We stayed at this hotel between 3-6 of January 2018. Because we were the first time in Istanbul, we used the taxi service offered by the hotel, at a price of 48 euros, round trip (3 persons). We arrived at the hotel at 12 o'clock and they already gave us the room. The two men from the reception were very nice and helpul during our staying. The hotel rooms are clean, the towels are being changed daily, but I think the hotel walls are made of paper because you can hear everything happens in the other rooms. We had only very noisy and rude neighbors and we were disturbed by them all the time. Also, at 7 o'clock in the morning, you will be wake up by the nearby mosque prayer. It's not necessarily a nice thing to be woken up at 7 o'clock in vacation, but it's part of the Istanbul spirit. Breakfast is a swedish buffet, but I can say it is very poor. The hotel is located close to the Aksaray tram stop (line T1). It's a very crowded tram at certain times of the day. The area around the hotel is a commercial one, with many shops (not necessarily of a high quality) and very crowded. The Grand Bazar is at about 20 minutes distance from the hotel, and the Blue Mosque, Agya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Cistern Basil at about 30-40 minutes. But you can also use the tram to get to them, it will take only 10 minutes. The restaurants area is about 30 minutes away from the hotel.
The hotel is very comfortable and well maintained. The rooms are clean and a daily maid service ensures this. Bedroom has wall mounted TV, mini bar (enough space for your own cold drinks), wooden floor and has double glazed windows. You most likely will hear the morning call to prayer but that adds to the character of being in Istanbul. The bathroom has a walk in shower (plenty of hot water), toiletries are replenished as required (soap and shampoo) and towels are replaced daily. The hotel WiFi is free and we had no issues with speed or connection. Other reviewers mention the location being in a 'commercial' area; this is correct but it does not impact on enjoying Istanbul to the fullest. Within 5 minutes you are at the main Metro Station that connect to many 'tourist areas'. 10 Minutes in another direction takes you to the Tram stop at Aksaray. This tram line passes all the places you would want to see as a tourist; Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia. Walking from the hotel and along the route of the Tram Line is great, enjoy the views along the way. The Istanbul Card is good to have - can be used on the Trams, Bosphorus Ferries and the Funiculars. Breakfast in the hotel is buffet style, the Turkish version of a continental breakfast, is plentiful and all fresh; certainly good enough to set you up for a days sightseeing. Staff at the hotel were always pleasant and helpful. Definitely would stay here again on our next trip to Istanbul.
The hotel is located in a business area (clothes, shoes, import/export), so there is not much diversity around. You will find restaurants and shops within walking distance. To go to Hagia Sophia you need to walk about 30 min from the hotel... The room was perfectly clean, comfortable bed, big/clean toilet, the wifi worked very well for us. Breakfast alright, nothing special.
This hotel isn't just cosy, its staff and location are tops... i give it the thumbs up. I loved everything about it and happy with the amount paid for the quality service received. Key thing i loved about this place: - service was friendly and always willing to help - breakfast - close to everything - cost - room cleanliness and appearance The only thing that you have to ask for is a kettle and an iron if required.
+ The room decoration is very good. It's clean. It feels "rich". The bed is excellent and the bathroom is way above average. The breakfast was good, although the clients are not very upscale (from arab countries, russia or turkey). They come to the breakfast dressed with their pyjama, slippers... - The location. It is in a sort of corporate commercial area of Istanbul with wholesale selling of clothes. So there are many trucks around. The walk to the grand bazar and to Agia Sophia is not too much really. We even did it twice in a day. Count 20min maybe. Overall the location does not make you feel "rich" in any way...
It was a nice stay with my family for 5 nights..z hotel is well situated!easy access to the town,5 min walk to reach the tram. Clean room, good breakfast, nice &shelling team. Fair price👍🏻and I will recommend it
The place is very nice and cozy, with a very delightful breakfast, but is a bit far from taksim square. You need a taxi or a train to reach taksim, you can't reach it by walking, you will need a lot of time. The spa and massage in this hotel are very good.
Perfectly situated in walking distance of Hagia Sophia & Grang Bazaar. Extremely friendly staff & management. Excellent breakfast & Spa. Hotel can arrange tours. Spa was an absolute treat after a long flight.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Helpful staff, good rooms, generous buffet breakfast and close to the tram station (350m, but some of it is uphill). The bathrooms are very well equipped - loved the shower! Unfortunately the corridors do smell of smoke; smoking seems big in Turkey.
Hotel a bit small but typical of these relatively central hotels in the side streets on the golden horn. Relatively easy walking distance of the key sights if you are reasonably fit and easy access to buses and trams if you are not. As usual watch out for the taxi drivers who seem allergic to the most direct route and don't trust the hotel reception staff to order or negotiate a taxi on your behalf unless you are happy to pay 3 times the meter rate which is why they refuse to switch them on or take you on the short route via Syria. Food at breakfast and lunch was passable and not horrendously expensive but don't change any currency at the hotel as they seem to lock their exchange rate in their own favour at whatever was the best rate for themselves in the last decade. For personal choice i would pick a hotel nearer to Ataturk airport and use the savings on public transport for the times that i want to be acosted every 10 yards by by enthusiastic new best friend forever (or until my wallet is empty and theirs is full). We were lucky as the crowds were not too bad- although it did cost the lives of a few tourists to deter usual crowds at this time of year and that also meant that the street hawkers could pick you off more easily. Despite all the above, would we come back again for a third time------ Nah, ticked all the boxes on the bucket list, time to do somewhere else.
