It is fascinating to read that there are some poor experiences here. I guess if you are exceptionally picky and entirely uptight then you’re going to find a limited wine selection or a speck of dirt to be worth of giving the place one star. Remarkably unkind, given how great the place is. It does exactly what it says on the tin: all inclusive. You get all your food (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner), all drinks (including alcoholic), watersports (kayaks, snorkelling, pedalos, sailing, stand up paddle boards). You even get a Hershey’s kiss on your pillow every day... Everyone here is happy to serve you. This is not a place where tipping is expected in order to be served a drink or some food: all waiting staff and bar staff are relentlessly pleased to serve you and talk to you. We were delighted at meal times because you would see the same staff again and again who know your names, room numbers, and remember what you had been doing that day or the previous day is would make the effort to find out how you were. We were especially pleased with Shaneal and Joycelyn who we interacted with often and were the happiest and most fun. The beach is perfect. Plenty of loungers, with service from the bar at your seats. Loads of great free watersports, as mentioned above, and a tonne of great paid for options from beach vendors. They’re not pushy at all, and many are happy to make polite conversation - especially Herbie (“I’ve been working this beach since 1981...”) I’d recommend some jet skiing and the Great Big Mabel! The hotel also includes a free catamaran trip, which was excellent and involved us snorkelling with turtles, and a glass bottom boat trip that was similar. Really worth doing. Will definitely be a returning guest if we come back to Barbados.

A lovely hotel offering comfortable accommodation and great food. Breakfast not brilliant but other meals are great. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Offer free boat trips to snorkel with fish and turtles. Good value for money.

I am a well traveled professional surveyor. I have been over the years many all inclusive holidays as they are great if you have a family. This hotel is the worse I have been too. Food very poor, some days we did not eat as the food was poor quality and very limited selection, it reminded me of Butlins in the 70`s. It was impossible to get a hot breakfast, everything was cooked and placed in warmers where it was greasy and cold by the time we eat. Also food was of a very low quality. Drinks very poor selection, we drink wine but there was only one choice of red wine Merlo and one choice of white wine, both poor quality. Rooms. Upon arrive we where taken to a room which was dirty, the air con unit was grey where it hasn`t` been cleaned for ages. However they did change our room which had been recently decorated and OK. I think they are refurbishing the rooms as we speak so this point soon may be resolved. Evening entertainment, very poor, local musicians /singers, only one was good over the 10 days. As a consequence there was no atmosphere. There was no day time entertainment. If my children were her they would be very bored. On a plus note. Generally the hotel staff were very friendly withe the exception of a couple of younger staff were they rolled their eyes when trying to sort a few things out. It reminded me of the attitude of some of the people in South London. Beach very nice and clean. Local shops and resturants, we found these to be more expensive than inner London.

Just returned from an amazing break in Barbados, the Hotel was exceptional, the staff were so friendly and made our stay a real relaxing occasion. i thoroughly recommend it for families and couples. The food was superb and plentiful

just returned from a week at the mango bay hotel.Everything about this hotel is great.we upgraded to a condo as we had read the reviews about the noise.we loved it,had a sea view and a private pool, just for the condo,s. The staff where so helpfull and friendly. Our only complaint was about the the way the food was served. The buffet and bar b q nights were great a good choice of food and you just helped your self. The other nights when it was A La Carte were a nightmare. We chose an early sitting as we had our grand daughter with us and wanted to eat early. The whloe meal took nearly 2 hours, one evening she fell asleep before the main course arrived. We also found the choice of food was not so good on these nights, but to be fair they would cook a pasta dish with cheese if you asked them.We could not understand why they put themselves to so much trouble. The buffet was so much better.Just a shame that the service was so slow. How ever this has not put us off and we will be returning to this hotel soon.

Mango Bay is a small, intimate hotel. The grounds are very attractive and well maintained and it is easy to walk to the shops and bars from there. The Limegrove shopping centre is incredibly expensive as were many of the boutique shops in the Chattel Village. We stayed in an ocean front room. The room was basic but very clean. We had a fridge with soft drinks and there were some biscuits and tea and coffee making facilities. We had a safe and a hair dryer. We were steps away from the beach, the pool and the restaurant. Most of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful especially Pedro who is a real asset to the hotel. The food was amazing- the best I have had on an all inclusive holiday. I liked how it alternated between buffet and menu. Options were varied and healthy and I tried some lovely Bajan dishes for the first time. The food was certainly not the generic chips and burgers that so many resorts offer. Choosing a time for lunch and dinner was not a problem. Afternoon tea was available from 4pm but was a little disappointing as we were only offered tea twice - the staff don’t appear to be on top of serving their guests at this time. My main criticism is the entertainment. While this is really down to personal taste, it is the proximity to the ocean front rooms that was the problem. Coming from the UK we struggled with the time difference and were very tired by 8pm and often went to bed. The entertainment started at 8.30pm and was incredibly loud, booming away in our room. This made it impossible to sleep. This really put a downer on our holiday and would definitely make me think twice about staying again. Also while the beach is beautiful, the vendors are incredibly annoying and again spoilt the relaxation we were hoping for. Although the vendors are out of the control of the hotel, it is worth noting. Some tips: -book the two free trips when you check in as they get booked up quickly. We were only there for a week and just managed to do both. The tree frogs are delightful but incredibly noisy as soon as it gets dark. You may want to bring some ear plugs. Use mosquito repellent. We got several bites. Explore the island - you can book trips in the lobby. Huntes Gardens are stunning.

We stayed here in May for 10 nights. After reading all reviews before I arrived I was nervous about spending so much money on a holiday to be disappointed. I could not have been more wrong. This place is amazing. We arrived at the airport to find our transfer was no where to be seen, ended up having to take local taxi to hotel. Denise the taxi driver took us back roots of Barbados. A real eye opener but what a lovely lady telling us the history of Barbados the whole journey. On arrival the Receptionist was lovely gave us hot towel flannel and a drink on arrival. We were told on checking in we had been upgraded to Ocean View Room. It was lovely and spacious with an outside patio area that lead directly onto beach. Wow. On first walking around the hotel I thought the hotel was very small to others we had stayed in with only one small pool, but the hotel is directly on the beach so spent our whole holiday in the sea not the pool. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are beautiful and could not do more for you. The restaurant food is amazing. 5 nights of the week you have to book a time for lunch and dinner, it’s sit down service choosing 3 courses on a menu that is cooked fresh for you. Gorgeous food. Apparently many of the guests return year after year and hopefully we will be one of those couples. We had a couple of issues when we arrived which I’m not going to mention as no sooner than I told reception the incidents were resolved. Fabulous place fabulous people.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel we knew that we had made a good choice . the welcoming reception staff greeted us with cool mint face towels and a cold rum punch and after check in gave us a tour of the facilities which were very clean lovely and well laid out . the swimming pool looked inviting and was clearly well looked after . the bar was well stocked and the bar staff were friendly and efficient. the food was plentiful and delicious with a wide variety of choices presented beautifully . Our rooms was ok very clean and comfortable with a nice view but looked a bit dated and showed signs of wear and tear but not too much to complain about, however our teenager childrens room was end of block on the ground floor so was quite dark with little natural light to be fair though being young they were not in the room very much ! nightly entertainment was again ok but could have been on a bit longer and have been a bit more varied but it suited our needs . the position of this hotel is perfect ,right in the town and walk straight on to the lovely sandy beach with lots of beach beds generally available if i have one complaint its the amount of beach vendors who hassle you (in a polite but annoying way) pretty much all the time you are on the beach the answer here we learnt is that unless you are interested in their wares do not engage in conversation and just say no thanks and look away as you will otherwise get a life story ( interesting as it sometimes is) and end up buying an overpriced product just to get rid of them! cant blame the hotel though as the beaches are public and they have no say ! watersports were good and as offered in the brochure . all in all a lovely smallish intimate hotel with good facilities and a good team of friendly dedicated staff who made us welcome and looked after us fantastically you almost feel as though you have made friends during your stay and are sorry to leave. i would definitely without a second thought recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going to Barbados .

Our first holiday to Mango Bay and soon discovered Barbados is a party place that never sleeps.. We were kept awake until 4am Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Never been to such a noisy resort which made such an impact on our day feeling tired.. A warning to people don't book a standard double room as it face the streets full of bars with Karaoke and restaurants. After feeling desperate we went see the manager Maxine who listened to our concerns and was kind and professional and moved us from room 404 to an apartment away from the exceeding loud music so then our holiday could begin. Most staff were great and very friendly giving an excellent service.. The a la carte food was excellent and delicious but the buffet style wasnt so good often luke warm especially breakfast. My fiance and I often had the delicious omelettes. This was different all inclusive resort than I had experience before as you were unable to get ice cream etc at any time only meal times On arrival we were given 3 small packets of biscuits to last 2 people for a 10 night stay these should have been replaced regularly as with tea bags as these were restricted. The swimming pool was a disappointed and not used by many people. Had a volley ball net across the pool always it at all time which obstructed a swim. The beach and sea were glorious but our relaxing time on the beach was constantly interrupted persistent traders and the motor sports. The bar waiters were excellent and the cocktails went down a treat. Even cold flannel were brought to us on the beach a very nice touch.

Mango bay is an excellent hotel and we had a fantastic holiday. Rooms need a little TLC but everything else more than makes up for that. The staff are a complete credit to the hotel and can not do enough for you (all of them!). The fact that water sports are included is also a huge plus for anyone that loves water sports. The free glass bottom boat and catamaran trip were brilliant. Food switched between buffet and served meals and was an excellent variation every day. The fact that the hotel is a small hotel meant that guests were very friendly towards each other and again this made for a fantastic holiday in the evenings. Entertainment was generally very good, maybe a couple of acts not to our liking but you cant please everybody and we really enjoyed the evening entertainment. The hotel is extremely well placed, we used the local buses all the time and went on one of the Virgin trips (coast to coast) even though we had not travelled with Virgin, which was very good. Lots of shopping, restaurants and bars nearby. The one love street party not to be missed on a sunday evening. The cliff on a sunday afternoon (taken by some friends) was also an excellent afternoon. All in all great holiday and lovely hotel. I will be back.
