We had a splendid stay. The room, the staff, the breakfast, the service, all extraordinary. Location was awesome for seeing the Old City. Loved getting to know the people at the hotel, staff and guests. The pretrip planning and communication was exceptional.
We love Istanbul and often arrange to stopover on our trips to Europe and Africa. Ibrahim Pasha is a beautiful old hotel, charmingly appointed. Great ample breakfasts, very attentive service. Front desk guy was extremely helpful, intelligent, opinionated. Two-minute walk to hippodrome, five minutes to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia--you cannot beat this location!! Rooftop terrace where tea, coffee, drinks are served with beautiful view of HS and BM and Sea of Marmara. We have stayed here twice on different trips. Will hopefully return.
a unique and accommodating wonderful hotel; comfortable accommodations...lovely rooms - terrific shower!, but most importantly terrific staff who will try to please your every wish...a most perfect location right in the heart of the old city...so close to the tram and close to fabulous restaurants, museums and mosques!!! you will be happy you chose this hotel...& when you enjoy their simple but very full breakfasts, don't forget to try their fig jam!!!!
This charming hotel provided comfort the moment we stepped in, with a warm fireplace adding heat and glow to a winter's day. The lobby is well acquainted with cozy seating, books to read that guests have left and swapped over the years. Breakfast is served round the corner and throughout the day a lovely man helps to make complimentary fruit infused water, tea and coffee for you. This is always a welcome after a trip out to see all the sights, between a 5-10 min walk to all the historical and beautiful views. From the rooftop terrace the magnificent Blue Mosque captivates you- and the views of the Bosphorous and the sounds of the seagulls will be a sight i'll always remember. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely and spacious (i was happy with this room size so think the standard room might have been abit small for the two of us). The bed was comfortable, TV with quite afew english news channels, free fruit and water served daily. The only thing I'd note for improvement where possible is our bathroom was very cold stepping into- we needed to line the very cold floors with towels and remembered not to touch the very cold walls too. The gentlemen at concierge were always happy to help and gave us a map with their recommendations for food and sights to see. We walked to a popular and famous fish restaurant that was splendid! There was a pot with lots of umbrellas for guests to use and bring back- which was such a perfect thought given the cold rainy weather of winter! Small things like that really made this place feel warm and well thought out. The men were also quick with arranging our hotel transfer which from the hotel to the Airport Ataturk, was 70 lira at midnight. I wish tripadvisor could give a 1/2 star rating- this would be a 5 star accomodation if not for the cold bathroom so will rank it a very good 4 1/2 stars for me. Thankyou Ibrahim Pasha for a wonderful stay!!
Tucked away just a stone's throw away from the Blue Mosque, the hotel provides a quiet retreat and comfort in the evenings, with the convenience of nearby shops, restaurants and other sights all within a 10 min walk from the hotel. The staff are very friendly, helpful and when asking for tips on what to do, they do not recommend an outrageously priced tour or company (unlike other places). The rooms are very smartly designed with the perfect balance between comfort and utilization - for the space, you feel comfortable enough as they provide plenty of hidden away shelves to store your bags and stuff. The bathroom is modest but important where it needs to be - being a strong and hot rain shower. The breakfast spread every morning is modest but decent enough to get your day started. We were a small family of 2 adults and 2 young children below 7, and we had a very comfortable 6 night stay here. For the price, this is by far the best and most thoughtfully designed boutique hotel in Istanbul! Be sure to check out the rooftop for amazing views of the surrounding area! Their in-house guide for a self-walking tour is also excellent!
A small hotel with character. Just a few steps away from the blue mosque and within 10/15 minutes from Ayasofia, the Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern, the Grand Bazaar and the tram station (Sultanahmet). A good place to stay for a first timer in Istanbul. The staff helped me with my airport transfers and my day tours! I also like the waiting area of the hotel - lots of books and nice sofas!
This is a lovely base for Istanbul exploration. Literally a spit away from the Blue Mosque and many other tourist hightlights. Rooms are comfortable and clean, staff friendly and very helpful. And the breakfast offering is superb, with anything from cereals, scrambled eggs, breads, pastries, fruit, cheeses and more... (see pic!) You get plenty of bang for your buck here. We arrived at a very ungodly hour of the morning, and were happily accommodated - 24h reception service and allowed to check in early at no extra charge - thus getting a very welcome clean up and rest before setting off to explore this fascinating city. We were there in winter so couldn't make the best use of the open upper deck, but the view of a lit up Blue Mosque at night from there is simply spectacular.
We stayed for three nights at the Ibrahim Pasha. The staff were exceptional - very helpful, explained the area clearly and helpfully and brought teas, coffees and water to the room at no extra cost. The location in the Sultanahmet is perfect to explore all the sights. The roof terrace has stunning views over the Blue Mosque (which you cannot beat elsewhere in the city) and the atmosphere of the hotel is cosy, friendly and relaxed. My only comment would be that the twin room we were in was a little small, other than that I would definitely highly recommend this hotel and will return!
Ibrahim Pasha hotel is not a "luxury" hotel, but it is very satisfactory in every way. Its location is superb, just by the Hippodrome, a short walk from the Blue Mosque and many main attractions. The room is comfortable and very clean, and the room service is great, with free tea and water to boot. The breakfast is good, with vegetables, eggs, good selection of breads, fruits, yogurt etc. In good weather you can enjoy the roof balcony with stunning views on the Blue Mosque. Finally, the price is fair. This was our first time in this hotel and we are very likely to return when back in Istanbul.
I loved everything about this hotel. As you enter it feels like you've arrived home after a long trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful . The gentlemen who prepares breakfast is incredibly talented, we arrived one afternoon to be served one of his beautiful cakes without any additional cost. In true Turkey hospitality tea is always available and served with a smile. The rooms were comfortable, modern and had little surprises like a CD player and a collection of local music. The terrace has beautiful views just get there early to book your spot to watch the sunset over the blue mosque. I will definitely choose this hotel again.
