SOMEWHAT ESPECIAL OLD BUT WELL MAINTENECE,OVER ALL GOOD EXPERIENCE..

This property is more of boutique-style hotel with lots of character, charm, and ambiance. The staff were all very friendly, cordial, and willing to help in whatever I should need. The premises are well maintained with a winding series of stairs to various parts of the property, all the way down to the Bistro Restaurant below (sits right on the beach). The only caution I would have, as I believe others have mentioned in their reviews, is that if doing a lot of stairs is a challenge you might have a difficult time with your stay at this property (no elevators). Although I have only been to Zihuatanejo this one time, I don't think I have any doubts on where I will stay when I return, the Aura Del Mar!

great location, beautiful views, comfortable and clean rooms, good food, great staff

Great hotel with view staff is amazing secure hotel it was a great experience overall

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms clean and spacious. Could do with some updating but very comfortable. Great views, lots of relaxing areas. Would recommend to anyone! Bistro on the beach is lovely

Our stay was very enjoyable. The staff was great-extremely helpful when needed, but not Intrusive and left us alone to relax during our stay. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was perfect. Great atmosphere and every experience there was delicious. The hotel was in a good location. Great wifi connection. The staff will give you great suggestions on anything you ask and will have a taxi at your service within minutes. The only cons- the water pressure in the shower was pretty much a drizzle.. It didn't really bother us but it may bother other guests. Also, the water temp stayed cool the entire time... As I previously noted- this really wasn't an issue for us.. Its fine.. The glass door accessing the balcony is extremely difficult to open and close.. Overall, I enjoyed everything and would definitely stay again.

From the moment we ware greeted to the minute we left we felt at home... my children, wife and I had the most wonderful time aver... all thanks to the perfect combination of wonderful and friendly staff to the perfect location and beautiful beach. Bistro Del Mar was delicious, the beach side view open air dining is priceless and the service is topnotch. We will definitely come back and will tell our friends.

My sister and I travel to Mexico every year and had not been to Zihuatanejo before. So happy we picked Aura de Mar as it was perfect for us. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We did go to the city, Ixtapa to swim with the dolphins which was an amazing experience but glad to come back to Zihuatanejo and Aura del Mar where we felt at home. The food in the restaurant was delicious and we tried breakfast and dinner! Great restaurants everywhere and a little grocery store across the street for when we just needed a snack. Loved Aura de Mar and will most definitely come back because of the kindness of the staff, the great rooms and the pool is perfect! Swimming in the warm ocean was pretty darn nice too!

This is a funky little hotel perched on the hill above Madera beach. Only 30 rooms spread over 8 floors, so lots and lots of stairs. This was our second stay and we returned because of the great proximity to restaurants too numerous to count, the great staff, great views of the bay from the room, and the relaxing atmosphere.

We went to Zihua for an escape. The hotel was so relaxing. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable with amazing views. The layout of the hotel makes it feel intimate and private. The pool and deck areas are set up well. Kept immaculately clean. And Carola, the resident parrot is a hoot! Location is great too-- very close to amazing food (shout out to La Pearla Negra and El Arrayan), Mercado Centrale, Paseo Pescadora and downtown. My only complaint was the massage I got at the in house spa. It was only about 40 minutes, even though I paid for 60-- and it felt rushed, like they had to get though each "piece" more than the amount of time. Place next door was amazing for massages thereafter though.

Everything setup for us was just great. Service was excellent, and immediate. I recommend Aura Del Mar to all my friends. I do wish they would acquire an escalator. Our room was located is a very pristine location. The hotel located the perfect fishing vessel.

We'd previously stayed on La Ropa Beach, which is lovely, but decided to try Aura del Mar. The location made it so much more fun as we could easily walk into town, which we did once or twice a day. The beach is fine. Steps away from the lounges we were on was a restaurant with the most fabulous fish tacos. The reception area is a nice way of starting and then a parrot greets you on the way to your room. The staff is terrific. Best of all, we were upgraded from a junior suite to a fabulous, large room with an entire kitchen out on the porch. We were totally delighted. Bed was comfortable. Shower was great.

We'd always stayed on the other beach, which is longer and perhaps more pleasant, but this hotel is so well located, making it a great change as we went into town easily and happily. The staff is delightful and we had a wonderful room with an enormous patio, complete with jacuzzi and kitchen, which was terrific as we were there for 8 days (never enough time in Zijua). We ate in town so I can't speak to the restaurant, but they attended to our needs and were most accommodating. The bed was king-sized and super comfortable. The wi-fi was erratic but we managed. The bathroom was fabulous and the view is incredible. We got a lot of bang for the peso.

Although its name has changed (formerly Brisas del Mar), this small hotel on Playa Madera remains a wonderful spot for relaxation and exploring Zihuatanejo. The concierge Carlos helped us arrange a fishing trip with a very good captain.

This hotel is good located, you can walk to downtown in 5 minutes. The staff is nice, the hotel is perfectly clean, the view is amazing. I compared with other hotels in Ixtapa and after my visit I know i choose the best option..

Charming, clean, walking distance to everything! Only downside was after the first day, there was no poolside service. Had to walk down to restaurant/bar for service. Everything else was great!

Great views and pool. Efficient staff. Bar and food service slow at poolside. Bathrooms need updating. Lovely setting. Nice happy hour at sunset.

A group of six friends stayed at this great place. Great location and views. The staff was terrific.
