My stay was just fine until I woke up in the morning to a bed bug marching across my pillow. I freaked out! I called the front desk and someone came up to take a picture, remove the pillow, etc. This was a big deal to me because those critters like to hitch a ride back home with guests (and there is never only one). Right now my luggage is in at least 2 weeks purgatory in my garage until it is safe to bring the bag into the house. What makes me angry is that when I asked for a refund given the bed bug situation, the woman at the front desk said I could only have a refund if I signed a Release of Liability which included a gag clause saying I could not say anything bad about the hotel. I said no way! People should be warned. Rather than fight with them, I let hotels.com secure me my refund so that I would be free to write this review. This must not be an uncommon occurrence for this hotel because as I was leaving the room they had already positioned a large machine outside my door (a bed bug heater?) to deal with the problem. I am sad I have to leave this review because the staff at the hotel were extremely kind and responsive. The front desk attendant said it was the General Manger who required the waiver to be signed as a condition of a refund.
