the hotel was good with a nice stuff and clean rooms beside that the location of the hotel is in the middle of the old city

The Ferman Hotel is perfectly located if you're looking to spend time in the Sultanahmet area. Close to everything, but on a smaller road with limited traffic. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with a nice terrace and an even better view - the Bosphorus, Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque. Perfect. However, the thing that sets the Ferman Hotel apart is it's excellent staff. The Front Desk staff (especially Veysel and Maya) are simply wonderful. They helped arrange everything from shopping to dining to transportation - all with a great sense of humor and attitude. Very knowledgeable and helpful! The staff in the cafe/terrace are also great. Very attentive and helpful - from special attention during breakfast to helping us at night, even when they weren't working. Highly recommended.

The Ferman hotel was a good place to stay overall but not recommended with kids as the staff were not particularly friendly with kids as they would laugh and play and this seem to upset the staff a fair amount. The breakfast buffet was average and sometimes stale as it was the exact same everyday and often they brought out the same food that was leftover from the previous day. The view was really nice from the breakfast rooftop lounge. Location was really good, near top sites in walking distance and many restaurants although need to watch out for the Fresh fish restaurant nearby as they rip people off. Overall i think the Ferman hotel was good but the staff was not very nice.

We got all that we were promised and more. Great location where everything is within walking distance from the Blue mosque to the sea of marmara. The breakfast is a good mix of ethnic and European dishes. The airport is about 20 minutes away and a taxi ride cost 40 liras. The staff were very helpful and professional. A great value for the money.

..plus in-room nescafe coffee maker, and scottish short breads in lobby make for a quick am get-away. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff friendly, reliable for touring, taxi, etc. info.Rooftop bar affords views of sea on one side, of Hagia Sophia on the other, illuminated at night.

Great convenient location to explore Sultanahmet and other parts of Istanbul. Friendly staff. Beautiful terrace views.

Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Also the location is very good - about 5 min walk to Hagia Sofia & Blue Mosque

The Ferman Hotel is a GREAT place to stay while visiting Instanbul. Not only is it right in the heart of everything, but the hotel is exactly as seen in the pictures, to a "tee"!!! I have been on other vacations where the hotel looked great and beautiful online but when arriving, it was not. Not the Ferman - everything was PERFECT!!! The view is remarkable and breakfast every morning was great! The prices are very good for the deal you get! The staff is friendly and helpful and having airport shuttle is fantastic - a sure way your taxi driver doesn't get lost and you get there quickly and safely. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Istanbul

everything was amazing. i highly recommend this hotel

The Freman Hotel is a wonderfully located place on a beautiful street. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the enhanced the wondrous experience of Istanbul. The breakfast left a little to be desired but it was adequate and it's location on a roof terrace overlooking the glories of Istanbul was priceless.

The location (quiet, quaint cobblestoned street in the heart of one of the best areas in Istanbul) can't be beat, and the staff were exceptionally polite and accomodating. I picked this hotel after just a few minutes of research online, based mostly on the price. I would have been happy with just a room to lay my head and store my bags, but I got way more than that. The room was spacious, sophisticated, and very clean. The breakfast options were plentiful, and it was served every morning on the gorgeous rooftop deck with panoramic views overlooking the Blue Mosque and the sea. It was very easy to walk to all the popular sights, resturants, and public transportation. The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are only about three blocks away, and the Grand Bizzare is (at most) a 10 minute walk.

Hotel is comfortable and clean. Staff went out of their way to be hospitable and professional. On a safe and quiet street, just off the main tourist pathways. I'd be pleased to stay in The Ferman next time through Istanbul.

Great location, requires about 7 minutes walking from Sultanahmet train station. Hotel was alright. Its a modern facility with required amenities at the side. Hotel offers simple and basic breakfast, nothing opulent. Staffing is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Bed comfort was ok, but the pillows were very uncomfortable to sleep on.

Steps from the blue mosque on the cobblestone streets of the old quarter, this hotel was comfortable, romantic, and friendly.

In general good hotel but should improve quality of breakfast and better training of staff to improve performance and customer satisfaction . Need also to improve the cleanness of room .

This was my first visit to Turkey. I am really glad that I selected this hotel. To me the first and foremost thing about this hotel is the quality of its personnel. All of them -- from managers to the staff at breakfast -- were extremely nice, friendly and helpful. I commend them for doing such a fantastic job. Among rest of the things, the hotel has a great location and fulfilled my purpose because it was at a walking distance from major historic sites. I had a Ferman room which was one floor below the main lobby. It was neat and clean and in excellent shape. My minor suggestion is that though the writing desk has an ottoman, a higher chair would make it more convenient to use. The TV was multilingual with English programming also. However, an additional English news channel would further increase its utility. Before I booked the room, I had read some reviews about the noise from the nearby trains and was skeptical about selecting it. But in my room I hardly noticed any real noise. Though frequently trains passed by but in fact the A/C in my home is much louder than the sounds that I heard from these trains. Even that sound was only a few seconds long and I rarely heard it on weekend. They never woke me up. Some reviewers also complained about chants coming from mosques. I think it depends on how you see them. They didn't bother me because I saw them as part of the fascinating Istanbul experience. I enjoyed the breakfast at rooftop terrace with views of the sea and the mosque. Someone had complained about the problem of birds “sharing” your food. I noticed that the problem was not at the buffet tables (because they were covered). The little problem was at the guests’ table. But I took care of it by simply covering my food with another plate if I had to leave my table, and hoped that birds would forgive me for this rudeness. Overall I liked this hotel and will stay there again.

Hotel was fine. Upgraded without requesting it into the largest and most expensive room without additional charge - paid for a Junior Suite, so one price level up from the room we actually stayed in. Room had a wonderful view of the Sea of Marmara. Okay, next to a tramline, but all hotels on the Sea of Marmara are - and its not very obtrusive or noisey. One negative was the front desk recommendations for restaurants. Don't believe them - they are getting kick-backs for the standard Istanbul Fish Restaurant scam. Don't fall for it - we knew better.

We had an Executive B&B room - Panoramic view 1st floor room off the lobby. Despite being next to the elevator and lobby, it was quiet for internal noise. This room is spacious and well decorated with large windows. While they look out on a narrow strip of water above the buildings, the near view is of the railroad tracks immediately behind and the backs of poorly kept buildings. Trains were frequent in the daytime, but not badly noisy. Heavy curtains and double glass cut the sound. We slept well. Free laptop to use wi-fi in the lobby. Breakfast room is in basement, no view or windows but good buffet. Location is about three blocks downhill from Blue Mosque inside the old city walls. Several other recommended budget hotels nearby.

Excellent location near Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. What a view from the roof bar! Close to many Turkish Baths (recommend the one that the hotel pushes; not as touristy and half the price). Room was very spacious (King on top floor); could use better bathroom amenities and bedding (sheets kept falling off!). Overall, very nice experience and good change of pace from large business hotels.

This hotel is in a great location for seeing the major sights of Istanbul. Walking and taking the city tram was very easy from this location. It's also located on a quaint street full of hotels/restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We'd definately recommend the Ferman Hotel to others.
