Room was very nice, comfortable, quiet, clean and reasonable. Free breakfast is a plus, and was very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Close to Huntsville and lots of restaurants. I work in the area sometimes and will definitely be back.
We booked through Priceline, so didn't pick this place on purpose. If I had seen it, I wouldn't have stopped, but it was paid for so we stayed even though it was in a very sketchy location. When we checked in, the front desk clerk saw that there were two of us, my daughter and myself. We got to the room and there was just one bed. I called to see about changing rooms and he said that we couldn't because this is what I asked for on Priceline. Not true - I specifically indicated that there would be two people. Pros: The bed linens were clean and smelled fresh. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Cons: Breakfast was not great, but there were lots of options. LOTS of outside noise from other guests hanging on the stairway. The ice machine didn't work, which was unfortunate because I had food in a cooler.
I try to be optimistic when I check-in to a lower-priced hotel, but sometimes the price sums it up - there is a reason it's cheaper than the competition. The good: The beds are comfortable and appear to be clean. I don't get the 4 small pillows Vs the standard 2, but it's their thing. There is a desk, dresser, and fridge/microwave crammed against one wall and a chair in the corner. The shower & sink area are clean enough but could be scrubbed a little better. The bad: It's filled with construction workers and the nightly BBQ & beer drinking can get loud and frustrating. That noise reappears at 5am as the first wave returns to their trucks. The 2nd wave starts at 6AM when the dining area opens. The bad: This price range brings all kinds. At 1:30AM I was greeted to a full volume, window-shaking rap-playing car. When the 2 occupants exited, it was 10 minutes of profanity laced conversation on the about how he should get his "stuff" and go spend the night (profanity) his "other woman that starts with W". He left with the music blasting only to return for round two a half hour later. The bad: The breakfast is not worth the effort. Biscuits & gravy, rehydrated scrambled eggs, and small sampling of pastry products. If you're lucky enough to actually get warm eggs, you'll find them spongy and tasteless. Hot water & microwave tends to so that. The OJ had a smell of reclaimed toilet water. Summary: There are better hotels within walking distance in the same price range.
Clean, up to date, nice pool, quiet motel at a reasonable price. Huntsville isn't all that big, so nothing is much more than ten or fifteen minutes away from here. Plenty of dining options, gas, Wal Mart, etc nearby, and the highway is two minutes away. A solid choice for the budget minded.
Wonderful staff who were very helpful since we were staying two nights but used Choice points for one. The food for breakfast is okay. The room was good but they definitely need to work on the outside of every building. it looks very old and not very inviting.
First of all, the people there were very nice and tried to be helpful. Our A/C unit no longer had print on it so I couldn't see what button to push. A gentleman came and labeled it all for me after I tried pushing several and not finding what I needed to cool the room. Even after I knew what buttons to push, it took awhile to cool off the room. I requested a wake up call that we never got. Second time this has happened in a Quality Inn on this trip. The room looked a little rough. There were stains on the granite in the bath area, and also on the strip between that area and the bathroom itself. My main objection was the shower ceiling. It was not clean, and it had pieces coming down. It had also been patched in a large area and it looked like it was sinking again. Also, the plastic strip between the tub and the floor was falling off. The walls were marred and could have used a wiping. The furniture in the room was fine and it was clean, nothing dusty. The rug was clean. The beds were very comfortable. I didn't think this property was up to Quality standards. It's too bad that more care wasn't taken with the cosmetics in the room we had.
I was nervous about staying here after reading some reviews but was in town for a conference and didn't want to spend too much on lodging. The Quality Inn was the perfect choice. It's right next to the highway so I was in downtown Huntsville in less than 15 minutes. The staff was excellent. I arrived after midnight and the moment the gentleman at check-in saw me at the window, he practically ran to get me into my room. Compare this to the other hotel just down the parking lot, where I waited 15 minutes before being told I was in the wrong place. The rooms were tidied every day, and when I left I forgot earrings by mistake that the staff not only retrieved but mailed back to me. I missed breakfast one day and they were so apologetic, when it was my fault for being 30 minutes late. The accommodations are 2 star but comfortable enough and clean, and the service is 5 stars. I never for a second felt unsafe here as a solo female traveler in her 20s and saw no loitering or danger in the parking lot at night. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Our granddaughter missed getting on her bus ride to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL this year, so grandparents to the rescue. She'd be staying on the base, so we needed to find something reasonably priced that wasn't too far away. Actually, this hotel is close to Huntsville International Airport, but it's a straight shot to Space Camp on I-565 from there. The property is clean; the room was nice, the internet was fine and the breakfast in the morning was included. This meant scrambled eggs plus biscuits and gravy. There were other hot choices too like oatmeal or grits, but it was good enough to keep us from venturing over to IHOP or somewhere that costs extra. The bed was clean and comfortable. No complaints. No distracting noise outside. Just a nice comfortable room located not too far from all sorts of other eating places. If we have to take our grandson to Space Camp next year, we'll stay there again.
My previous experience here was good but now this place is just your typical poorly run Indian owned hotel. The tub is sinking and shower walls are worn. Staff attitude is bad and they threaten to call police if you run late checking out. Could be why all the guests now are rough looking. If you treat people like inmates then you will attract those who are accustomed to that treatment.
I was in town for work. It cost more than I would usually spend for just one night in town for business, but they had a promotion for the season. The staff was friendly and the check in was easy and quick.
