Beach Nourishment Notice – Isle of Palms Like all barrier islands, the Isle of Palms experiences natural cycles of sand accumulation and erosion. While most of our beach remains healthy, two specific areas in Wild Dunes are showing signs of significant erosion. • North Hot Spot: In front of the Ocean Club and Seascape communities, located at the northern tip of the island. • South Hot Spot: Along Dunecrest Lane, Beachwood East, and Seagrove Villa. To address these concerns, the City of Isle of Palms will begin an emergency beach nourishment project on April 10. The project involves relocating sand from a sandbar located in front of the Property Owners Beach House to these erosion-prone areas. Work can only be conducted during low tide, when the sandbar is accessible. Below is the tentative schedule: • April 10–24: Nourishment of the South Hot Spot • April 24–May 8: Nourishment of the North Hot Spot • May 8–22: Return to the South Hot Spot for additional nourishment We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to protect and preserve our beaches. For updates, please visit the City of Isle of Palms site.

The condo was clean and updated. Michael met us there and helped us take up our luggage as the elevator was temporarily out of order. We appreciated such good service and nice updated accommodations!

Perfect Place, Don't wait if you're considering staying here.
Michael was an excellent host, took care of everything we needed. The place was exactly as described. It is nice that it is at the end of the island and in a gated community. It is still remarkably close to all the restaurants and bars. Do not wait if you are considering staying here.

The location was great! the only downside was it is an older unit and the furniture is old and well worn, not inviting. The commode wasn't stable, broken tiles in the kitchen, dirty air filters and vents. This was a last minute trip for us so it worked fine and the weather was in the low to mid 70s so we had the windows open and could hear and see the ocean - lived on the screened in porch when we were there. The kitchen is fine, nice appliances and well stocked other than they need pot holders.

Avoid this unit and Beachside Vacations
Reading some of the comments, I knew that the unit was older and wasn't perfect. Upon arrival, it was reasonably clean and located next to a nice beach. However, as someone had noted in the comments on VRBO, this unit was lacking in maintenance. There is a broken tile in the kitchen that from previous reviews is over five years old. Faded artwork on the walls. Chair in the bedroom looks as if someone had grabbed it out of a rummage sale. The fan blades in the bedroom are drooping at a severe angle and the screws are loose to those blades. Vents are dirty. And the main door was entirely too difficult to open and close, especially for my wife and daughter. It appears that the owners are putting in the least amount of maintenance as possible. Two stars at best. I don't know where Beachside Vacations gets all of those four and five star reviews... guessing that they probably won't publish this review.
And speaking of Beachside Vacations, I was very disappointed in them. On the Friday of our stay, we returned to the unit around 4:30 p.m. and the thermostat was reading around 84 degrees even though it was set at 76. Probably near 90 in the bedroom and the living room areas. Played around with the thermostat and the A/C unit was dead. Immediately called Beachside and got an answering machine. Left a message. Also immediately sent a text message too. Went to dinner and returned around 9:30. No call backs. Called their number again and got an answering service whom asked way too many questions. Did get a call from the management company shortly thereafter. They didn't have any knowledge of my previous call or text message, but, would contact the A/C person.
I noticed that the thermostat was loose on the wall. I moved it around a little and also switched through the modes. out of nowhere, the A/C started and ran for about 20 minutes and quit. Played with it some more and it ran for 40 minutes before quitting. Then got it started again. It was late and we didn't want to pack up to go somewhere else. So we suffered out the night.
Around noon a maintenance person arrived unannounced. Said that they had had problems with the drain in the past and he thought it was that. However, he couldn't fix it and an A/C person would be by. The A/C person never showed up and we never heard another peep from the management company. Luckily, we weren't staying long, otherwise, we would have packed up and left. In my opinion, I don't recommend this unit or renting anything

Just OK
We have stayed at Port O Call before and really enjoyed our stay. This was our first time in this particular unit and we would not stay here again.
On arrival, the room was visibly dirty. The upstairs futon was stained and had visible dirt or dust on it. The portable stand up fan in the loft was absolutely disgusting. The linens on the master bed were visibly soiled. The trundle bed was also visibly dirty. Additionally, on arrival to our unit there were no sheets for the trundle beds. I did some laundry and vacuumed and called the property management company who did send over some sheets but no offer to reclean. The next day I had to call for an exterminator due to ants. The exterminator did arrive same day with ant traps.
Additionally, the upstairs is HOT. I suspect this is likely due to the balcony door that doesn’t really close all the way. This makes keeping the unit cool very difficult and essentially renders the loft unusable.
Overall, the unit just needs maintenance and updating - broken tile in the kitchen, poorly latching doors, very poorly stocked kitchen and worn down furniture and linens. The master bed is very uncomfortable.
I will say the unit has a beautiful view. The location of the resort is great. With some maintence and a good, proper cleaning this unit could be great but, as is, I would not recommend.

Return Couple
Without realizing it I booked A304 again and I am glad I did.
Ibooked this unit in Oct. 2018 and was disappointed with the lack of good housekeeping and reported several problems.
When I realized I was again in unit A304 I looked around and discovered everything was in the best of care.
The week was delightful and I will book A304 again. It is comfortable, everything works, and it is clean.

Nice View, Easy access but Beach Erosion was bad and bulldozers outside of room running 24/7.
The place was exactly as shown in pics. Nice Partial view, upper deck nice..
Small, cozy, - porch was nice and opens into master
Bad news: the Beach was undergoing beach reclamation and the bull dozers were going all day and night. w/ their beeping noise. sure would have like to have been told about this before spending this kind of money. ugh! To mgt's credit and owner did work with me on the RATE as a concession for the NOISE FACTO...and I appreciate that... Very nice resort

Overall it was okay, it needs some work.
Besides the lose tile in the kitchen, the window that won’t close and was partially open when we arrived and the air return unit hanging from the ceiling due to a missing fastener I guess it was not too bad. Overall it needs some work, some good TLC.
I was surprised to find the complex was under construction which started every morning at 7:45am throughout our entire stay. So from 7:45am to 4:00pm it was sawing, hammering, hammer drills and table saws. I was never notified of this activity prior to and after booking this location. I asked the travel agency to move me to a different location to no avail. They never responded to my request and never returned my initial call. I did find they reimbursed me a very small portion of my rental fee. It would’ve been nice to have had a nap or to sleep in.
The good part was it has great views and once construction left for the day it was actually peaceful.

Best Port O Call property
This was our 3rd vacation in a Port O Call property and by far the best. The unit was equipped with everything we needed! Beachside Vacations, the property manager, did an outstanding job to ensure all went well. Best vacation we have had in a while. Love the views of the ocean from the screened porch and balconey. Very comfortable condo! The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals, not a mix match of dishes, glassware and cookware as we have experienced before. Looking forward to our next visit!

Nice Place for Beach Stay - Decor Unexciting & HVAC Issues
Well we chose this Condo for its location close to Patriots Point and Beach Views...The Decor is 'Bland / Dated' but who cares because its really all about the Beach at this location...It would have been better if the Living Room Decor was a bit more current and the Dining Area some other color than Blue...We had issues with the HVAC system: (1) Not Cooling and (2) No Air Output in Bedroom & Foria vents...Reported problem - the Cooling Problem was corrected but the problem with the Bedroom & Foria Vent were not... I suspect there are some serious issues causing this problem and really need attention...So all in all, it was a good place to say but a 'bit boring' and issues with HVAC that were not totally resolved.
