From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, we were treated to an exceptional display of hospitality. We have stayed in numerous Sofitel hotels all over the world and I can honestly say that Sofitel Saigon is sitting in the top 3 for sure. The check in experience was amazing!! A few nice cold beers is exactly was is needed after the cab ride from the airport. The executive club supervisor Minh Trang deserves a trophy for her unwavering and dedicated service. Her softly spoken English was top notch. She is the quintessential exec club supervisor. Thank you so much for your warm and welcoming service. It was most appreciated. We can't wait to see you again. I was treated to a special vegetarian platter in the lounge, thanks to the previous Accor hotels informing Sofitel Saigon of my arrival and dietary requirements. This quality service and communication between the Accor hotels is something special indeed. All day refreshments (including beer) and evening cocktails/canapés in the executive lounge was delightful. Our upgraded room was magnificent, the welcome gift and complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated. Assistant front office manager Moi Eban deserves a special mention, as he was very professional and super friendly. The roof top pool and bar was very pleasant and I was happy to hear that it will be getting a full refurbishment in the near future. It was more than acceptable in my eyes, but I appreciate a hotel that can see an investment in a hotel service before it is in desperate need. Buffet breakfast in the Mezze Restaurant was the best in Vietnam by far. Everything was fresh and delicious. the variety of food was impressive. As was the labelling of vegetarian food (something that is missed unfortunately in most 5 star establishments). Executive assistant manager Rene is a very affable and phenomal operator. His attention to detail is second to none. A credit to him. It was a pleasure to meet you and have the opportunity to give you our positive feedback in person before we left. Thanks for everything Rene. We look forward to seeing you again. Such a wonderful hotel that exudes class and a special "homely feel". A credit to General manger Olivier Revy.

Stayed here on business. Be sure to get an Accor leClub card and you might get a free welcome drink at the bar (Boudouir). This is a 5* hotel with excellent staff - greeting you as you go and opening doors for you. Staff speak good English as well as French too. I had a very warm greeting and the room was excellent - very spacious with double doors for the bathroom - includes a speaker connected to the TV as well. Pillow menu choice for those who like a choice is available too. Bedside table has all the room and AC controls. The wifi internet however is not 5* and is very slow. Note this for your work demands, it was bearable though for light use. There is a 7-11 convenience store just to the rear of the hotel. Turn right out the front and turn right down the alley and it is located just on the street opposite. Free water is provided daily together with a turn down service in the afternoon. Uber is cheap to the airport too. Thanks for hosting me on a lovely stay.

We stayed two nights at this hotel, they collected us from the Park Hyatt is a luxury car, where we also stayed two nights. Both hotels are magnificent. Our trip was part of a “Luxury Escapes” offer and we were due to move onto the Amiana Resort in Nah Trang but due to my wife suffering an accident in Cambodia we had to return home. On check in we met with Hieu - guest customer relations officer. He was most helpful and as my wife was in a wheelchair he suggested that we upgrade to a suit on the 19th floor, a great idea. With this we had access to the club on the 18th floor, with many benefits. The wonderful lady that runs this are was simply fantastic. All of the staff without exception could not have been more helpful or attentive. Highly recommended.

My stay at the Sofitel started "very pleasant" accepting its wonderful service (I got early check-in), nicely decorated and convenient room, and uplifting amenities such as its beautiful and delicious restaurant, and the large rooftop pool. But then my (very special and expensive) watch had disappeared from my room upon retuning from a swim - or so I thought…. Long story short, deputy manager Trung Thanh Nguyen immediately took charge, with impressive consideration, sensitivity, analysis, and resolution, as if a detective. Not only did he identify no one had entered my room during my absence, he found my watch back at the taxi in which it had slipped out of my pocket upon returning from lunch! Customer centricity and service at their best. In addition, the Sofitel management offered the taxi driver a dinner with his wife in the hotel, as a way to reinforce this kind of laudable behavior. Very impressive, indeed. I have become a loyal Sofitel Saigon visitor. Thank you Trung and the Sofitel team!

Recently spent three nights at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza. As it was my second time to HCMC I spent more time at the hotel in particular by the pool rather than exploring the city. Everything is within walking distance from the hotel including the Ben Thanh area however the hotel shuttle bus makes it even more accessible. The room allocated was of a good size however I had constant issues with the wifi across the whole building. It didn't matter if I was in my room, in the Mezze restaurant having breakfast or by the pool, I had little to no no signal that would drop in and out. This made it had to access PressReader during my stay as no publications would download. The only solution was to have a modem put into my room which meant I could only access the internet during time spent in my room. The pool area is good however it is not as big as the pictures make out. The pool area is in need of a serious and urgent upgrade. Lounges were broken which meant they could not be used and umbrellas were the same. The staff by the pool were attentive however their english ability made it difficult to understand at times. The biggest downside of this hotel is the lighting in the room. After the sun goes down, I found I needed to use the torch on my phone to look for things as the only lights are beside and hall way...apart from the bathroom. I know that Sofitel properties are big on this style of lighting however it's rather unpractical for guests. Would I stay here again? Having stayed at Hotel des Arts (M Gallery) previously which is another Accor property I would be inclined to stay there however I wouldn't rule out the Sofitel Saigon Plaza.

Brilliant location; close to the Independence Palace, Botanical garden and the zoo. 15min walk from shopping malls and parades as well as a wide range of restaurants and coffee shops. Nice and lovely lobby, very friendly concierge staff and the warmth of staff at the door and outside is outstanding. I wish the check desk crew were as nice! When we check in, the cold welcome by the check in lady gave us the impression of ‘take it or leave it’ which we definitely didn’t expect. Her attitude was she was doing us a favour by checking us in! Good size room; the view has nothing extraordinary- 'city landscape' but I have no complain about that. Very good choice of pillow and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and well lit. A small inconvenience- from the toilet seat to the nearest toilet roll holder- you better carry your fishing rod with you unless you are the plastic man! The main restaurant on the second floor serves really good food; good menu and their ingredients are certainly of good quality. But very annoyingly before the breakfast buffet finishes (at 1030) all the staff start checking their watch from 10/10:15 to so that they can start wrapping up and they actually do wrap up. I have never experienced this anywhere else in the world! Usually, even after the buffet time is over, you get a few extra minutes. Sadly here it’s the opposite. It’s on your face shamelessly that only 20 or 30min left and we want to wrap up. Then from around 10:20 they start hovering around each food station (for closing that station) which I found absolutely bizarre! Only exception was Ho Ang at the restaurant, she was very nice. The manager (?) in charcoal-chocolate suit on the floor took away the bottle opener and put it in his pocket at 10.30 dot so you can’t get any sparkling, mineral or still water! This is something I found absurd! From10am it seemed his main aim was not to look after guests but to close the breakfast area as fast as he possibly could. Didn’t expect this type of slightly rude attitude from a senior F&B person at the Sofitel, a hotel known for looking after their guests and going the extra mile to keep them happy. We had lunch at the same restaurant and the staff attitude was very cold- no warmth no life. Last nail on the coffin was when I requested for my burger, which cost me around $15, by the pool, I requested for some pepper/chilli sauce or any other sauce except tomato ketchup but I was told nothing else was available! I tried the burger and it was almost cold! I didn’t have the energy to argue over the cold burger after ketchup saga.... If you like to relax by the pool just a word of caution- the pool is small and it easily gets crowded. The bottom line is- it’s a fantastic hotel, in a brilliant location with absolutely lovely food but they definitely need to work on their F&B staff behaviour and check in staff’s attitude. By all means, Sofitel can ignore our feedback as they are always almost fully booked, so business isn’t a problem but reputation certainly is!

Can't really fault this hotel. For the price it was one of the best in Ho Chi Minh. Fresh water everyday, all bathroom amenities necessary, friendly staff. Pool was usually quiet and provides a beautiful view. The breakfast was rather expensive but worth it if you feel like a treat, and eating 6 different cuisines for breakfast. Taxi's were lined up downstairs, but uber was easier and cheaper. Walking distance the main parts of the centre.

Spent three nights at Sofitel SIagon plaza. Staff are very friendly and attentive but there is the very odd language barrier. Certainly their English is far better than my Vietnamese! The pool rooftop is must to do at night with either a nightcap or a beer, excellent city views

We stayed here for 3 nights in an executive club suite. The room was lovely and spacious with plenty of amenities. The breakfast on level 2 was full of many different options including fresh cooking stations. The executive club, however was lacking. The morning staff had difficulty raising a smile and the food options in the evening was very limited and provided no hot alternative. French champagne was nice and flowed freely (as did all drinks) but the wine was not to our taste or the standard we expect in a club. Nice, but average.

The hotel lobby and restaurants are tastefully decorated but my room was in need of some renovation. Grease spots on the wall and rust in the bathtub are not the kind of things you expect in a 5-star hotel. The breakfast was decent and housekeeping impeccable though. One last thing, I had major difficulties getting Uber cars as the gps keep pointing drivers to the street behind - I know it has nothing to do with hotel management but I feel it’s my duty to inform travelers who rely on shared car apps.
