Stayed here with husband and friends after two city breaks in Singapore and Bangkok. Chose the hotel based on reviews and we weren't let down. Lovely beach side location. Lovely open design...very different to most hotels. Nice room with large balcony. Pools were nice....with shade thankfully. Ate a meal at the Coast restaurant on the Reef and Beef night...very good selection of food. The hotel worked with my husband to give me a 60th birthday treat.....champagne breakfast with a table beautifully dressed. Lovely birthday cake for us to share in the Museum tearoom...well worth a visit...lovely choice of cakes ...yum. I liked the hotel very much and would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Hua Hin. Nice low level design.. Better than the Hilton next door. Husband used the gym for free...he said the equipment was good.
An excellent hotel perfectly situated in the centre of town. Wonderful attentive staff. Breakfast excellent and evening meals in the hotel Coast restaurant also of top quality. Obviously they charge 5 star prices, but you get what you pay for. Hotel's location is excellent for the many local restaurants just outside. We stayed 7 nights and ate out 5 times. There is a great local café for lunch on the corner of the crossroads - went there most days for lunch but can't remember the name. Turn right out of the hotel and it is opposite Hagi.
We stayed for a week to celebrate our anniversary. Did 3 times massages and Spa treatments and had 4 times meals in Coast and Hagi. Nothing to complain just simply perfect! Regarding to the facilities, not only have they fitness room, but also you can play mini golf, table tennis and even badminton with high quality rackets. We were planning to eat outside to save some money , but turned out the last 2 days we sticked to the restaurants because of the attractive offers and delicious food.
We stayed here on a recent golf trip and found the most relaxing hotel equipped with everything you will ever need. The gardens are sublime and the service was exceptional. Family, Friends or alone this is the choice with and old fashioned style
I have just spent a lovely week at the Centara, and simply can not fault it. I have stayed at a Centara before, so I knew the grounds would be excellent, but the level of service really exceeded my expectations. We stayed in a villa, which was spotless, and the man who cleaned each day was excellent, I wish I knew his name, as he deserves a mention for his attention to detail. On our package we had breakfast, mid morning snacks, afternoon tea and early evening canapés! During the canapés there is a 2 hour slot with complimentary drinks too, including prosecco and nice wine, all of which were great! The restaurant staff were truly excellent. It was my partners 50th birthday, and they really made an effort, but in a dignified way! The hotel gardens are STUNNING! Lovely to walk around, and beautifully maintained. The pools have a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and never crowded. The staff immediately bring you a towel when you sit on a sunbed, which is helpful. The town centre is a short walk, and the Centara guards literally stop the traffic so guests can cross the road. It is a big complex, so can be quiet and tranquil, or busy if you seek the other people, it really has the best of both. Our villa was literally a minute to the beach, so again best of both worlds!
Always wanted to stay here and now I have!!! BRILLIANT!!! Been coming to Hua Hin for thirteen years and the last two weeks at this hotel were the best!! Great food, staff, rooms, ambience etc. Definitely staying from now on, no other hotel will suffice!
Booked to celebrate my 50th birthday we were looking forward to returning to the hotel. This time we booked a villa with its own private pool in an area set away from the main hotel with a large and quiet pool for use by the villas only. The villa was stunning, a separate lounge, a large bedroom and bathroom with shower and freestanding bath, a separate toilet and shower room outside, plenty of seating, a day bed and a small pool. Luxury! Club facilities include breakfast by the pool and snacks at the main lounge in the hotel throughout the day, you really shouldn't miss afternoon tea! Evening canapés and free flow drinks including fizz for an hour and a half sets you up for a leisurely stroll into town. Impeccable service and as good if not better than our last visit. Loved it, thoroughly spoilt on my special birthday!
We, a couple and two and a half-year-old toddler, has just arrived back from Centara Hua Hin. We are lucky enough to have been to Hua Hin many times, staying in many 4-5 star hotels for both work and leisure. We have to say that Centara ranks top 3 of our list of best hotels in Hua-Hin As many reviewers have pointed out the hotel has a nice vintage charm to it. The location couldn't be better, occupying the pristine section of Hua Hin beach (another also beautiful section is around Intercontinental and Hyatt Regency Hotels) but it has the benefit of being within a walking distance to the town centre. And for that you have access to local shops, minimarts, pharmacies, night markets, spas etc. Accommodation option-We opted for Junior Suite. The room is large and the balcony is huge. It is located in the garden wing, above a beautiful and well maintained-garden. Bed is comfortable. Air-con is great. Room keeping is good. If there is one thing to improve, the shower can be better as we think the hot-cold temperature isn't always reliable. House keeping- very good. It was our wedding anniversary and some extras like complimentary flower decoration and an anniversary cake were nice touches. Club benefits- as expected. Better than many hotels but not the best we have encountered. Now one hiccup that need to be mentioned. During breakfast at the last morning of our stay, we came for an early breakfast and not all the sections of the club were ready. Fully realized that we are with a toddler, we usually pick a table away from other guests (esp. the couples). But as only one section was opened, we had no options. The toddler was fine, happy and well-behaved for quite a long while until it started to get late. We decided to finish up, ready to leave. But just as happened, the waiter came round and talk to me in Thai which could be translated as 'what's happening with him' (น้องเป็นอะไรครับ). Then before we could do anything he said (not asked) 'take the seats inside because it is disturbing other guests ' (เข้าไปนั่งข้างในนะครับ กลัวจะรบกวนแขกท่านอื่น). We were stunned but moved as told. To be honest this is the first time we are told so bluntly and we didn't know what to do next. When we talked about it later, we thought that there are many polite ways to say or act. But this could be due to just one off. Apart from that everything is good and the stay is (almost) perfect!
This was our sixth stay in Hua Hin and fifth time at Centara. The property is just fabulous - exceptional grounds and pools. Geographically, it is very central and you can walk to any shopping or eating venue quite easily, and there are plenty in the vibrant Hua Hin township. Staff were fantastic as always and nothing was too difficult for them. Breakfast one of the best we have experienced. Will definitely be back again next year.
My wife and I and a couple of friends stayed for nearly two weeks. We took the half board option - we were in duluxe rooms but no "Club facilities" and as it was a first visit to Hua Hin we were not sure of the eating out possibilities. There is actually such a long list of observations and positives that I'll do just that, list them:- 1) The transfer gives you little change out of 3 hours and 6500 baht, we booked the hotel transfer using a people carrier for 4 (hence 6500 each way) which was provided by the hotel with a hotel driver in air conditioning comfort. Pre-arranged taxis would be consderably cheaper and probably just as reliable, but as first time Bangkok travellers, we wanted our hotel to be responsibible for getting us to them from the airport. 2) Check-in can be quite confusing, the hotel wanted a 20,000 plus Baht deposit on our room which at first we did not agree to so could not sign for things against our room and for a day paid for all drinks on a debit card straight to our bank account, which we found inconvenient and unsatisfactory. This was sorted out and a credit card impression of 20,000 baht was taken, to be refunded upon not spedning that amount, however subject to you spending that money the hotel gave an additional 7,000 baht free spending money. Not only did we use this but doubled up and had 14,000 free spending money acorss the two rooms we had occupied. (counts against drinks and spa and food etc but not Golf and Tours etc) 3) All Half Board meals were across 4 restaurants - Railway (main, marginally more formal), Coast (Mediterranian-ish - ie anything from pizza/pasta, fresh fish, burgers, wraps and salads), Hagi (excellent, up-market Japanese) and Suan (Thai restaurant). There were NO hidden supplemtments to our food bill, a la carte portions were of high quality and quantity, some finest luxury ingredients were found eg Wagyu beef, crab and other shell fish. Customers do not go hungry or disappointed on half board. No drinks were included, and for example, a large bottle of Evian was £5, so maybe visit the local Tesco and stock up for your room. The Hotel did provide free bottled water to the rooms which, being fussy, we used to clean our teeth of make tea or coffee (using provided kettle etc) The stand out evening was actually via that dreaded half board word "buffet" (I always think of half board as rubbish buffets or a series of set menus with supplements) but at The Japanese Hagi wht we experienced couldn't have been more different: There was sushimi, sushi, nagiri etc pre prepared in the 'cold' food room; then teppanyaki, tempura, mixed noodles and cooked meats from the 'hot' bar. The atmosphere was rockin' in this restaurant and we could see why! In room dining was extensive and to suit all tastes (including vegetarians, my wife is a no meat no fish gal and no problems here!) although we coped just fine with the breakfast and dinners provided on half board. Should you be a Hua Hin/Ch-Am veteran then no doubt eating out offers a diversity and excitement of choice - Next time!! 4) The spa was excellent and my wife and her friend made extensive use, pricing somewhere below expectation for a British country house hotel spa. The pools (three large pools) allowed the occupants of the hotel to spread out, none got too busy as a result. Plenty of attendants on hand - the drinks buzzer and happy hour by the Coast bar proved very popular as were the attendants kept busy orangising beds along with supplies of drinks. The hotel has extensive and beautiful manicured gardens - In October the result was that the staff may have found it a slight challenge to keep the pools completely clear of leaves etc at all times but hey they did a fair job. 5) A tour desk in the shop at the hotel near the lobby offered a variety of tour options, I would have personally liked a day in Bangkok but this was not convenient during our stay so we did the local Hua Hin guided tour: This took in the fish, fruit and veg market that the locals use to buy their food (early hustle bustle and fascinating), monkey mountain, the Temple of Love and Hope, Hua Hin Railway Station (historical as king used to visit and had his own waiting room) and a meal for light lunch in a cafe called La Baguette included. This tour was guided by Mimi of Western Tours plus a driver in a people carrier prvided a private tour for our group of four (1600 baht PP plus tip afterwards). 6) Golf company Asian Golf are on site and take care of all golf tee time bookings, your clubs are stored at the hotel rather than at the courses and taken out each day you play. The fees during our stay were 1800baht for Black Mountain (low to mid handicapper) plus 750 baht for buggy per person and 350 baht for the caddy, the latter was obligatory - 240 young woman caddies at Black Mounatin, all in uniform and they operate on a rota, sooo busy that each gets a game every day. You should tip the caddy on top 400+baht. Banyan Tree (Mid Handicapper would enjoy this course more) was more expensive at 3000baht per round per person (only in rainy October as Black Mountain goes up to 3600baht in November, buggies could not go on the fairways as the course drained poorly fromt he overnight downpours.) Same set up at Banyan Tree in that it is 750 baht for buggy and 350baht for female caddy then 400+ baht for tip. Again Asian Golf take care of everything including transfers (no extra cost foo 25 minute rides to and from courses) and they proved to be reliable. 7) Night market - Piccadilly circus and fun for souvenir shopping, walking distance around the corner from the hotel, felt safe going around there and getting there and back was straight-forward. Cicada Market - worth a visit 150 baht for a tuk-tuk there and back, remember to hold on tight, these vehicles were fun if not UK health and safety standards but recommended nonetheless. 8) Elephant Bar for an evening drink: rarely busy, gentle live entertainment (singer and piano) this a pleasant colonial looking gentleman's club feel but updated to modern times - like the whole hotel really. 9) Breakfast: Buffet in railway restaurant - anything for all international tastes, reminded me of the best I've had in the Caribbean, which is my main reference point for tropical holiday dining (west coast Barbados to be more precise). 10) Wifi: Strong signal throughout the hotel, including the grounds and all pools areas, but paid the equivalent of £35 for two weeks for the privilege to cover 5 devices between myself and my wife. Data roaming remains expensive and quite frankly was useless trying to use internet or apps on phone away from the hotel on "4G Roaming" Overall a lasting positive impression and would recommend without hesitation, as a group, we are very likely to return. Recommended equally for couples, small groups, medium size corporate incentives and young families.
