Placed near city cathedral, and 20 minutes walk from War Museum. Rooms are nicely decorated and beds very comfortable. Bathroom is perfect. Breakfast offers a wide choice from traditional vietnamese to chinese or western food.
Better than other similar hotels. Very busy and vibrant with attentive, competent and caring staff, which seem to be Vietnamese traits. We were made to feel welcome at every turn. For me, a little too much emphasis on seafood in the buffet. Overall great!
This hotel never failed me. The service is really upto standard as Sofitel I stayed anywhere. Great Hotel Good Location. Visited few times and always gave me the best impression of the staffs and facilities.
This was meeting place for AMA Waterways group. Worked out quite well. Part of lobby area walled off for construction but was mostly invisible. No construction noise apparent. Upper floor elevators on one side were hidden behind large mirrors. Food service for group was quite nice but beverages (expectedly) expensive. Beds very comfortable.
Not a 5 star hotel in this state. Is under construction. Save yourself a nightmare and stay somewhere else. Food is very average and over priced - lots of great street food close and a fraction of the price
Great hotel to stay in. Unfortunately have a bit of a renovation which means the lobby area is very noisy but it won't last forever. Rooms a really nice and generous in size and the beds are just gorgeous to sleep in, we had such good sleeps, the pillows are perfect. Breakfast was especially nice so I'd definitely pay extra to have that included, great value. Definitely recommend this.
Traveling around the South East Asia country, from reception to housekeeping last week there was worst experience ever! Receptionist no manners, butler not helping at all! Called a taxi go round the city instead of send me to airport ! I almost missed my flight ! Called hotel reception want to speak with manager but was told non of manager was available ! What a bomber!
The service at the hotel was excellent. The staff is very professional and helpful. My room on the 12th floor was very clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool is great, not only for a refreshing dip, but also as a nice setting for an evening drink. The location is such that you can walk to many of the city's main tourist sites. The breakfast buffet offers a lot of selection of quality food. I would happily stay here again.
We stayed at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza the end of August for a week. The hotel staff were very professional and pleasant and responsive to any request. We only ate at the hotel once, having the breakfast buffet, which was excellent. The rest of the days, we walked about two blocks to the Coffee Bean cafe for breakfast sandwiches and coffee or tea, costing about $8 USD for two people. We did use the travel desk once (Exo Tours) after having a scheduling snafu and found them to be much more expensive than if you book the tours yourself. Because we were booking the tour the same day, we could not book online and ended up paying double the cost that we would have paid had we booked our own tour in advance.
Positives: Good room, excellent buffet breakfast, friendly staff. Negatives: Nightmare bureaucracy at check-in and check-out. Poor environmental profile. At check in I headed to the first free check-in desk and handed over my passport. I was then first asked to move to a different desk since I am an Accor member. I declined as there was already another customer at the desk. I was then asked for my credit card which I promptly handed over: First, the girl at the counter had to type the credit card details into the computer system, then she placed my credit card into the reader and I had to enter my pin code, then I had to sign a piece of paper with my room details on it. The the bureaucracy continued: First the girl filled out by hand a small piece of paper showing my number of Accor points, then she filled out a separate piece of paper with my room number, then she place the key card and the two pieces of paper into a large cardboard folder to show that I am an Accor member! What a complete waste of time, money and paper!! Please stop this rubbish! (literally) :-). Check out was the same, first print one sheet of paper to verify bill, then print bill in triplicate, then have to hand-over credit card once again and sign in TWO places and use pin code... Only the French (or the Vietnamese :-) could possibly make the simple art of checking in and out so incredibly complicated and consume so much paper in the course of doing so. This isn't 1917 This is 2017! Come on! One other comment: In the bathroom there's the normal sign with "Please leave your towels hanging up if you would like to re-use them". The only problem (as with many hotels in Asia where the environment is a very low priority) is that even if you do leave it hanging up the hotel still changes it! :-)
