It was a nice stay with my family for 5 nights..z hotel is well situated!easy access to the town,5 min walk to reach the tram. Clean room, good breakfast, nice &shelling team. Fair price👍🏻and I will recommend it
The place is very nice and cozy, with a very delightful breakfast, but is a bit far from taksim square. You need a taxi or a train to reach taksim, you can't reach it by walking, you will need a lot of time. The spa and massage in this hotel are very good.
Perfectly situated in walking distance of Hagia Sophia & Grang Bazaar. Extremely friendly staff & management. Excellent breakfast & Spa. Hotel can arrange tours. Spa was an absolute treat after a long flight.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Helpful staff, good rooms, generous buffet breakfast and close to the tram station (350m, but some of it is uphill). The bathrooms are very well equipped - loved the shower! Unfortunately the corridors do smell of smoke; smoking seems big in Turkey.
Hotel a bit small but typical of these relatively central hotels in the side streets on the golden horn. Relatively easy walking distance of the key sights if you are reasonably fit and easy access to buses and trams if you are not. As usual watch out for the taxi drivers who seem allergic to the most direct route and don't trust the hotel reception staff to order or negotiate a taxi on your behalf unless you are happy to pay 3 times the meter rate which is why they refuse to switch them on or take you on the short route via Syria. Food at breakfast and lunch was passable and not horrendously expensive but don't change any currency at the hotel as they seem to lock their exchange rate in their own favour at whatever was the best rate for themselves in the last decade. For personal choice i would pick a hotel nearer to Ataturk airport and use the savings on public transport for the times that i want to be acosted every 10 yards by by enthusiastic new best friend forever (or until my wallet is empty and theirs is full). We were lucky as the crowds were not too bad- although it did cost the lives of a few tourists to deter usual crowds at this time of year and that also meant that the street hawkers could pick you off more easily. Despite all the above, would we come back again for a third time------ Nah, ticked all the boxes on the bucket list, time to do somewhere else.
I spent a week in this hotel .it has excellent location close to shops and tramway and monuments the staff is friendly and the room quiet and clean. The breakfast was good and tasty.the hotel has a lot of offers for trip visit dinner and city tour visit I didn't use any of them I wanted to discover by my self.
Yigitalp Hotel is a real find for your stay in Istanbul. We had a wonderful second visit to Istanbul and much of that was due to this hotel. Yigitalp is near the Sultanahmet and easily in walking distance. If you do not want to walk and enjoy Istanbul along the way, the tram stop is right around the corner and takes you directly to the Old Town. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, has a friendly staff, and large and comfortable rooms. Don't leave here without enjoying the hotel spa - traditional hammam's in Istanbul cannot compete with the hammam provided at Yigitalp. Bravo! The front desk staff speak and understand English. Talk to Sezai, he will steer you right and freely help with advice and help.
Great location & Nice hotel 2nd visit We spent 10 days in Istanbul and we were pleased to get a nice room, this is Our 2nd time in this nice Hotel, which was quite the cultural experience. The Hotel was clean and nicely updated and had both a nice lower level restaurant and decent lobby on the ground floor. The breakfast was ample and varied, the location of the hotel close to the Grand bazaar is perfect, tram station - 200 m, a short walk to the major historical sites, the Blue Mosque and. Hagia Sofia, plus nice restaurant district close by. Very interesting and safe neighbourhood.
The Yigitalp hotel is NOT within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque or the Aya Sophia.... you HAVE to be able to use the tram or the metro to get there. The rooms are cramped, and the one I had was just big enough for a double bed. There was not even space for a chair. I had to put my laptop on the bar fridge, and sit on the corner of the bed to work! Very limited cupboard space had me hanging clothing all over the room! The air conditioning in the room also did not work, and the hotel reception told me that it was because this is change of season time! On the day that I arrived, the receptionist sold me a day tour that was very expensive, and proved to be a total waste of money.... and I fell for it because she told me I should not trust the locals with what they had to offer! I found better food at better value outside of the hotel. I really would not recommend this stop for travelers to Istanbul.
The hotel stay was good; close to the Grand bazaar and trains. We didn't enjoy breakfast. We went for our first Turkish bath in the hotel's lower level spa. We didn't know what to expect, but ended up having a fantastic experience. The 'bather' was thoughtful and discreet, and our masseuse (from Georgia) was fantastic - one of the best massages we ever had. We would definitely recommend it.
