This is a gem, beautiful boutique hotel set on a fabulous beach. The rooms are all so tasteful as is the whole hotel, a beautiful colour palette throughout. The lobby's are full of little cosy sitting areas, open to the outside and the breakfasts were fantastic as well as being served on lovely outdoor terraces overlooking the sea. The pool area was very nice as well but we took to staying on the beach on the hotel beds that were available to guest and well attended by the staff for ordering fresh towels and food and drinks. There are a few beach sellers that drift by but they had purple bibs on and you felt that they had to be licensed and thereby the numbers controlled, they weren't a nuisance and were actually very friendly and didn't bother you unless you were interested in their goods. Right next to the hotel beds were wonderful beach massages which were cheap and good and very relaxing to do. Apart from breakfast we only ate lunch at the hotel which was very good, offering Thai and European cuisine, beautifully cooked and presented and reasonably priced. Had we stayed longer than three nights we definitely would have had dinner as the beach side setting is delightful. On top of all this the hotel offers free shuttle transfers to the shopping areas and night life of Hua Hin which is very close indeed but far away enough for you to feel as though you are away from the busy and more commercial and busy side of town. Perfect to dip in and out of as you like from this location. A taxi and tuk tuk ride to bring you back is very cheap. So just to cap off this review, this is a beautiful hotel, great food and service and the setting is fantastic, a long stretch of unspoilt and an unbusy beach, safe swimming and a few little beach side Thai style quiet bars that only looked to operate during the day if you fancied a change of view but not wonder to far from home!

The room I stayed it was very nice with a great pool view. Staff as always was friendly and very helpful. If you need anything, the front desk will do their best to accommodate you. The room was clean and everything was in good working order. The WiFi is good and is all over the property and even reaches to the beach. The small but well equipped gym is a great way to burn off some of the carbs that you may have gotten from the excellent restaurant. It is always sad to leave because the staff is like family after two months. Looking forward to trying the new pool villas next year when we return.

Another fantastic stay at this hotel. All the staff have been brilliant, helping to make our holiday as special as possible. Breakfast and dining have been a very good standard with the service just as good. Couldn’t recommend this any more. Great for families. See you next year!!

Returned this year for 7 days. Great beach, quiet area of Hua Hin. Staff are lovely and well trained. The restaurant is excellent but quite expensive, approaches USA prices for dinners. There are other restaurants in the area that you can walk to or take the hotel shuttle into Hua Hin proper.

If you visit Thailand and want to avoid the crowded beaches and hoarded of tourists, you must go to Hua Hin, and if you go to Hua Hin, do yourself a huge favor and book a pool villa at Anantasila by the Sea! We are just spending our last if 6 nights with friends and none of us wants to leave! The villas are perfect for two couples as both bedrooms have en suite baths, large living room, efficiency kitchenette and a wonderful private pool (in addition to the huge main pool). We have loved every minute of our stay. Manager Bruce, assistant manager Joy and all of the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. You seriously don't need to go anywhere else once here. The food is amazing and varied, the beach beautiful and you can even get beachside massages at unbelievable prices (my husband is there now for his 3rd or 4th massage of our stay!). I have never felt so relaxed after a stay as I have here!

We stayed here for 10 days, travelling with our son and daughter in law and 18 month old granddaughter. The staff were amazing and really made us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We had a pool view room which was large with 2 beds and the fridge with complementary soft drinks and water was a lovely touch. Our son and family were in a one bedroom apartment in the annexe. This was extremely spacious and exactly what they needed with a young baby. The annexe was literally a couple of minutes from the main hotel and quieter for the baby. The apartment had everything, including a full sized fridge freezer and microwave. We used the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Hua Hin a few times and this is a brilliant service. We ate in the restaurant and also the beach bar and the food is lovely. The nightly entertainment is also a relaxing way to end the day. The location on the beach is wonderful and though not the best beach in Thailand it is a great place to spend the day. The hotel had free sun beds on the beach with parasols so again very well provided for. Our granddaughter had a fantastic time and this was helped by the kind and friendly staff who always made time for her. She would happily collect the petals and leaves that had fallen and give them to the staff. For me despite the lovely swimming pool, well tended gardens, fantastic rooms and lovely restaurant the main attraction of the hotel is the wonderful staff team. Every member of staff is an asset to the hotel but specials thanks to the reception team and restaurant staff for being so good with our granddaughter. She arrived in Hua Hin a baby but came back a toddler full of confidence. Bruce the manager is always available should you need him and will always take time to speak to guests. Another mention is for Andy the chef, thank you for the cookies, our granddaughter loved them. When we go back to Hua Hin, this will be our place to stay. For some reason I can't check the ratings for service, rooms and sleep quality, so I shall just say that everything was excellent. The beds are comfy and the pillows are perfect.

Such a nice place. Sweet staff, clean rooms, nice food and the perfect place on the beautiful beach! Daily transport to the city for free. Nothing to complain about! Pool is perfect and beach is clean and staff to make you comfortable.

We stayed a group of 12 - both kids and adults - for 14 days. Every thing was perfect. Big clean rooms. Nice pool. Very sweet and helpful staff. Great food. The hotel is situated right on the beach, and we had free beds on the beach. We have travelled a lot in Thailand. This hotel was probably the best we have tried. We can fully recommend it.

Whenever I've had a chance to get away for a few days over the past many years, Anantasila has always had a magnetic pull. It's always just what the doctor ordered: a beautiful location, comfortable reasonably-priced accommodation, a good pool, and lovely people (including generally well-behaved mainly European but also Chinese, Thai and other Asian guests). This was my first time back since its refurb and upgrade. It's lost none of its original charm while adding exceptional cuisine (the restaurant's pretty much reservations only in the evening which for a hotel is unreal), some redecoration and more professional service, although there was nothing wrong with any of the service, from reservation to laundry etc., before. It's the best option on Khao Takiab which is a beautiful, long stretch of beach. Being near the headland and a long breakwater-cum-landing pier for the Hua Hin-Pattaya ferry, means that the sea is less lively immediately in front of the hotel. Keen sea-bathers troll a bit further south where there is still safe bathing but in clearer water and the beach is less crowded. My frequent travelling visitors from UK and Aus. were also delighted. Special mention for the lavish buffet breakfast that's got everything. Can't wait for my next visit, and the one after that, etc....

Hosted our marriage ceremony and guest were very well catered. Chef did excellent job with Nepalese/Indian food even though it was their first Nepalese marriage. Big rooms with two beds confuses me, but it was good for us as we could adjust 4 people in one.
