touring with 20 people, retracing TET '68... with five Vietnam Veterans. This property runs along the waterfront of the river... Bar service and bar area spills out to a deck.. regrettably, a few showers the nights we were there... great wait staff...wine selection is fair..its a midrange city in Vietnam.. set your expectations accordingly. plenty of Vietnamese beer rooms were spacious.. clean.. toiletries in bathrooms... large bathrooms and walk in showers... working safes.. good WIFI... Its a local favorite for wedding receptions...we observed the festivities of a wedding during our two night stay... restaurant has more than enough seating for buffet style breakfast.. an omelet bar, fresh fruit, Vietnamese selections also... pastries, danish... great drop off area ... large circular driveway off the street... walk up the street to the DMZ Bar & Grill... and enjoy the waterfront where you'll find a paved path...not a busy waterfront.. small fishing boats, and "canoes" with women ferrying their goods to marketplaces... the spa is "walk in" and several of us had massages...we'd been traveling for 7 days and had another week to go.. great service, much less expensive than in the mid Atlantic... I think the front desk has concierge service...

Really lovely hotel on the banks of the perfume river ideally situated for boat trips. Really friendly and helpful staff and the hotel provides a very good breakfast. Plenty of good shopping and bars nearby but there is a noisy disco operating until the early hours across the road. Try to get a room overlooking the river at the rear.

Stayed here for one night, the room is standard, really not much to write home about. The view however is where the points for this place come from. It's right on the river so the view is really nice and there's a good breeze. The service is okay, and the breakfast falls in the same category. You get a mix of North American and Vietnamese dishes including bun Bo Hue. I think the place could use a refresh and new paint job.

Stayed 2 nights here was ok but a very tired hotel and in desperate need of Reno’s especially carpets need to be replaced urgently as I was not keen on walking on them in bare feet, breakfast was ok but on 2nd day we need to use the upstairs breakfast area and toaster was terrible waited that long and bread was stale that they used and bacon not in Bain Marie so cold, worse part was the massage place we got a leg and foot massage girls did not utter a single word the whole way through but straight after said tip which I felt obligated to give but wish I hadn’t Very rude girls also happy hour is 20% off drinks not like every where else where buy one get one free On a positive our friend lost here phone and the staff then could not be any more accommodating were very impressed with this service

This hotel is in the heart of downtown. Tons of "to-do's" within walking distance. However, if you need your night's rest: ask for a room away from the front court yard. There is an electronic store directly across the road. Loud, really loud, female voice diatribe starts from that location at 8:30 AM until 9:45 PM. We were in rooms 308, 310. Hotel management said they were negotiating for silence. So make sure that's done before you book rooms at the front.

I’ve just left this place and i paid US $60 per night for 2 with breakfast incl. spectacular views of the perfume river. They don’t try to rip you off with mini bar prices either. To top it off the wifi was also pretty good. Would highly recommend if you’re staying in Hue.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Travel agent confirmed to get room with big bed but we got 2 beds combined upon check in. It was not comfortable for couple. The breakfast was ok, the service was ok however the amenities were way too old. Please see the picture attached to see the dirty curtain and I dont know why they did not change it or even wash it. The only thing I like this hotel was its centre location.

I have been at this hotel since lunch time and it is now 6.00pm. The hotel is situated well back from the road. Across the road is an electrical retail store that has loud speakers facing the hotel and blaring constant advertising of products across the road and into my room. I cannot escape the sound inside my room it is louder than the TV. This shop is not closing until 8.00pm which is when the noise is likely to stop. I will complaint to the manager about the noise. If you want a quiet stay in Hue this is not the hotel for you. Do not stay here until the noise is stopped.

Stayed here two nights on Gate 1 tour. Large room with king sized bed, a bit too hard for me but that is usual, I have found. Great location. Good water pressure in bath. They provide face cloths which many places do not. included breakfast is expansive but more like lunch with rice, veggies, meats, not what a western appetite craves at 6 a.m. Many things not hot ( although supposed to be), including the coffee! Such a disappointment first thing in morning. Street noise at night. Next door to a cultural center which featured rhythmic pounding of drums much of evening.

The Huong Giang Hotel is at a good central location - there are lots of restaurants nearby. I think it probably was a pretty special hotel back in the day. The hotel is at the lower end of a traditional 3 star hotel, but fine. The rooms are large and clean. They have a desk, safe, tea kettle, hair dryer, flip flops, pre-stocked small refrigerator (with no room for additional items), and the tiniest bars of soap I have ever seen. Each room has a small deck (standing room only). The television has some English speaking channels (CNN, HBO, MAX, Discovery and National Geographic). The elevator service is good. The front desk is efficient. The exchange rate is fair if you choose to exchange money (also probably safer). Breakfast is served in the main building on the 3rd floor, overlooking the Perfume River. It's spacious, clean and well serviced. There's an omelette and soup bar (easy to miss - look for it towards the rear of the room), various hot and cold dishes (cereal, fresh fruit, breads/pastries (they could be better), hard boiled eggs, etc. Not exciting, but fine. I had a delicious chicken stew for breakfast. The restaurant staff, and actually the entire Huong Huang staff is helpful, friendly and anxious to please.
