This was our second visit to the Stella Palace. We stayed for 10 days from the 27th June 2017. Again we really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is very clean and the staff are on the whole very helpful and friendly. We werent as happy this year with the room we were given, it was upstairs and overlooked the Stella Village accommodation. The rooms have everything you need and plenty of room for a family of four, it was just the position. I think we were spoilt the first time we stayed as our room was ground floor with a patio and pool view. I would definately request a pool view room if possible, We did have one occasion to complain as there was one day where our room was not cleaned, which was a shame as for the rest of the time our cleaner (Tula) did a great job, this happened on her day off. We rang reception to complain, I was asked if we had but the do not disturb sign on the door, to which I replied no, we didnt have one in our room. This was rectified but took about 2 hours to get done which I wouldnt expect from a 5 star hotel. We took advantage of our two included meals in the a la carte restaurants, my favourite was the Elia. The meal was delicious, could not fault it at all and we had the most helpful waiter, a mature gentleman with a moustache, unfortunately, I cannot remember his name. He was so helpful and looked after us really well. The entertainment staff were really friendly, they would let you know what activities there were but never pushed you to do anything you didnt want to. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday. My one question is what do Stella Palace consider a repeater as they had special evenings for repeaters, this was our second visit but not classed as repeaters!!!

Arrived as a family of five (four adults and one baby). I requested a ground floor room but when we arrived it was upstairs however they did sort this and the next day we was moved. Second day myself and partner were ill... throwing up and going the toilet can only assume this was from something we ate and not a bug as the rest of the family didnt get it. The hotel isnt very baby friendly.. no shaded pool areas, no baby making facilities apart from in main restaurant one bottle warmer and steriliser. The main restaurant was awful- staff rude, dont get sat down and have to find tables yourself and wave down staff to get a drink.. baby highchairs were not very clean. The restaurant by the pool which serves breakfast and dinner was fab though would recommend you go there! The al cartes were good especially the asian! The pools are great, the snack bar and entertainment was brill but the main restaurant definitely lets it down. Also.... there are signs saying no reserving of towels but they are still all reserved.. dont expect a sunbed after 8am.. my mother in law would get up at 7am and there was only ever about 10/15 sunbeds left!

second time in crete for our family holiday. let me start with saying we had a very lovely holiday and the hotel was good! but there are many details, in a negative way, that made the difference for us. especially when we compare it to our other other holidays in Turkey. ROOM we arrived in the evening and with a golfcart, my family and the suitcases got fast to our room. this was very cool. our room was behind the main restaurant. we had the standard room. My sister and me had one room and my parent had one room. the room was simple and good and got everything you needed. great balcony. enough storage space and enough sockets. beds are good and big. the bathroom was outdated (small bath/shower, shower head was full of chalk, hole in the tile wall). foam out of the well when the second person showerd. Our airco was not working good and this was not comfortable at all ! the room was not cooled down enough. at our parents room the airco was good. we reported it at the reception, two times, but it was still the same. they offered a new room but we didn't want to do that because all our stuff was unpacked en we slept next to our parents room. So we got a ventilator. this was better but definitely not cooling enough. POOL nice view and nice clean pools. nice pool bars. real tropical feeling with the palm trees. beds are good and the beanbags are nice! cleaning around 8am was to late. people are already at the pool and swimming. No lifeguard at the pools and it was always very crowded (?). we missed a clock and temperature meter. toilets can be cleaner! but our biggest disappointment was that you had to get op really really early to get a sun bed by the pool at all ! 6am and there are towels everywhere ! there are signs that you can not put your towels on the beds and that the staff will take it away if you do. good rule but never fallowed by the staff (!), in reality the staff didn't do anything about it and that was frustrating. our first day at stella palace, we had no sun bed so we go to reception to complain about it and mention that the staff didn't do anything. so they came with us and then wanted to remove 4 towels so we had room, but we didn't want that because we didn't want a fight with the owners of the towels so we went to the beach that day. other days of our holiday, we did like all the other guests en went op at 7am to put our towels on the beds. ( on that hour you almost had to run to get your beds!) this was terrible. the sign means nothing and the staff did not take the towels away. Big disappointment on your holiday feeling. FOOD breakfast. we went to elia restaurant and the main restaurant and it was both enough to choose from, simple, tasteful and good. I liked elia better because you can sit outside and they had fresh juices. good service! Lunch. we always went to elia restaurant. everyday 90% the same food but it was very good and fresh! service was good ! Snackbar. from 11am to 7pm. so food is always available for everyone at every time. best waffles and pancake! and very lovely service! Dinner. food was very good in the main restaurant. tasteful and enough to choose from. everyday something different depends on the theme night. we liked the seafood night a lot! good service but at theme very loud and busy so you had to wait a little longer. staff is always friendly ! sometimes also very hot inside. we went to elia restaurant one night and it was absolutely delicious! I would recommend it to everyone! first class service and food. very special to dine there in the open air. had a nice wine and a great professional sommelier! thank you again for the wonderful evening. DRINKS good drinks, great cocktails and enough to choose from, also for the kids with no alcohol! well and fresh made with a lot of ice. we liked it al lot! they also had a herbal thee that was refreshing, but very sweet. only thing that we missed was some nuts or chips to go with it. also after 11pm you have to pay for your drinks. for an all inclusive hotel I don't agree with this rule. so if you wanted something to drink after 11pm, you had to pay but then you get some chips… BEACH liked the private beach but there are many rocks in the water that can hurt you and also a lot seaweed. beach was cosy and clean.good beds. missed a shower. ENTERTAINMENT we as a family did not participate but they are very enthusiast, nice, friendly and not to pushy at all! sometimes confusing because you had the hotel animation, thomas cook animation and the belgian experience team. they had all different activities. at the bar there is info about every night ( party, dj, theme nights) but this was not always correct and sometimes disappointing. Some nights there is live music and it was very good! also sisha is available. only problem was that there are too little tables and chairs, not enough for everyone. thank you stella palace staff for your smiles and good service. all very friendly! we had a lovely holiday! met some lovely people ! work on the details and you can be a true 5star hotel.

We as big family were in Stella Palace hotel in July 2017 and we appreciated it highly . Rooms are clean, every day towels were changed, beds fixed . Food was also good , only would suggest to serve bit more sea food. But most important for us was how staff was treating us, doing everything possible to satisfy clients 🙂 Particularly I would like to mention F&B Manager Antonis Kalogerakis and F&B Assistant Manager Antonis Maniarakis, Public relations Manager Mrs. Alexandra, Giorgos from Elia restaurant and barmen Kostas, Katherina, Angelika, Maria from pool bar. I loved staying there consider to spend my next vacation next time there again. We got at the end health problem with my granddaughter and Mrs. Alexandra and Antonis took care for us and invested their private time and cars to use for us. Thank you all :-) Bravo Greece !!!

Great hotel, lots of upgrades and excellent serivce across the hotel, very high maintenance and the food is amazing we got 2 room by the pool and near the kids clubs and playground it was a gread upgrade with no extra charge for it, lot of snacs and drinks during the day So good and we want to come back again

Stayed here for a week, lovely clean room close to pool and bar, staff friendly and helpful and always approachable, great choice of pools, animation team great, always happy and no pressure to join in, thomas cook kids club brilliant, paid extra for the parties, well worth the €10. Plenty of choice with food from snack bar to restaurant, just wish they had more choice for children but my son still managed pizza and chips every day. Would definitely return here and will recommend it to others as it has everything you need for a family holiday.

Just finished an amazing 2 weeks at the Stella Palace. As my sisters has Ceoliac disease (gluten intolerance) we had to choose our hotel based around this and the Stella Palace did not disappoint. Every day they had a variety of food and even cooked her separate gluten free pasta pizza etc when she asked. The food was lovely and was always a variety. The different themes each night at dinner were also lovely. The only negative would be the snack bar as they didn't have any gluten free options apart from fruit which wasn't ideal as she couldn't snack outwith breakfast lunch and dinner. The room was massive and had a view out onto the pool which was really nice. Rooms were cleaned daily and the whole hotel was spotless, even the pool toilets which is always a bonus. The main thing which stood out about this hotel is the staff. Each day the animation team would always be seen around the pool. Anis in particular became a part of our holiday and would chat to us every day, even when we didn't feel like taking part in any activities. All the animation team were incredible and a real credit to the hotel. The professional dancers were outstanding at every show. Haley, Jennifer, Daisy and Ashely worked so hard, especially in the heat, and did not fail to have an amazing show every night. One of the highlights was Jennifer singing along with Anis playing guitar. Each member of the staff was friendly and really made our holiday that bit more enjoyable. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will hopefully be back soon.

Unbelievable! Animation team didn't fail to make every day enjoyable. Every one of them are friendly and such amazing people! Best animation team ever! They made every second of the holiday incredible!

This place is only just pushing 4 star been to many 5 star hotels food is average in all there restaurants staff very good. Rooms are basic at best grounds and pool area very nice. My main gripe was that people had there little dogs in all the restaurants eating of the tables absolute no no if you would like a proper 5 star holiday check out the grand excelsior malter thats 5 star. Will not be back .

All inclusive family hotel, booked for well earned rest. Arrived late on Friday night. Our room wasn't ready but Victoria at check in desk got us into a villa room wth pool for the night, after a cold cuts, buffet. We had to move rooms the next day. The rest of the stay was very good. Rooms: very clean, floors mopped daily and the resort in general was spotless. You can tell especially when public toilet areas were also clean. Pools were very good, but busy. A lot of people reserving loungers, even though signs says not to. Beech at bottom end of hotel small and crowded. BUT you can walk ten minutes in either direction on the beech road and there are several beeches you can go to that are much more spacious. Food: was a lot better than expected, variety was excellent, salads fresh. Each night had different themes, Italian, Asian, Greek, Fish night. Elia restaurant by pool was fantastic for 6 course evening dinner, and our choice for breakfast also. Non-alcoholic cocktails were all very sweet, with loads of syrups added. Veranda restaurant for Asian, was only ok. Snack bar near pool a good idea, serving hotdogs, ice cream and waffles during afternoon. Staff all very attentive and a credit to hotel. SpA/gym is good but extra cost 5 Euros. WiFi free. Car hire available: recommend Speedy hire, found at bottom of the beech road to the left as you come out of hotel: If you plan to see Crete in earnest then car hire recommended: taxi from airport to hotel is 40 Euros each way. Taxi's generally pricey. You can catch bus into Heraklion for 3.60 euros, from the beech road again, which takes you to bus terminal in town, where it is a ten minute walk to centre and museum. Overall lovely resort, good food, clean and with good staff. Children well catered for, evening entertainment and Greek night special on Thursday a good laugh.
