Friendly welcome with additional effort taken to allow early entry into room. Clean and comfortable. It would have been useful to have known that dining not available in hotel the evening we stayed, but good options to eat within easy walking distance. Stayed in connection with visit to Harry Potter Studio

Very easy to reach from the north, close to Harry Potter World and motorways. Car park is located behind the hotel and free. Clean, quiet, pleasant rooms and good breakfast selection. Only problem was getting food outside the hotel within walking distance, everywhere was fully booked. Several local restaurants, all good would definitely prebook next time.

This was a perfect location for us visiting Harry Potter world this afternoon. Was approximately a 10minute journey. Plenty of parking if you get there early, noticed when we went out for tea at about 4 it was getting pretty full from people probably coming home. There was a Sainsburys within walking distance and a few options of places to eat around the corner. I'd highly recommend the calzone pizza place. The room itself was great and had free WiFi which is a nice bonus. We seemed to get a disabled room so we had quite a lot of space and a wet room. We only received one set of towels though which would of been an issue if we'd needed them. We went to the bar in the evening for a drink after finding the local pub had a quiz on. 2 ciders cost me £11.30! Which having stayed in Travelodge last week and the same round costing me £7.95 seemed like a rip off. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of hot and cold options for food and drink. Although same as another traveller has mentioned a lot of the cutlery was dirty and some of the plates had sauce on. All and all its quite a nice modern place to stay.

Easy to book, plenty of parking, smooth check in, comfortable clean room, well appointed. Breakfast plentiful but spoiled by filthy cutlery- several spoons had not been washed properly and were coated with remnants of yesterday’s breakfast cereal. Disgusting.

I just felt compelled to write a review of this brilliant hotel. We use it on a regular basis as a base to get into London and it never fails to disappoint. The staff are friendly and always attentive. The breakfast, an amazing addition considering it's complementary. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and well kept - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a family stay here! Just as an addition - we always use this hotel as it's straight opposite Apsley train station. If you purchase a travel card you can ride all day on the train, underground and bus (off peak but never hinders). It's perfect for getting the experience of the London, will all it's fun, finery and fabulous sites, without having to endure the extra expense!

I've stayed at this property twice in 2017. It's easy to find, a great value with comfortable beds, easy access to the train station and they offer an extensive daily breakfast, plus a small bar off the lobby for happy hour. And free internet. I had an issue during my October stay which was professionally and satisfactorily handled. This property intends for its guests to be well treated and return in the future. Kudos and accolades all around! With my thanks as well!

Have just returned after having spent a night at this hotel as part of a coach trip. Hotel was excellent. The room was spotless, lovely clean bathroom and nice fluffy towels and toiletries included. Great help yourself breakfast. However the best thing about the hotel was the staff, especially Sophie (This this was her name). There was no chef on Saturday evening and she was so helpful with getting us takeaway menus and setting up the dining room for us when it arrived. She went above and beyond what was expected of her. We were travelling with a group of special needs adults and her help and professionalism was greatly appreciated.

Stayed here while in area for work car park can be a challenge to get a spot but be careful not to park in residents spots otherwise a fine will be coming your way.A good nights sleep and clean & tidy rooms

Easy to find, great value, good beds, great breakfast. Hotel looked very well maintained, clean and well laid out. Large car park, never heard of Apsley Lock before but a real community and worth a walk around. Close to railway station

My second visit to this hotel in five months and being a Sunday it was dead easy to get a parking space! Check in wasn't exactly smooth I was behind a family with restless bored teenagers who took an eternity to check in, once they were checked in, the receptionist left me at the counter alone to serve bar customers who got served quicker than I did. To that receptionist: I am not invisible, please don't treat me as such. Did eventually get checked in went to my room on the fifth floor was standard HIE room - spotlessly clean, spacious, and comfortable. After a good night's sleep, it was an early breakfast and whilst nothing to get excited about, it was a pretty good start to the day. Then check out and fight Watford's traffic chaos to meet client!
