we were expecting more from this hotel. The room was too basic (not up to the 4 stars). The staff wasn't polite, up to the point of not even saying hello when we came in the hotel. the breakfast was the worse I've had in years. We wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. The only positive point is the location.

A great hotel where I would recommend to anyone. Clean room and nice staffs they are very helpful. Location also quite good as just 5mins walking distance to tram station and Turkish bath.

We had a 24-hr layover in Istanbul, so we decided to stay at recital hotel for the night. I'm so glad we did! The location is excellent. It is within a very short walking distance (5-10 min) of many things to see in Sultanahmut, so it was perfect for our short trip. On top of being an amazing location, the staff was also excellent! During our whole 2-week trip, the staff at this hotel was by far the best and most pleasant. They were VERY polite, very kind, and offered to help us find our way around the city, and also gave us some good restaurant recommendations. Besides all this, the room was very nice. We had a fantastic view from the balcony, the bathroom was nice and big and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing that could have been better was the wifi. The wifi service was spotty at times. But this did NOT impact my positive experience. After all, who needs wifi when you're in an amazing city like Istanbul?? All in all, this hotel was excellent, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a great value hotel in a great location.

Air condition did not work right on our first 2nights. Frig never worked, even when we complained about not having a cold water. No ice machine is at the hotel and no access to any cold beverages either. Internet was very poor too.

We checked in late due to delayed flight. We were tired and stressed out from our trip. When we got to the hotel past 7pm the staff was very accomodating. I failed to request for a double bed during my booking but it was tsken cared of with no fuss. We were even given a room (503) with a balcony and view of the bosphorous. the room was very clean, with all amenities i needed and walking distance to major tourist spots. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. The only thing i didnt appreciate is they have only 3 channels in english. All news channels. I didnt mind this at all.

Comfortable, clean, efficient, great shower and bed. Helpful and knowledgeable receptionist. Historical sites and all important tram are within walking distant.

Location was great. On quiet side street in old city, 2 mins walk to main street, and within 12 mins of blue mosque, HagiaSofia, Sultanahmet station, grand bazaar, etc The staff was friendly, effective, and helpful. The lobby was nice, clean, simple, with free water and juice all day. The breakfast was buffet style, decent # of options but quality and taste was just average. The rooftop, although basic, was a refreshing and relaxing place to hangout. We got a superior room with a balcony over looking the sea. The room was great. Spacious, clean, modern. The bathroom was also fully renovated with a rainshower. We had a very pleasant stay here. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a simple clean quiet spacious hotel close to all the main sites.

What a lovely little hotel. The staff and accommodation are gracious and warm. Breakfast is wonderful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms are far superior many I've encountered in other similarly-priced hotels. The staff is particularly noteworthy. I was working for part of my trip, and they were absolutely wonderful in calling me cabs and helping me plan travel routes to ensure I arrived at my destinations on time. They were equally helpful when I was looking for site-seeing assistance, and always up for chatting about local attractions, food, and experiences. Can't recommend them enough. The location is excellent for seeing the Old City; I will say that it's a bit of a distance from some of the city's newer attractions, and that cab drivers can have some trouble finding the hotel--carry one of the hotel's business cards with a map on the back of it to deal with that potential challenge, if you don't speak Turkish.

Their was a slight mix-up with our room size, but the staff quickly accommodated us with an extra room. Staff was helpful whenever there were any issues and met our special needs. The hotel is pretty much close to all the tourist attractions (Sultan Ahmet district, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, etc). Terrace had a very nice view and we spent time there almost every day. Would definitely come back if we return to Istanbul.

The Recital is a great hotel and is very central to downtown Istanbul. The room was spacious and the staff was very hospitable. The issue I had was the lack of a gym. I reserved a room at this hotel specifically because it said it had a gym, but when I got there they said the gym would not be opened until the summer. Other than that, a great hotel.
