged me to get in I'm 7 months pregnant and when I was getting into the pool the bottom of it was so slick I fell into the pool hurting my ankle and leg really bad! It was bleeding pretty bad and my husband asked the guy at the pool if they had a first aid kit and he told my husband he had no idea! So we went up the stairs to the front desk and they gave him small band-aids for all the abrasions on my leg and foot!! So my husband had to go to cvs to get stuff to take care of my leg and foot! Then when we were leaving we waited for the elevator for over 5 mins! After getting on it we got stuck in it! I will never stay at the hotel again! I have them a one star cause I couldn't give them no stars!
I was traveling with 5 kids, and this was a great stay. The indoor pool was being repaired, but it was 90°F+ so the outdoor pool was perfect (in fact we could see it from our window & it was the only one I was considering, didn't know about the indoor pool until we walked past its windows along the outdoor path). We had an issue with paint fumes after we returned from picking up dinner, and the elevator was out of service as well. The fumes were overwhelming and noxious in the hallway -- thick humid overpowering. The front desk first response was that she'd "send someone to spray." I told her dear God, don't do that! There's something really strong, like magic marker, it needs to be ventilated, not covered (from this correction, I think she no longer liked me or wished to help). I called back when the odor remained and asked for a new room, she said they were booked, then that she'd speak with her general mgr, another call to tell me to come to the front desk to get a new room. Again, 5 kids with me, two trips to get our luggage to our 3rd floor room ... now repeating the process? I asked if they had luggage racks, she told me no. Now .... it so happens that my 2yr old locked the bathroom door on the inside and shut the door - we couldn't open it from the outside, not even with a coin in the slot as recommended. The maintenance guy came to open it, and he explained they were painting on the 10th floor and the vent was funneling the fumes into our hallway. He said it would disperse, they had stopped (many complaints) but I told him I felt headachy, my 8yr old was feeling sick to his stomach... he asked to give him 5 minutes... he returned with our new room key, AND a luggage rack!! He loaded up our luggage and took us on all internal hallways to get to our new room. We left behind our trash from dinner pick-up, our wet towels from the pool, and had a new room in a new wing with fresh air and everything clean. Made for an excellent sleep, the maintenance guy really saved the day (I gave him a tip of course). Had my 6:30a. alarm set, but it was a Saturday only alarm on my phone -- had a few settings - so we woke on our own around 8:30a and had to pack & go. The 10yr old & her friend really wanted to try the hotel breakfast, but that opportunity was lost. There is also a giant water park next door that I think you can use... we didn't have the time to do this, but looks quite fun for kids.
Elevators BROKEN. Both of them. What if we were disabled? Our room was on the 6th floor. Super inconvenient. Hallways smelled horrible like nail polish remover. Common areas not very clean. Skanky area. Go somewhere else!!
we were just here for my daughters nationals pageant. The room smelled like mold, the elevators were so slow that you could literally sit down and wait, not to mention the only 1 working elevator. Staff would shove their way in front of you to get on the elevator and if there was room for you, you were shoved next to dirty linens or trash. Lets not forget about how the pool lining was coming up from the bottom of the pool and how housekeeping just left bags of trash and laundry in the halls all day on Saturday! DISGUSTING!!! We had no fridge or microwave and they charged my debit card 3 times!!!!! For MULTIPLE people! Causing overdraft fees and a huge headache. I will NEVER be back, and if her nationals is held here again I will not be attending!!!
Just a quick trip to pick up a new puppy and needed a convenient place to stay near the freeway. This hotel is huge. Different wings spreading out in each direction . I would not say parking is easy- you have to walk a ways to get to the elevator which are very slow and only when one was working while I was there. The rooms were clean and the a/c worked great. There is a restaurant with evening and breakfast buffets. Would stay here again .
Very pleased with the large suite on the 2nd floor with patio facing outdoor pool area and duck pond. Very clean room that was larger than normal suite. Also had a sleeper sofa, fridg., and separate dressing area. Nice indoor pool with lots of sitting space on the same level as the pool, and upstairs. Large parking area; and minutes away just across the river to Louisville. Attended an event at the KEC and it was only 8 min. away; as well as short drive to historic Jeffersonville dining. Would definitely stay here again; but the Manager did relay the hotel brand would change in Sept. to a Radisson.
