I stayed at the hotel at the end of may and it was great. Check in went smooth and the receptionist explained everything clearly. Rooms are good, location is excellent. The only poor thing is the breakfast, it suites more a 2 star hotel. In general its a good and pleasant stay
Our experience with this hotel was very bad even considering the amount we paid. We booked it via bookings.com. Check in was smooth but what followed afterwards was so bad. Here is a summary, 1. There was this weird smell in room and lobby cigarette or something. And I thought maybe next day after room service it would go away but no. 2. The staff or reception just gave us the keys to room. Didn't tell us anything about pool, timings etc. I mean every hotel we stayed in turkey (cheaper then Zurich) had the curtesy to atleast show us around. 3. When we checked out the receptionist asked us to wait so that they can do final check of room (understandable every hotel does that). The person came back and said ok sir 2 water bottles 2 vodka and some more stuff from Mini bar pay for it. Since we didn't use the minibar at all, we didn't even open it. My husband said there must be some misunderstanding with room no. He said no. My husband said ok show me. He went with the guy to the room and found out all the bottles were lying on the bed with only the seal opened. Yes they were full of water vodka etc so nobody drank them. My husband took a picture and came down and told receptionist again that we didn't, we didn't even take them out of mini fridge. He said no u have to pay. He told them that we didn't even open the two complementary water bottles cause we never used them. Then we got upset and asked them to check their security cameras, or ask house keeping and find out who has been going to our room. Lastly we said ok call the police because we are not paying for a service or product we didn't consume. And that's when the receptionist said ok please go. 4. Till day two we weren't sure if pool is free to use or we have to pay. The loud music of disco. So please be aware, we stayed in the hotel at the start of our vacation and I would not recommend them at all. And I waited to come back to give review because I wanted to see how other hotels treat us so that I have a bench mark.
Hotel is located in good area with 20 min walking distance to Sultan Ahmet. Generally, that is good about this hotel. After coming, we wait almost 2 hours on reception lobby for room to be prepared, even we reserved and confirmed everithing 20 days before visit. Hotel has very poor noise isolation between rooms, so you can hear even ordinary speaking in neighbor rooms. Additionally, our room was on 5th floor bellow swimming pool area and first night there was water noise like you sleep under the waterfall, and we changed a room. Air condition has no enough power to cool room (end of april) and lowest temperature in the room was 27 degrees. It is also first time in my life that there is no toilet bowl brush in the room. On the end I can say, never again.
It is a nice hotel but needs refurbishment. Rooms need updating. We were given a presidential suite which was decent size for a family of 4 but it looked quite outdated. Shower door wasn't working properly despite reported to house keeping two times. Room temperature wasn't very good. In general, it seemed like a 3 star hotel. The staff were friendly. Reception was helpful. Not many spoke English as they speak only Turkish or Arabic.
Everything is amazing about this hotel, it is modern the service is good, the food is delicious, the views are splendid, it's near the city centre, the nearby area is active and full of cafes and music at night and light, etc. the atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming.
Zurich Hotel is a pretty place with friendly staff especially Esra ( she help us with every information we need ) but everybody there is friendly and help us . The area was clean , so close to public transport .A room not so specious but we were having new towels everyday no problems with rooom temperature after a cold day on taksim in few minutes our room become so hot ...What we didnt like and we hope in future those things will change is the fact that the wifi was poor , the breakfast was not so various , we were booking a room with double bed we received a twin room , a new hairdryer more profesional it would be good .The room light was poor .The carpet need a profesional cleaning .About pool is unconfortable and small ...the water is cold and you should go with your towels there ..a little bit uncomfortable . Nevermind all those things are suggetions but I recommend this place with pleasure ...you will never forgot as a said before is a nice place so close by public transport and others places you should go in Instanbul . Zurich Restaurant has delicious food but there are few places were you can eat good meal in this area or shop /market ( there are 2 3 shops but the prices are so big for everything i think they give you the price by how you look , where you come from they know that you are tourist and make the price double /triple ) you should use instabul card is easy to go everywhere .The hotel is not so far away from ataturk airport you can make a booking for transfer from the airport to hotel or you can chose the metro . My trip was safe .I am happy because I have come here .Thanks !!
I spent three nights in this hotel. The facilities were standard and the room was fine and tidy. Although it is located in a neverland, far from visiting sites, you can reach for them in half an hour. The only thing you can find in the neighborhood is cheap local markets, which may have fans, but not me! Another problem was that no body knew English there. The receptionists knew only Turkish and Russian. So we had to communicate by body language with each other!
i was in istanbul for business trip, the Zurich hotel have clean room and Restourant have life Music and goooooood songs but but the have worse reception , we did not order any think but the put more that 200 TL in our room and also the ask about more money ????? the have worse reception
w spend 5 night at this hotel it is only 0ne minute away from lalali tram stop, you do net need a taxi jest take the underground from attatourk airport( do not forget to bu istanbulcard simieler to oyster card in london) good service nice breakfast close to transport and attraction highly recomened
We stayed at the Hotel Zurich Istanbul for three pleasant nights. It is located in the heart of Istanbul old city, surrounded by restaurants and easy access to many shopping and touristic venues. A buffet breakfast is provided on the top floor, which encompasses great views of the surrounding area and the Suleymaniye Mosque, which is all lit up in the dim, morning light. The range of food is okay, although not up to large buffet standards as may be experienced in other hotels. There is an onsite indoor pool, Turkish baths, as well as a spa and wellness centre. Our refurbished suite was exceptionally large to say the least, with modern decor, a huge bathroom, spa, shower, separate toilet and a very comfortable bed. Staff here, are extremely friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is available within the rooms and the reception area which seemed to work fine for us. There is also an onsite restaurant and of course, room service is available. Only a few kilometers away, or four tram stops will get you to the Sultan Ahmet district, to many of the famous sites to visit including; Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sofia museum, The Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque) and more. The Grand Bazaar is also approximately a kilometer away from the hotel and within easy walking distance. Although it seems by some reviews, that some guests didn’t enjoy their accommodation as much as we did, our overall stay, was very enjoyable.
