Was not sure what I'd find after a tiring day of driving and was surprised when I entered the lobby of the hotel. Because of a lack of water in Nachez many travelers were looking for alternative accommodation near by so rooms were quickly being filled in Canton. Was offered a suite and then given a reduced rate. The room was tastefully furnished with a comfortable chair and ottoman to use as I enjoyed a cup of Keurig coffee. The front desk even called to make sure I had everything I needed. In the lobby there was a sign asking for forgiveness for any inconvenience caused by the updating work. The breakfast was excellent with many options available.
We stopped in for a night and it was a nice hotel> It was not reasonable in the price tag for the service, though it seems to be a safe option north of Jackson, where many are not safe. We drove downtown and it was Relay For Life on the square. They had it roped off and Canton was a nice little town. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, though they are renovating it. The staff could continue to cleanse the faucets and water spots, corners and such as much of this won't be renovated and replaced. It looked like they were not focused in that area.
Stayed there for one night. Family booked 2 rooms and we both had to ask for another room because water in bathrooms came out a dirty brown. The only problems I had was the water. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good.
Stayed for one night on our way to New Orleans. Good location right off I-55. Clean hotel, nice staff, good breakfast. Plenty of places close by if you need food, gas, or groceries. Beds comfortable, clean rooms. No hesitation to stay here again if needed.
Hotel was very clean and modern update. Lobby, lounge area, exercise room, outdoor pool. Rooms clean and modern furniture and clean bedding. The only issue was the air conditioner/heater was a little loud for sleep. Free breakfast, well stocked and fresh. front desk staff very nice and friendly. Overall great location right off interstate and on main road to downtown less than 5 minute drive to square and local attractions.
Experience at this hotel was much better than last year, but not too much. Was reluctant to book a room at this hotel again, but the same manager on duty (Latoya) that I'd ragged on last year seems much better attitude-wise. She was still condescending and saying when booking through a third party (Hotels.com) I should have still specified that I wanted a microwave and refrigerator in the room. And yet, hours later to another customer -- a traveling businessman, Latoya said ALL rooms had microwaves and refrigerators. Bias anyone? Otherwise, breakfast was superb. Room clean. Housekeeping courteous and helpful.
My husband and I have quite frequently stayed at HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS motels, but I must say that this was one of the NICEST Holiday Inn Expresses we have ever stayed at! The room was very large with a sofa and chair, also a small table and chairs. Since we are somewhat handicapped, we very much appreciated the "high boy" toilet as well as the large bathroom. We were really sorry we didn't need to spend more time here, as the facilities (breakfast was also extremely nice...esp. the cheerful lady in charge of whole affair) were AWESOME!
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in since I have been in Mississippi. Clean, great service, friendly personnel. There was a mistake concerning my reservation and it was handled great. I would recommend this hotel highly.
I get to stay in hotels a majority of my weeks and months as I travel alot for work. I make my reservations on CLC Corporate Lodging and do not have issues. Although its a bit outdated, its a hotel, not your house. With thousands of people passing through a hotel each year, its never looking top notch. I stayed at a Marriott recently and was very unhappy. Holiday Inn Express are generally nicer hotels since I would NEVER stay at an Extended Stay America or Super 8. The food is basic but hot and does the trick. You get back in your car and your full. Coffee is available all day with some pretty decent creamers to go with it. My fridge took a dooky shortly after I arrived and the "live on site" maintenance guy brought me a replacement, which was nice. The beds are left to be desired, but what do you expect from the amount of guests that use them. Housekeeping on the other hand....needed to be throat punched. The "african american" girl had an attitude the minute she walked in and I made her leave. She took used towels, but never returned clean ones! I would stay here again, but I have zero intention to ever come back to Canton, Ms again!
In town on business. It's clear that this building was not built as a Holiday Inn Express. It show severe wear and tear, especially outside with rust and cracking tiles and grout especially around the pool, the gates and doors. My room had a mild odor but I travel with a fragrence spray. The breakfast room is large, food was microwaved but good, liked the biscuits and gravy. The lady in the breakfast room was really pleasant. There was a ladder on the 2nd floor all day. They seemed to be doing a lot of maintencance. Overall the room was ok, no refrigerator, for one night it was ok.
