Well located hotel on a quiet street.

First visit to Istanbul. I really liked the hotel location and it's quiet street. The locals were very friendly. The hotel staff were equally as friendly and helpful. If you are on a budget and not fussed with frills then I do recommend this hotel. Thanks!

Pro: 1. Reasonable price 2. Very friendly and responsive staff 3. Spacious family room 4. very close to tourist attractions. Cons: 1. Old hotel furniture - the mattress caused me back pain for the whole week of stay (7 days!) I already prepaid for the hotel otherwise would definitely check out and find another hotel 2. Food in the neighbourhood is super expensive 3. They don't change towel by default everyday. You need to request if you prefer your towel to be cleaned daily. 4. The room cleaning is lousy. Somedays they don't empty my trash etc. 5. non-functional toilet's sink faucet. The water was splashing everywhere. I just do my washing and teeth brushing in the shower.

Great location, but a bit run down.

Hotel is in a great location, in Sultanahmet, where many of the main Istanbul attractions are located. Staff is great. Hotel is a bit rundown, noisy neighborhood. My room the first night had a strong stench, likely from a backed up sewer, but staff moved me to a different room the following day. Breakfast is so so, lots of cheeses but not much else.

Excellent value

Cheerful staff and good size room. Bathroom shower tiny and a lack of hot water only draw backs. Great location for sights and perfect if you want to visit Blue Mosque. Pleasant roof terrace too!

This hotel is CLOSED - Do not book here!

I made a booking via hotels.com, which was confirmed, and arrived at the hotel on May 1, 2015 to check in. Imagine my surprise to find a boarded up and locked building with nobody staffing it. The storekeeper across the street confirmed that the hotel has been closed, maybe for renovations, with no known date of reopening. Shame on you, hotels.com for listing available rooms at a facility that is not even open! Please remove this from your listings. Please also provide a viable option for your customers to contact your customer service team to report serious issues like this.

It was a building site (GREAT neighborhood)

We arrived at the hotel only to find that it was a building site due to "emergency renovations". We were moved to a different hotel (across the road). The hotel we were placed in was nice, clean, comfortable and in a GREAT area. I can't really rate the Maritime hotel, as we didn't stay there and it seemed like the hotel had been under renovation for a while.

Great, moderately priced hotel, conveniently located

We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Maritime in September. It proved to be a well run, moderately priced hotel. The hotel is situated on a quiet back street in the Sultanamet area. We had a pleasant view overlooking the street from our window. The room was small, but clean, and was a good value considering the price we paid. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The manager, (Marcel?) was really helpful and provided us with all the tourist information we could possibly use. Breakfast was fine. If we should return again to visit Istanbul, we would definitely consider this hotel.

Nice hotel with Excellent staff

I stayed here from 23rd Dec 2014 to 30th Dec 2014. The hotel is very close to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet. It is down the road from the little Hagia Sophia, and about a five minute walk from the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and the Tram stop. The Grand bazaar is about a 10 minute walk away or you can take the Tram and be there in a matter of minutes. The staff at the hotel are excellent especially Mr Pascal. He is very knowledgeable of the area and will give you ideas on planning your day and the best places to eat. He is also very helpful. The airlines lost our luggage and Mr Pascal was constantly on the phone with the airlines trying to find them. The rooms are clean and are tidied everyday with your basic amenities. Only downside to the room was not enough sockets to charge two phones at the same time and the walls are quite thin so you can hear noise and music from outside. But other than that it's excellent! The breakfast provided was a traditional Turkish breakfast. The cook was nice, she would cook custom made omelettes if you requested her too. Overall a very pleasant stay at Mari Time hotel, the staff were a pleasure and made our stay even more welcome :).

Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel needs to be renovated. Peeling and patched wallpaper. Accumulated grime. Room had considerable water damage from leaking roof.

Friendly staff and great location

We stayed for four nights in September and enjoyed every minute. The staff were excellent and they made us feel very welcome. Rooms are not large but they have everything you need including tea and coffee, free WiFi and a hairdryer. Breakfast is continental with the usual bread, cheese, cold meats etc. A toaster would have been nice but it's a minor complaint. The location is excellent. It's 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and in a quiet street so you don't get traffic noise. There are plenty of places to eat but I would recommend Cheers Lighthouse which is opposite the hotel.

Lovely little hotel close to all main attractions of Sultanahmet. Staff friendly, rooms great, bathrooms clean - what more could you ask for the price. Best of all they have family suites consisting of 2 rooms that we stayed in so everyone got their own space.

Great location, really friendly

Excellent hotel in a great location for all the major sights of Istanbul. Situated away from the major tourist roads in a lovely street with restaurants nearby (try the superb Karina Fish restaurant at the end of the street) and a shop for water, crisps, chocolate, wine and beer just opposite. Incredibly helpful staff especially Mehmet. Family room consisted of two rooms (double and twin plus a cot and two bathrooms) with corridor and one entrance.

Hotel in perfect location to the main Sites

Hotel in perfect Location to the main sites. 5 mins to the Blue mosque. Wifi worked well. Restraunts were very close. Shop was right outside the hotel. I found the selection of breakfast disappointing. It was the same choices every morning and a bit limited. For a family with young children, there was not much the children could do in their rooms or watch the TV as channels as they were all in Turkish. There was not roof view, as that section was closed off. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect to many of the main sites. I would go to the hotel again, but not with young children.

Great Location near Sultanameht District

Right off of the back of the Blue Mosque, this tucked away hotel gives a no-frills very friendly stay to any wishing to be in the heart of Istanbul's OId City. Don't expect a great view, but what it lacks in scenery, it makes up for in location, and quiet in the middle of the night. It's within quick walking distance of the major sites, and it's safe as well. The rooms are ok in size, and don't offer much. However, they're comfortable, and breakfast is included each morning. the staff are very friendly, and the owner of the corner shop across the street is awesome.

In the middle

The Maritime is right in the middle of Sultanamhet. Just a couple of hundred yards away from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. very central as everything is in walking distance. I enjoyed my time though on a return trip I might look elsewhere in the city for accommodation. The rooms are very small and relatively expensive for what you get. There are plenty of other alternatives around the area I would explore next time if I came here or I would probably go elsewhere in the city. Just too many tourists (as in hordes) in this area and all is geared towards getting their money as one would expect. Having said that wherever I stay to would need to be on the Metro tram link which is just fantastic and cheap at about $1.50 a trip. It takes you anywhere you would want to go.
