The Alexander

Recent guest reviews

The Alexander remains one of the better hotels downtown Indy, and so the first hotel I look at for the area. The facitilites are fresh and the rooms are always comfortable and clean. Added benefit is the bar which is world class in terms of cocktail craft - the bartenders could easily compete with the best on either coast. It's also helpful that the hotel complex sports a full bfast place (Yolk), a great restaurant (Cerulean) and across the street from a huge new 3story gym. Typically spend a lot of time working in hotel so these are super convient and help a ton.

We contacted the guest services about an issue on our floor during our stay and they were less than helpful at addressing the problem. They in fact told us that they "had other things they were dealing with at the moment," which under the given circumstances, was unacceptable. Other than that one incident, it was a great hotel: clean/modern atmosphere, good location, nice/comfortable rooms.

The lobby was decorated beautifully! The room was spacious and absolutely beautiful and the bathroom not only had a bathtub but also a large shower! We loved the hotel and especially the room.

Thins wall but very nice hotel the hotel staff was great and very helpful

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is beautiful and unique in its decor.

430 am sounded like a herd of elephants on the floor above us...

Very accommodating staff. Rooms were very inviting and comfortable.

Came to town for a Pacers game and this hotel was great. It's close to the the arena but on the southeast side, so it's a few blocks off the "beaten path" of restaurants and hot spots that you may want to check out before or after the game. If you want breakfast in the morning and miss the buffet at the hotel restaurant, Yolk is located inside the same building and it's superb for breakfast or lunch! Overall it's a really nice, clean, upscale, beautiful new hotel and we will definitely come back!

Artwork displayed throughout building, guests are encouraged to roam around all floor lobbies. Extremely clean and comfortable. Very close to downtown venues.

Hotel was in a great location walking distance to arena.

We really enjoyed our evening at the hotel. The bar was a great place to hang out and the cocktails were amazing. We particularly enjoyed the popcorn that was served! Our room was very nice, lots of great amenities. However, we really did not like the pillows!! They were small and square, rather than a normal sized pillow. In the morning, when we all woke up, we all had very sore necks from constantly rolling off the pillows!! The robes in the rooms are a bit tacky. They look cheap and used. We called down to the front desk for more coffee supplies (there were 4 of us, but only 2 mugs) but were not brought the items. We had to ask again very late at night as we went back to the room. The bellman brought the items up, but we realized too late it was all decaf! Other than those few items, all was great!

Gorgeous room, lovely staff, great in room facilities. Bar was nice as well

Great hotel! The initial check-in was tough as the lock to our room was broken. They were so great about it and gave us free breakfast in return. Great location, food and vibe!!!

This hotel is a very trendy looking place blocks from Indy nightlife. There is cool art everywhere around the property and feels like the place would cost several hundred more per night if it was in LA or NY. Comfortable accommodations and a friendly staff

Not just a hotel, an experience! An artistic hotel in an artsy community. This is the crown jewel of Indianappolis. The staff will work to make sure your experience is top notch.

Hotel is beautiful, staff was on top of anything you asked. only downside is its on the outskirts of downtown but only a 10 min walk to the heart of the city.

This hotel could be amazing. We had some issues with the wrong room (which was fixed) and a clogged sink (which was not.). So I can't give it 5 stars but it is a beautiful hotel, architecturally stunning with a gallery if artwork. It is definitely something to be seen! Indianapolis is an artsy place and this hotel is it's crown jewel.

I found the hotel art very interesting and enjoyable. My room was comfortable. However, there was only one robe and with two queen beds I would have expected two robes. I found sitting on the lounger in the room slightly uncomfortable while having conversation with my friend who sat in chair. If I rested my back against the wall, I felt I was too far away from my friend for comfortable conversation. Another chair would have been more conducive to our chatting..The view from the room and, in fact, from any window we saw was pretty unattactive. The restaurants looked interesting, but we only had small bites in Platt 99. The staff...from desk clerks to room stewards were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

I stayed at the Alexander Hotel when I was in Indianapolis for a business trip. It was so convenient that I could walk to both the company I was visiting and to downtown restaurants. It is also ideal if you are in town to see the Colts or Pacers play. The hotel is modern and well-staffed, although it wouldn't be considered sumptuous. A great touch was the free breakfast buffet that was ideal for me to catch a light breakfast before I left for the day. While I didn't eat at the Cerulean Restaurant on this visit, in the past I have had some wonderful dinners there. They offer a creative menu using fresh, local products and a great wine list. I especially recommend going there for lunch.

Was a great stay with a great bar and lobby but needs a sweet pool!
