The staff were nice. The air conditioner was super good and better than most places we have stayed. Its right accross street from most resturants so you can just walk.
Great location on beach, nice pool, and close to restaurants and shops.
it was very good we have stay @ 5 hotels in Ixpata and found this one to the best nice hotel on the beach
Not a new hotel but staff work hard to keep it clean. Air conditioner barely keeps up during the day, but great a night. Staff are fantastic .....
Beach is the hotel's backyard. The beach spans about more than one mile end to end. It is a very clean walkable beach, sometime has nice surf for doing body surf. A few local do beach fishing for fun.
This place could be pretty good if you get an ocean view room. The Mountain View rooms face toward a place called Senior Frogs and it is very loud. The party at Senior Frogs seems to start about midnight and doesn't end until 4:00 am. You CAN NOT sleep with the window open and you need ear plugs with the windows closed. It is really that loud! Avoid a mountain view room if you intend to sleep at night. On the positive side, the staff was great and friendly. The place was clean and well kept. The location was great for going into Ixtapa to eat. My only gripe was having Senior Frogs making so much noise.
The hotel fills in empty rooms with 3 and 4 day packages to locals at a discounted rate with a lot of young children. These guest did not use the intended babypool on premises due to the main pool bar and guest being all inclusive. Babies in diapers constantly in main pool . Kids taking all seats at swim up pool bar.
Been coming here for five years Greatest location
The hotel did not meet the expectations at all. When I arrived with my confirmation number they did not have my room ready they had given it to someone else. Even with my reservation paid and my reservation number in hand they took past an hour to get me settled in a room that was not what I paid for it was not worthy of staying there. The counter receptionist did not even apologize for their wrong doing and plus they never did anything to get me to the actual room I had paid for.
Have stayed here many times... overall a great value. Hotel staff is excellent. Have had trouble in the past with the A/C possibly not working well.
I enjoyed our stay very much, the rooms were very small but clean. I didn't like the food in the "fancy" restaurant. The buffet was much better. We had the all inclusive which i thought was great because we could eat and drink all day. Only complaint on that was that the all inclusive does NOT include domestic beer such as VICTORIA OR MODELO OR CORONA. I liked the location because it was in walking distance of the bars out on the street. The pools were also okay. Most of the staff was very nice and attentive.
The hotel location is great. It is a close to many bars and restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and intend to return next year (unless it becomes totally all inclusive.) The only drawback was guests saving chairs early in the morning and only using them for a few hours in the afternoon.
Hotel was decent for the price. Awesome location. Pool is just average with no real deep area. Pool chairs need replacing but if you get up early and get a bed, which there are about 8 of, they are comfortable! We had one issue and that was with laundry. The hotel would never give us an exact price for how much it would cost to do a load of laundry. No rate sheet or anything even though we asked multiple people, multiple times. One person told my husband it was about 40 pesos ($3.00) a load. I sent some clothes to be washed, equivalent to a small to medium size load had I done it at home. When it was done the bill was $60.00 for that one small load. We were very unhappy and spoke with management. Eventually they lowered it to $35.00 which I was still very unhappy with for the size of the load. So, be careful if you want any clothes washed.
The hotel was clean and all the staff was very friendly. Our group of 15 caught several deep sea fish and the president of the hotel made arrangements to have our fish cooked in several different ways two nights during our stay cost (6.50) per person. The pools were very clean and the waiter staff was very accommodating. Wifi was spotty at best, but that was nice because the girls couldn't be on their phones all week. The food was good, but it seemed like a lot of the same foods. The fruit was amazing and fresh.
Great location on a beautiful beach. Pool was kind of small. Unlike the description, there is no internet in the room. You have to go to the lobby. The room was small. Water pressure was not very good. Price and location were excellent.
I stayed in the Emporio for 5 nights in May. The location was good for Ixtapa (just across the street from the main restaurant area), the beach is beautiful, and it was a good value. On the other hand, it really seemed geared towards an all inclusive crowd, and the service didn't seem as good for guests on a "European plan." But overall, I would recommend it, particularly in a shoulder season (like May, when most of the crowds have gone but it is still good beach weather).
The location of this hotel makes it a jewel and treasure. The pool and beach location are beautiful. Its in walking distance to many things and public transport is available outside the hotel too. The staff has beautiful, compassionate and servant hearts. The food was good and service they were right on top of things. The staff was really attentive and willing to help with everything. For the value and price, it is more than worth it. We had a mountain view and it is less but still an amazing view and we had an ocean view too, from the side. The best of both worlds. The really only thing that bothered me was when the AC was on it smelled like mold so I think they just need to clean the vents, others didn't think so but I did. But really a minor detail compared to the great staff, and service we received.
Family vacation, nice value, good service, a bit old
Had a wonderful time in Ixtapa. The Emporio is a very clean and friendly place. They have bikes to be used for free on the biking trails just across the street. The staff is very helpful at all times of the day. The food was great, we ate at sunset right by the ocean. Would recommend this place to young & old alike.
Getting a little old. Very small beds and never would accommodate us to a King. Great view, pool and jacuzzi not always clean and hot. Not internet in the rooms.
