I have stayed at this resort 3 times. The location is perfect on a great clean beach. They have fabulous food and the service is top notch. Nice easy walk to town too! Love this place-wouldn't stay anywhere else!!! The staff at this resort is amazing!!!!!!!
Paid for upgrade but A/C wasn’t working in any of the rooms and some heavy leaking from the coming from the ceiling. Next day 2 A/C working but final A/C in bedroom not - three hours of maintenance team in the room with no success. Finally, massive construction work at the entrance area. Service is great, location is awesome and the restaurant does a decent job.
Beautiful resort with authentic Mexico artisan flare! Whatever you need, everyone here will do what they can to help. The room is beautiful, beds were comfortable, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. We had a couple private gatherings and can't say enough positive things about the service and beauty of the table settings and surroundings. Thank you for everything!
We were looking for a long weekend on the beach. i was drawn by reasonable pricing and high trip advisor rating. The “residence” was awesome - king bed looking into living room that looks into deck w great ocean view. private jacuzzi pool and kitchenette were nice amenities for rooms with ocean view. Many interesting architectural features. my wife loved our suite with 2 bathrooms. l loved the private outdoor shower and pool. Food was superb and reasonably priced. Staff and service were outstanding. Beach in front was clean smooth sand and warm calm water. The place is in La Ropa beach which is lovely. Swimming pools are more for chillin or kids and not for swimming. Gym has great view. Overall, we had a great experience We look forward to coming back.
We stayed at this unforgettable resort the second week of June 2019. Words cannot express how much we loved this resort - we stayed in lookout studio 520 - and it was everything we wanted and more. An amazing view. An amazing deck. Everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The first night we arrived we took a taxi to the "Mega" and stocked up on food for our stay. The unit came with a fridge, freezer (the resort does have numerous ice machines) microwave, cooking utensils, plates, glasses etc. We did have meals at the resort's restaurants and were happy with the service, selection, and price. It was quiet season, so we had no problem finding lawn chairs no matter what time we went down to the beach. The beach itself is fantastic - comparable to Hawaii. Clean, no rocks and great snorkeling right in front of the resort. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to come back. It was always a toss up whether to spend time at the beach, the pool or on our deck with our own private soaker tub. Transportation from the airport - we went directly to the booth to book a taxi - chose the "share a taxi option" and after 10 minutes, no one else chose this option, so we had our own private cab to the resort for 320 pesos. Cannot wait to come back to this resort!!!!
The minute you arrive you are warmly greeted by the staff, given an ice cold bottle of water and a cool damp cloth to refresh yourself. You will be quickly checked in and guided to your room with your luggage. In the two weeks we were here we did not encounter a single problem, in fact that goes for the past 18 years we have stayed here. There are a lot of stairs, but, they offer cart rides to your building. The restaurant is first class, excellent food properly and perfectly cooked. The pools are crystal clear and the beach area is just what you expect at a high end property. The entire staff is so friendly, they are more like friends than employees.Staying here is a real treat.
Muchas Gracias para todos, Embarc!!! Our stay here was truly amazing. It was our first trip to Mexico & we are hooked now. The entire staff of Embarc was a joy to be with all week. We had a wonderful time relaxing with tacos, ceviche & coconut margaritas by the pool. Everyone was lovely, but especially Eloy, David, Porccoro y Isidro took great care of us. Despite the weird US travel ban on Guerrero, we found Zihuatanejo to be very safe. The Canadians have been keeping this resort a secret as they’ve been coming for many years... and it’s kind of nice you won’t find too many Americans here, even if you are one. We met guests from Switzerland, Montreal, Ottowa, Toronto & Michigan. You can simply stay at the resort, enjoy the chairs & hammock right on the beach, order delicious “tiritas” or tacos pastor or guacamole & chips... or wander along the beach at the base of the resort for swimming, massages, pottery painting & great food. We rented a kayak right from the resort- a perfect day. You can walk into town in 15 minutes, or take an easy cab ride. It’s a steep walk back up from town, but a great work out. Elderly guests may have trouble with the stairs here- but it’s nice they have golf carts if you need a little help. Our room was just a few flights up from the pool & we had a stunning view. We fell asleep every night to the sounds of waves crashing & birds chirping. Best sleep in my life! The terrace doors are louvered. You will have some mosquitoes depending on time of year, even though they spray here. Be a good guest & don’t leave your AC or fan running when you leave the room... electricity here is very expensive. We highly recommend you spend some time getting to know the locals... we especially LOVED the bar Overtime/Splash & lunch at Mariscos El Tiburón de la Costa. At the resort, breakfast in the dining room was absolutely perfect. Lunch by the beach... We had a great dinner BBQ onsite as well. We came in mid-May, which is about the start of their hotter/slower season. Weather was perfect for us the entire week. June-Aug may be rainy & hot. Rub some limes on your ankles & neck every day if you don’t have insect repellant. Drink mezcal. This time of year the mosquitoes are definitely out at night. The guests in higher up rooms closer to the hillside had more bites. Call the resort 48 hours before you arrive if you need a shuttle from the airport. (We tried emailing a few times about this and never got a response, may have had the wrong email address?) The hired shuttle is 590 pesos and they will bill it to your room- have some pesos to tip the driver. A taxi from the airport is just 320 pesos plus tip though, and you should be able to get one easily. The Zihua airport is small and very friendly. We felt very safe. BTW, The resort staff gets their credit card tips about a week afterwards, so tipping in pesos is probably appreciated. Next time we will do that more. They worked hard for us, and we tipped well (25-30%). We tipped housekeeping as well- they did a great job. We hope to make this an annual trip! <3 <3 <3
We just had our third visit at Embarc Zihua and it was again, an absolute wonderful experience. We have stayed in Unit 403 each time over the course of 6 years, and each time, the unit has been in excellent, brand new condition with full amenities. The resort location is perfect and this particular unit location is spectacular, with it's bay and pool views. This is a two bedroom villa unit that easily accommodated the four of us... Plenty of shared space and the individual bedrooms very roomy and comfortable. The kitchen, dining and patio areas were perfect for group socializing, drinking and eating. Overall, the Embarc staff is always exceptional, whether it be the unit cleaning, responsiveness of needs, restaurant/bar service and front desk support. Whatever you need, they will help. They definitely want to make sure your stay is a wonderful experience. If you are considering Zihua or Embarc... you cannot go wrong here~
I booked trip on Expedia which I will never do again. There were resort fees required when I checked in that were different from what I paid with the reservation. The resort at first hassled me about the $20 difference but the operation manager didn't ask for the difference when I let him know I would probably spend $1,000 there. The resort was excellent and our room suite was incredible. The meals, location and service was excellent. We disappointed that the spa was not properly staffed as they had no back up for their spa personnel taking vacation. Hopefully they will improve on this. Only 1 bad service experience on our last breakfast which took place when half of wait staff went to work the pool. I would return again here when I decide to come back. Angel and David were excellent in their service likewise the operations manager Francisco.
We found Embarc on Expedia and we paid the premium rate but our room is literally in the center of the hotel with an optimum view. Our on spa, two showers, kitchen, hammocks, loungers, Beautifully appointed room and lots of great service. We couldn’t be closer to the beach. The food has been very good, but no all inclusive which is fine.
