I went for afternoon tea in the summer with a friend and it was lovely, the staff were so friendly and attentive and the food was lovely and really reasonable. So I went back with my sister, mum and aunty for my sister's 18th. On the website they had advertised a unicorn afternoon tea and I thought that would be a cute, fun idea and I emailed the hotel and requested 4 unicorn afternoon teas, I was promptly responded too by a lovely polite lady who booked my afternoon tea in. But then we got there and it all went downhill, (the hotel reception staff are lovely always have been) we proceeded to enter the restaurant where we were greeted by a young lad who didn't even look at us and just stood there staring at the wall, I told him I had a reservation and he said 'oh I don't know' - no idea?? Went back to reception where about 15 mins later a man came along and picked up his reservation list and then seated us - we then sat and waited for an hour and a half for the afternoon tea. Despite asking people numerous times. (Admittedly the restaurant was busy) The afternoon teas finally came - the food is lovely I cannot fault that but it was just traditional afternoon tea not a 'Unicorn themed one' but I couldn't be bothered to tell them that after we'd waited that long. I did tell them I was a bit cross I had bought my family here on my recommendation and it was so disappointing and they did offer me to pay for 3 afternoon teas instead of 4 and they did apologise. Its just a shame, the venue is lovely and the food is so nice and reasonable but the young staff haven't got a clue what is going on, they are moody, unhelpful and quite frankly they are useless!
Had a great evening attending a charity ball at Shendish Manor, the staff were friendly, food was really good, and the atmosphere was great, which made for a really great evening. Everyone in our party had a great evening, thanks to all involved.
What a great location, for a charity ball, all the staff were happy, helpful, welcoming and should be so proud of what they do, the venue looked stunning, great atmosphere, food was fantastic and they managed to serve everyone food on a table at the same time, a well oiled operation for something on this scale. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to host an event of this kind.
My wife and I recently had a night booked at Shendish Manor as a present for her 40th birthday. We had a walk around the ground and were pleasantly surprised to watch the wild deer roaming around. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but opted to dine out in a local restaurant which was very good. The hot breakfast buffet the next morning was good quality however it wasn't very hot so my wife left hers and had some fruit. A few pointers for the management team, attention to detail could be improved- Litter outside the window of our room, not all staff acknowledging customers and decor in some rooms a little tired. Get all those things right and it would be a great venue, shame as we were really looking forward to our visit.
Will keep this simple... Excellent food Excellent polite and attentive staff Beautiful surroundings Lovely comfortable rooms Exceptionally clean Great place to relax, can’t wait for my nxt visit Thankyou and see you all soon

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times, the hotel is lovely along with its gardens. It is in a great location if you are wanting to visit Harry Potter studios and also getting a train into London. On our last visit I planned to propose to my girlfriend in the gardens within the gazebo. Bryher, the sales manager was more than happy to assist with planning this and making our stay perfect by setting up a table with flowers, chocolate strawberries, music and champagne for the proposal. Along with a very luxurious room looking out over the gardens. The hotel also does really good food and the breakfast is worth getting.
We organised the first company event with our clients in the Longman Suite. It was a very successful one and part of it was thanks to the Shendish Manor team. The communication was great and everything was set up just as expected. The team was very helpful and flexible to our request to push the coffee break and lunch by half an hour. Moreover, both the venue and the food were greatly appreciated by our guests. It is very likely for the event to become a yearly tradition and we will be looking forward to organising at the Shendish Manor again!
I stayed with a friend at the Shandish Manor for one night as we were attending a wedding at the venue. The room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and tidy. There were tea and coffee making facilities as well as a TV, iron and ironing board. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had complimentary toiletries, lots of towels and plenty of hot water. There is free parking on site and reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The venue obviously gets crowded with events such as weddings, but we didn’t have any problem with noise during the night. A good idea though would be to have a separate entrance for hotel guests and event attendees as the lobby is quite small and it got very busy at times. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the breakfast as we didn’t opt in for it as we thought it was a bit on the expensive side for breakfast! Overall though would stay again.
The venue is beautiful with lovely gardens. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful but a lack of resources (running out of cola and ice on a hot day) and training means the service doesn't quite match expectations. This place alludes to being a "silver-service" venue (it uses the word "splendour" in its advertising) and it really should be but none of the staff I encountered knew what silver service was which is a shame as a bit of training would lift this venue enormously. I would happily attend an event here again but wouldn't personally book one here.
