The rate that Booking.com gave us was different from the rate they tried to charge us at the hotel. The girl working in the office was nice but manager wouldn't give us the AARP discount because they said we already received a low rate. The bathroom water wouldn't quit running and they didn't clean the room just gave us extra towels.
The stay was OK. However, the room had a really bad mildew smell. It did not have a clean smell to it. For the price, the hotel should have had more amenities. The breakfast was continental and little else. The staff was friendly.
This property needs one thing... to be tore down and replaced. It was one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. Old Carpet, Old AC unit, bad shower rod & curtain, thin towels, missing drywall...the list goes on. While the front desk clerk was extremely nice, she works in a rat hole...
I checked into a room that had black mold along the perimeter of the room all the way around and someone had tried to clean with bleach making it unbearable to breathe I was offered another room with no discount
Stayed at this hotel for 1 week. For the price, it would be ok. BUT, the 1 non American that works breakfast is rude, breakfast was almost empty the entire week and never replenished, and "it's not my job" is the answer he gives you and goes right back to his cellular phone. Then the young lady with dreads is ok but she's on the cellular phone while checking me in, and anytime going in the ocfice, is this really how you allow your employees to work?? There should be no phones while working, completely ruined my opinion of this place. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL MORE OF A BOTHER THAN A GUEST. HIRE NEW EMPLOYEES OR ENFORCE NO PHONES ON COMPANY TIME.
My Husband and I went to Jacksonville for a vacation, I made the reservation, obviously I entered my information in order to get available room for this Hotel Super 8. When we arrived the Front Desk Guy Damien didn't help us because the hotel didn't have a system. We went from MIA, 5 hours by car, and I explained that , he couldn't do anything for us, we started to look for another hotel to stay. Next day that hotel charged the cost, I received the alert from my bank, immediately I called to the hotel, the lady front desk has a weird name Corshest, something like that , she didn't do anything for me, three days later the charged continue in my statement, I called to the bank and started the dispute. Please becarfull with this place, it's incredible how they stole to the guest. Thank God the bank return my money.
The room and the bed were okay. We had problems with the bathroom door and toilet seat cover. The door would not close because the hinges were loose from the frame. The toilet seat cover was broken off. We did discover some roaches in the bathroom. The inexpensive price matched the quality of the room. No more Super 8 hotels in my future.
If you like roaches, mildew & graffiti- book here. The only redeeming quality of this place is the nice staff. The rooms are old, smelly & mildewed. The neighborhood is rough (bars on windows, graffiti). It was the nastiest motel I have ever stayed in.
very good stay for second time ...appreciate value, goodsleep and service at this location from S in the am & C during the night shift .thank you
This site is a prime example of the "Old Super 8 Chain". I frequently stay at Super 8s all over the country and am almost always very pleased with the quality and price. However, the older, not-yet-updated sites leave a lot to desire. This not-so-downtown "Downtown" location does not live up to the standards I have come to appreciate at Super 8.
