We were greeted by a friendly gentleman at the airport. upon check in i was greeted by the DM Harry, friendly and welcoming. We were upgraded to comp club access. Room is clean and comfortable. Thank you for the welcome amenities in the room, teddy bear for my daughter too. Very thoughtful. Restaurant at breakfast has a great spread too. Not forgetting the doorman which is quite elderly very helpful on giving us information and direction. Recommended to stay for first timer in hcmc and those travel with family

Three night stay over Sat, Sun and Mon. Excellent in all areas; staff, room, food, services, location etc. Roof top pool offers a good view over the city. Laundry service was superb. The 'Le Club' lounge team were very helpful and even helped to investigate an expensive taxi fare I'd payed. The only slight downside is the general city noise (which is constant and everywhere) so cannot fault the hotel for that. Oh, and the cost of drinks in the bar, which were a bit expensive in my opinion.

The Sofitel Saigon is only a block or two from the centre of the city, an easy walk to all the major sites. The concierge staff are particularly helpful and obliging. We upgraded to the club facilities on this occasion which we have found to be good value for money. In particular the 4pm checkout is great if you have a late flight as we do. The pool is a welcome relief after a long day in the heat and humidity. Definitely our choice for next time.

Stayed four nights for business. Excellent customer service, first class. Amazing breakfast selection . The beef pho was delicious. The only negative, and it's so first world that I am embarrassed, is the drainage in the bath which the shower is over, takes forever. And the bathroom in general, could do with a make over. But on the plus side the bathroom does have a magnifying mirror which is so useful for us women (and men probably as well). The pool is great so much better than in its sister hotel in Hanoi (l'opera)

Sofitel was part of our package with Luxury Escapes A lovely hotel to stay , friendly staff, Breakfast had so much variety to choose from. My husband and I had dinner at their restaurant and again so much variety. Would go there again and definately recommend.

The rooms and hotel itself are all great, kind of normal, though. The rooms are kind of like an average Hilton, maybe slightly smaller and squeezed. The pool is awesome though. The water is nice to swim in, and the towels are super warm, and it is just perfect to lie in the sun. The bottom of the pool is dirty though. When I was swimming, I sank to the bottom and saw dust and gross stuff everywhere. Try to stay off the pool floor.

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the start of a group holiday. It was our first visit to this wonderful city and this modern hotel was truly excellent. You could not fault the style of the hotel, the rooms were extremely comfortable, roomy and spotless. Bathrooms were luxurious too. The hotel's general restaurant was superb with an excellent array of both Asian and Western style foods served in buffet/cooked in front of you. The hotel restaurant manager, Mr Nhan, was so friendly and helpful. Mr Nhan made a point of showing my husband and I around all the different food counters explaining the food menus. His attention to detail was so helpful. Mr Nhan also helped us choose suitable wines with each meal. Very professional gentleman. We also stayed at 2 other Sofitel hotels in Siem Reap and Hanoi and they were also outstanding.

Excellent hotel with a great location. An easy 10-15 minute walk to the park. Spacious room with great bed. Marble bathroom with lighted make up mirror, always important to me. Complimentary in room coffee/tea. Amazing buffet restaurant where I had breakfast and lunch each day. Excellent food quality and taste. Choices for everyone, from super healthy to everyone's fave, bacon & eggs. Pho station, sushi, egg station, dim sum, amazing ice creams & sorbets, beautiful fresh tropical fruits. Cappuchino, espresso, or latte or great French press filter coffee included. Service and cleanliness excellent.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Would rate the staff at 5 stars and the rooms at 3.5 for the price. Positives: - Taxi drivers know the hotel - The location is fairly decent. 10 mins walk to restaurants and pretty close to the city center - Well trained staff, address requests in a proper and timely manner - No funny smells inside the room; clean sheets and towels - Great gym Negatives: The rooms are more like 3.5-4.0 stars: - Dirt marks on the walls visible right when you enter (I had to change the rooms and they both had dirty walls). A quick paint over would probably cost $20, but the hotel believes it's acceptable) - Stains on the carpets - Poor water pressure in one of the showers - The shower fixture wouldn't stay fixed. The showering experience was worse than at some gas station. Again, a $10 replacement cost for that piece, but the hotel thinks it's ok - 3 electrical outlets out of 4 (2 rooms) were not usable (US/Canada plugs). They were in the wall and the current was running, but the fixtures were so loose that the chargers kept falling out. I had to use the phone and remote control to hold the charger in place, as well as avoid moving the laptop to keep this fragile set-up - The way the AC/ventilation is set up - if you're on the bed or working behind the desk - it'll blow right into you. Not a fan. - The cabinet doors (where the minibar and utensils are) don't have self-closing hinges and if you forget to hold them - there will be a loud "bang" etc... Rating it at 4 stars only for the staff efforts

Just returned from vietnam and hard to fault anything about this hotel, in fact with that one proviso in the title I couldn't. Rooms are excellent and spotless, serviced almost *too* often, bathroom also spotless and modern, mini bar in the room plus free water added daily. Staff were top notch and friendly right from the conceirges manning the doors all day, through to the lounge staff who keep you well fed and watered on the 18th floor, and the pool boys on the roof. Note the hotel has a currency exchange, at better rates than uk, so other than having enough for a taxi from the airport (150vnd covers it) you can change as needed. The one black mark is the huge prices charged in the bars, 10x what you'll pay in local venues, and even 3-5x what you'll pay in 'tourist traps'. The hotel should really look at their pricing on this one as it's so out of line with how top of the line everything else is.
