This is an above average hotel for a very reasonable price. They charged to use the safe in your room and dragging bags from the metro through cobbled stone hilly lane ways was a bit of a challenge, especially when departing, it is all up hill. From the airport, take the metro to Zeytinburnu and change to the tram and get off at Cemberlitas (the stop before Sultanahmet) and it's about a five minutes walk. The transport is really easy but then discovering which street to take is another issue. I don't know why hotels don't give instructions on their website on how to get to the hotel, Every hotel ought to have instructions on how to get there using public transport from the local airport. Anyway, you'll need one token for the metro and one for the tram but they are really cheap and the whole trip is about 50 minutes. I did not have breakfast and there are literally thousands of fantastic restaurants close by and as you go towards the Blue Mosque. Staff are fairly casual but with a good sense of humur.
Stay away! This filthy cess pool could not even provide adequate services to allow use of a toilet- when we checked in on October 25 we were not informed that the water was going to be turned off for 3 hours and when we tried to use the toilet or sink that is when we realized that there was no water service available. The hotel staff were very unhelpful and did not accommodate for this major inconvenience I would have expected water bottles to be provided so that we could have used the washroom - very disappointing and unpleasant experience
Spent a night at this hotel, nice clean room, though small in size for one person, but again, good value for money. Enjoyed traditional Turkish breakfast, location is the best plus, with few minutes walk from historical blue mosque and other places, staff was pleasant especially with mid night check in...
We got a stay in Grand Yavuz Hotel by Turkish airlines on our transit to Europe. The hotel is located in the old historical centre of the city. Blue Mosque, Ayasophia, Grand Bazar, Topkapi Palace are on 10-15 mins walk. The rooms are renovated and are nice & clean. They have free wifi in the rooms. However, the road approaching the hotel is very steep so if you are old then its hard to climb. The rates are very reasonable. We decided to stay one more night and the rate we got from the hotel was cheaper than that we saw on the online booking sites. If you are in a transit then the Turkish airline shuttle is free. But in case of stop over you need to book the shuttle and they have a fixed rate of 100 lira. Taxi normally takes 60 liras from the airport to the hotel. We used careem a lot during our 2 days stay but be careful as careem only operates on credit card in Turkey. If you pay on cash the driver will take the extra amount as tip and might not tell you the real story.
Terrible hotel with water keeps dropping and very average breakfast also far from all the historic sites. much better options in this budget available. Not a surprise that it has the lowest rating among all the hotels in the area. Visited 8 years back and and have heard that people are still complaining but water cutoffs.
a good hotel within 5/10 minute to most major attractions. So a great location saved us a lot of taxi trips. Rooms are clean(ensure u bring your own kettle or iron as this isnt supplied) tidy with most staff apart from the breakfast staff being very friendly and courteous. The breakfast staff were not attentive and didnt seem bothered. The breakfast was quite poor not much selection. apart from these two negative aspects everything else was excellent.
The hotel is beautiful, rooms are also good ..the breakfast is not bad but they have the worst staff ever , especially the breakfast staff they were very rude and unhelpful .. we will never repeat it .. shame
The hotel is walking distance from the main touristic attractions, it's also a 5 minute walk from the tram. Very clean rooms, kind staff and a variety of things for breakfast from fruits to eggs, sweets and vegetables.
Stayed at hotel for one night only, it was a very pleasant stay, very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Staff of the hotel is very friendly. Location of the hotel is very good, just a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet mosque and aya sophia museum.
The hotel is fine, just couple of remarks, it's pretty steep to go to Sultanahmet because hotel is way downhill.. The restaurant breakfast buffet is very very poor not compared to other hotels I usually stayed in Istanbul.
