Property is disgusting. Paid for a "premium" room and got a room literally in a basement. Lights did not work when I walked in. Used cell phone light to see where I was going, immediately found smashed food and bugs on the floor. Dogs constantly barking in adjacent units. Chunk of wood wedged in sliding window as a makeshift lock. Complained immediately to clerk, she said these issues "weren't their fault" and refused to cancel my stay. Claimed she did not have permission to offer refunds. Took my room key but refused to give me any paperwork. Called manager who came in and said "I don't need any paperwork because they have cameras". Had Expedia call to authorize a cancellation of my booking (which I had made only three hours prior) but they refused to grant it. Explained I would need to file incident report with the police if they refused to give me proper documentation of my transaction. They didn't care. Police were unable to convince owner to issue the refund or to even write acknowledgement that I wasn't staying there. Expedia told me they normally cannot issue refund in this scenario except for how rude and unreasonable the operator was when they spoke, so I got a 100% refund but I was lucky to get it. DO NOT STAY HERE unless saving $10 is your only way to survive and you are willing to have very, very low standards. You are 100% GUARANTEED to be disappointed and this operator will give you NOTHING back once you book. You've been warned.

The good the bad and the ugly

The good: room was clean, front desk staff was accommodating and helpful with our two extended days, were friendly, and made sure to let us park under cameras. Room was also clean, though a little barren. Housekeeping gave us clean towels but insisted we give them the dirty ones immediately— odd but an easy fix. The bad: you could hear every step in the hallway. the lock on the door looked like it was caved in, the caulk around all the bathroom appliances were brown, and when you hit the switch by the door It turned everything in the room off not on (and that includes the tv and bedside lamps). One morning we came down to the front desk attendant either watching porn or looking at graphic photos, not really wanting to figure out which. The ugly— some lady was screaming for help in the hallway and the front desk did nothing about it that we are aware of. She started with regular screams and devolved into help me screams. Since we were traveling it was best to stay locked in our room but we tried to call the desk but the phone wouldn’t work.

NEVER USE RED ROOF INN!!! Or Hotels.com

I was 45 minutes when I was called that my 80 year old mother was rushed to the hospital with a broken hip. I called the hotel and told them I would be back as soon as I had her dealt as I was there for business and will be coming in for several days a month. I was informed that they wouldn’t charge me for the room but that hotels.com MIGHT and that they have no control over hotels.com but they wouldn’t charge me. Well I call hotels.com and they said they had nothing to do with it and that they would reach out to Red Roof and call me back. Well I know this will shock you no one ever called me back AND guess who was charged. Very disappointed in BOTH companies. The lack of customer service and compassion these days is amazing. I hope someday they go through what I have AND that they get treated the same way.

Awful experience

No internet, no phone, no working TV. No one at the front desk, on multiple occasions. The national customer service phone line had no desire to change or do anything to make the situation better. I saw cockroaches. The showerhead was so low I could rest my head on it. It's a pretty sketchy location.

I reserved the room for four days (Thur, Fri, Sat, and Sun) checking out on Monday morning. Upon our arrival /Checkin we received our room key and was directed to our room. Housekeeping was just finishing up and leaving the room when we got to the door. The toilet had just been flushed and was not filling. I informed them of the issue, which they responded with its filling, just very slow. That was an understatement, 15 to 20 minutes before it could be flushed again, not ideal conditions considering there were three people staying there. WiFi worked the first night only, reported that to the desk on Friday, but nothing was fixed before we left on Monday. Even though we were charged and paid for the four nights at Checkin, they only activated the room key for two nights, so when we returned on Saturday evening, we could not get in the room. The front desk apologized to my wife for the error and activated the key for one additional night. I had to return to the front desk and request that the key be activated for the additional night. Clerk initially stated that we only staying for three nights. After I insisted that he pull up my invoice, he agreed that we were staying four nights and updated the room key. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be staying there again.

This is my first time staying at a Red Roof Hotel and the staff at the front desk was professional and friendly however the property surprised when I realized there was no elevator, I am not sure if this is all of red roof inn. When I got to the room, the bathroom appeared to be dirty like you can see urine stains on the toilet bowl, soap dispensers did not work. There were a lot of noise at night and also early in the morning housekeeping staff were so loud that it woke me up whatever little sleep. I tried to get some rest as much as I could to get a heads up for a long drive.
