This was the ideal stay at the Senator Hotel and the location was just perfect as the hotel is very close to most of the attractions and metro and tram service. The hotel has a family feel to it and the staff were super helpful and kind. They attended to all of our needs when we asked without hesitation. I totally loved the street outside of the hotel as it embodied that local Turkish charm, where you could just sit for hours and people watch and chat to the locals. The facilities were just fine, and if you needed anything, the hotel is happy to provide and I loved the bed. It was lovely and comfy and a welcome relief after hours of walking in Istanbul. The Senator is definitely my first choice for Istanbul.
Mr Erdal thank you so much for your help. Nice hotel good service evrthing was oke restaurant pizza was super Thanx for your patient.nice breakfast will book again soon with my 5 kids this time thank you I love istanbul.............
the lubby is small but fast check in and check out , rooms are good and very clean , breakfast is delicuious as all hotels in turkey but can be better , near to green line metro istanbul , oppissite to big mosque alfatih
Hotel was nice, staff very helpful and happy to help. Rooms are comfy enough, decent mattress, but TV channels are limited for English language programmes. WIFI speed okay for general browsing but could be faster for downloading video. Have stayed three times this year on business trips to Istanbul and the hotel has been ideal for that. Note taxis from there sometimes try and use a fixed charge for runs to the airport. It should be between 50-60tl (as of March 17) don't get suckered into paying more.
I've checked in for 3 nights on Sunday afternoon and I'm writing this review few hours after checking in. Good things first: It is a hotel with a good location, everything is pretty much close. I've walked few blocks and found the Metro and Tram stations, an opened Exchange Office, ATMs and few mid-range restaurants and plenty fast-foods. I liked the lobby - I had my 5 seconds of being impressed by the piano and the bar, very classy. Now, what's on my mind - I'm dissapointed. I'm recently traveling a lot and I have chosen this Hotel for a few reasons: 4*, Best Western Chain, location etc. I was so disappointed about the room: a non-smoker Double Standart, with a stain on the bed's cover, cigarette burns stains on the carpet, dust in the wardrobe's shelves. And then there's the Receptionist: a Gentlemen that helps you get the keys for your room, trying to impress by faking an "upgrade" for my reservation. And there is more, remember I said I found an Exchange Office minutes away from the Hotel, well asking the Receptionis wheee I could get some money exchangend, I've been told that there aren't Exchange Offices around and thet don't know any that would be opened on Sundays, then automaticly he tried to to "help" me exchange some Euros with an "only for you offer" when hotel's cash exchange counter was officialy closed (because is Sunday - as I've been told). I wouldn't say he wasn't polite, because he was, but nothing else, he wasn't helpful and definitly not trustworthy. I've read about problems with taxi drivers in Istanbul that aren't to be trusted in any way, now I've met a receptionist, that made me feel the same.
Stayed here for four nights in February in the King suite. Room 510 Amazing room given the price a simply huge expanse to spend time in. A 1.5 metre SPA in your bedroom a seperate large bathroom. A seperate lounge area and massive king bed room Can't really fault the room at all. The breakfast was ok, nothing amazing but acceptable. However the gentlemen was very nice letting me take some food up to the room as my girlfriend had the flu. The in room dining is a let down, only used it once as we were unwell and tired after a long day flying. What disappointed me is that on both Saturday and Sunday morning around 0830 an angle grinder started right outside the internal window. Unacceptable in my opinion. The location is 7/10.. you can walk to tourist sights within 20 minutes.. Blue Mosque etc. I would stay again sans the angle grinder.
Visited the hotel with my wife in Jan, rooms are ok but the hotel is going through some refurbishment. Hotel is located in a good area if you want to visit the old town but if you want to go to taksim area then you have to take the cab or metro. The guys at the reception are more keen on selling over priced excursions rather giving you any information about the city. Even if you ask them where is the closest metro station they will make it so difficult for you that you are better off exploring it yourself. They just want to sell excursions which you can do by yourself, most of the places are at walking distance. Breakfast is also very limited and they start closing the breakfast before the closing time if you get there even 5 minutes before the closing time they refuse to serve you and tell you that everything is finished. Area is not too bad but the cab drivers are all cheaters I've been ripped off three times by the taxi drivers if you go on meter then they will drive around the whole town even if you are at 5 minutes walking distance. If you push them to pay cash without meter then they will still tell you wrong price and then negotiate. Another thing they do in the cabs is if you give them 100 tl they will switch it quickly and say that you only gave them 5. Then you will give them another 100 and more likely as change they can give you fake currency in return. You need to be very careful with them and pay exact change. If you can then just take public transport. Trams and trains take you to most of the places in town. It's a shame that it's such a beautiful city but locals really take advantage of tourists and rip them off.
The hotel is a walking distance from tram (up the street 5 min.) and Sultanahmet (10 min.)The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The area around hotel is not so great, there are some restaurants and shops. The only disappointing experience was at the bar. They promote happy hours but they charge the entire price, we have told this to the receptionist but noting has changed. So guys if you don't have happy hours then remove the commercials in the elevator and on the other places.
Hi guys. I visited the property with my wife between 17 and 23 November 2016. Must say it was a lovely and extremely comfortable stay. Free shuttle from Ataturk Airport. Good speedy check in. Free upgrade to junior suite. Lovely 2 sided view - city as well as sea view. Huge room for the price. Lovely and ample breakfast. Could be better with some turkish delight. The room had everything u need, even got a kettle with free tea stuff etc. Complimentary water bottles each day. Nice house keeping each day. The hotel has sauna, jacuzzi and turkish hamman. All of these you can reserve privately. No lunch or dinner restaurant. But could order from bar. Now the best part.....The Management! Headed by super-dedicated Mr Dogan Bozkuş, the team of reception guys Erdal, Kemal and mustafa and not to miss email guy Mr Ustunol, it was just great. The GM Mr Dogan went all the to prepare the spa and health club for us with a pipe when the guy from spa went somewhere. And most gratwful to him for getting us a shuttle back to the airport free of cost! Mr Mustafa even gave us an istanbul card to use during the stay. The area is not bad at all....Aksaray and vezneciler tram metro stations nearby. We even walked up and down to Hagia Sophia with ease. So all in all it was a 5 star stay.
Hello guys. Me and my wife are living in this hotel right now. So far excellence has prevailed in all aspects. Free upgrade to junior suite and the room is almost similar to what is described in pictures at most sights. The breakfast could be just a tiny bit better, only hinting at extending variety. Mustafa is the concierge, receptionist etc etc. Good at everything. Rooms are made everyday, a kettle was required: promptly provided. Bathrobes, amenities all there and good too. The location is peace and quiet at night, although it is busy in the morning. Both aksaray and vezniciler tram or metros are very near. So far we r loving it.
