Loved the location and old world charm. Could use some basic maintenance and freshening up.
We had a wonderful two nights spoiled by Laura the house maid/cook. She was pretty rude. We asked for some milk for our tea and she rolled her eyes and eventually looked in the fridge. She came out and said you used it all. Shane as this place was pretty nice and we had had a great reception from Sawyer but this Laura lady was tude central.
Laurie was amazing. She is very friendly and will go out of her way to ensure your experience is the best it can be. Laurie is also an amazing cook for your daily breakfast. Will come back for sure.
The Calderwood is situated in a beautiful, historic Queen Anne house in Healdsburg. It's a short walk to the shops and restaurants downtown. My wife and I could only stay one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. Complimentary wine is offered in the parlor for guests arriving between 4:00 and 6:00. My wife and I arrived later, and there was still wine available. Breakfast was served promptly at 9:00 am, with all the guests seated together at the same table. The resident manager, Laura, is very friendly, knowledgable about the house's history, and likes to converse. Laura prepared a delicious breakfast consisting of yogurt and fresh blackberries, followed by huevos rancheros, along with juice, coffee, and tea. She will accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. The property is clean, well maintained for a property of its age, and beautifully decorated with period wallpaper and furnishings. The house, of course, is old; so the pickiest of visitors could find things to complain about. One word of caution: the upstairs has a gabled roof, so the ceiling clearances in some parts of the rooms are low. People of normal height might have to stoop in some locations, and tall people might be uncomfortable. We stayed in the Jaxon Keys room (all the rooms are named after wineries that are also owned by the owners of the Calderwood). The bath included a claw-foot tub with a hand shower. Some might be put off by this, but we found it charming. We recommend it.

Thank for the positive review. Guests LOVE that they can walk into town Healdsburg easily and quickly. And yes, it's a fine line between "old world charm" and freshening up. We continue to look at ways to improve. Cheers.

Thank you for the great review and, of course, your service. We definitely agree that Laurie is truly an asset to our inn and her breakfasts alone are worth the trip. :-) We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Until then!
