I travel a bit and am usually concerned when I'm not staying at a familiar hotel. This sleep inn was a relief. I knew as soon as I walked into the lobby I was in a good place. Clean, fresh, tidy and best rooms, spacious bathrooms, friendly staff and wonderful smelling shampoo. The Hooters next door is in walking distance, which is always nice (to have a restaurant right next door). Breakfast is fair but good enough, the coffee was decent. I'd definitely stay here again.
My check list for a hotel on the motorcycle road is: clean (very nice), good bed (firm and comfy), reliably hot shower (check), large HD TV and station selection (not bad at all), and good service (so far so good), I am very impressed for the cost.
We stayed at the Sleep Inn for a basketball tournament. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The location is convenient to everything in Hickory. Rooms are minimal but very clean and quiet. If I’m back in Hickory, I’ll stay here again.
This was my first time at this hotel and I was very disappointed overall. Steve was a great guy. He was pleasant and courteous. And he actually cares about the guests. I had complained about my room having a dirty toilet seat and a temperature unit that didn’t work to full capacity. I told Deborah and she kind of spazzed out. I was a little concerned about her. She seemed nice, but I think the stress got to her. And Rina didn’t seem to care about anything that I told her. I asked to be moved because of the temperature unit and because the room smelled funny and she didn’t care. And the housekeepers didn’t service my room one day after I requested daily service. I usually stay at the Best Western down the street and I will always go there and never come back here. Very poorly run property that smelled terrible with people that just don’t care or feel anything. Steve was the only person that cared. Nobody else did anything
Since this wasn't a bottom of the barrel type hotel, I had hoped for a bit better for the price we paid. Here's the good and not so good--- What I liked: The windows actually open Check-in with Steve went well There is a nice wardrobe to hang your clothes in and place your suitcase Desktop with office chair (but it sits too low in relation to the desk!) Bathroom was clean Remote control looked clean Decent number of tables in breakfast room Here is what was not so good: Smoky smell in non-smoking room Pillows too small AND thin Mattress stiff-no cushioning unlike at some other Choice Hotels Comforter was too heavy The room is smallish Tiny bathroom and hard to use the sink space. Must close the door to use the sink. The very worst thing was NOISE in the parking lot for half the night. The parking lot for the Sleep Inn abuts Hooters next door. Trucks pulling in and out. Loud voices. Argument broke out at 4 a.m.! Highway 70 traffic noise. Was an absolutely terrible night's sleep. Between the uncomfortable bedding, the smoky smell, and the very loud parking lot noise I don't think it would be where we would stay if we visited in Hickory again.
We stayed here one night on a trip south to Greenville, SC to avoid Charlotte’s traffic. Our room was fine, but the breakfast is the typical Choice Hotel fare. I would stay here again. It is a good location if you are visiting Lenoir Rhyne University.
We stayed here for one night while passing through to florida and were very pleased. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the property looks to be newly renovated. Breakfast offerred eggs, sausage, waffle maker, pastries, bread, etc. would stay again/reccomend.
This hotel has renovations and is well maintained. Clean rooms, 24 hour surveillance of premises, conveniently located within walking distance to shopping and dining. The price point is a bargain at under $60. Definitely worth checking out. You could definitely pay a lot more but WHY?
The hotel is conveniently located close to I-40, the beds are comfortable, the hotel is clean and well kept, coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby, and the free breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of items. I was happy with the nightly rate as well. This is a non-smoking hotel, though there are benches outside the back door for the convenience of those guests who do smoke. I appreciated that the smoking area was not located near the front entrance or lobby. The staff was very friendly, always greeted me with a smile, and asked how I was if there was anything I needed, etc.. Rena gave me some pointers on Indian cuisine, and we had several pleasant conversations during my stay. I will stay with them again, as I was made to feel like a friend rather than just someone passing through.
Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Hotel conveniently located from I40. Breakfast room was large with ample seating room. Breakfast items were hot and well stocked. Staff was constantly checking and replenishing breakfast items, as well as, cleaning of vacated tables. Walking distance from several restaurants.
