The staff were amazing and the location was only about a 5 minute walk from the wharf, shopping district and tramline. I left my backpack at a tramstop after leaving the hotel heading to our next destination. The staff bent over backwards to retrieve it for me and make sure that it was returned to me. I cannot thank them enough. Over and above any expectations. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our second visit to this excellent hotel, centrally located for visiting Helsinki and seeing all the sights. Such comfortable bedrooms and very nicely designed. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. We will return again! The only small criticism is with the early breakfast we requested. There was very little on offer, just cereal and croissants. We had paid for the full B&B and think, even with an early breakfast there could have been more of the usual poached fruits, breads and cheese available. We were not expecting a hot/cooked breakfast but more cold variety would have been nice.

We stayed 2 nights in a Luxury room. I guess we had the smallest of the luxury rooms as in the pictures on the website there is a separate dining space with a table (that we did not have) so the difference between the pictures on the website and the reality are a bit deceptive. The room was still nice and confortable. I believe they could give more amenities, 1 small shower gel is barely enough for 2 persons. Also toilets would need to be better cleaned. But again, overall was good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi works well. Difficult to find a table for breakfast as it gets crowded very fast (or the room is too small) so we ended up having our breakfast on a coffee table (not comfortable at all)

Stayed here one night in February. Friendly staff, large and cozy rooms and excellent location. Breakfast is good too. The staff accommodated my wish for porridge made with water instead of milk very quickly and made no fuzz about it. It’s a small thing, but it adds to a great impression of the hotel overall.

We had a lovely room on the 5th floor with a balcony which felt like a home from home. Incredibly quiet, warm and very well appointed. I loved staying here and was sad to leave. Breakfast was great too. Excellent high quality food. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed our stay here. Front desk staff were excellent! All were sincere, warm and welcoming. They gave excellent advice on sites to see and made several restaurant reservations for us. Matts in particular, helped on a number of occasions. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, well presented and had many options. We definitely would stay here again.

All in all just an enjoyable experience! A wonderful, peaceful enbience, stunning spacious rooms. And the location of the hotel is optimal - situated on a sidestreet to the buzzling downtown. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants and bars.

The staff is great, the rooms are nice, the breakfast is generous, they allow early check in and late checkout, basically everything you would want in a hotel is there. It’s been 4 weeks since our trip and we have such pleasant memories of this stay. The hotel is located close to the Helsinki train station and downtown, and the white church. It’s convenient to get to from the airport as well.

The Fabian was a pleasant surprise, with a very friendly staff. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and nicely designed. Included is a wonderful buffet breakfast with lots of choices. The hotel is a short walk to the center, (4 blocks) with great shops and cafes. I would recommend to anyone that visits Helsinki, to stay at the Fabian. Great value for an upscale experience.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was relatively large for a European boutique hotel. The location is hidden, but close enough to shopping and restaurants. Also, the liquor/wine store is next door, which is convenient if you'd like to choose your own wine. The highlight was the wonderful breakfast food. The selection was limited and I don't believe there were any hot items (except oatmeal), but the quality was high and the layout was pleasing. Great coffee, too. I had a problem with overheating in my room, which faced into the courtyard. The first night was miserable with my room at 25.5 degrees (~78F), despite my attempt to cool the room by adjusting the thermostat. When I reported this problem the next day, the staff responded immediately and sent someone to open a window (you needed a special key to do this). The window remained wide open my entire stay (even when it snowed), but that helped keep the temperature in a reasonable range. While this was not ideal, I do believe the staff were genuinely concerned and trying to solve the problem. They also took some minibar fees off my bill to compensate.
